Abel Appliance Repair

Called and made an appointment. Made an appointment about on a Saturday and he came out the following Saturday. He provided estimates and made the repairs. He is very good and this is our 2nd time using him. This time he was a little expensive. He repaired an ice maker for one refrigerator (estimated cost $230) and an something complicated on our garage refrigerator (estimated cost about $230). Both refrigerators are working great

I JUST MOVED HERE FROM OUT OF STATE AND I WOKE UP THIS MORNING AND MY FRIDGE WAS NO LONGER COLD AND MY FOOD WAS GOING BAD. I SPOKE TO LARRY WHO PICKED UP THE PHONE PROMPTLY WHO ASSURED ME THAT HE WOULD GET ME IN TODAY. THEY CALLED WITH UPDATES ON WHEN THEY WERE GOING TO BE THERE AND REMEMBERED MY NAME. HIS SON JORDAN WAS THE ONE WHO CAME OUT TO FIX MY FRIDGE. JORDAN FIXED MY STARTER MOTOR AND ADVISED ME THAT MY COMPRESSOR WAS BAD BUT UNDER WARRANTY THRU SAMSUNG AND IT WOULD SAVE ME OVER $500 IF I HAD THEM COME DO THE WARRANTY WORK BUT ALSO ADVISED ME IF I WANTED THEY COULD FIX IT AS WELL. I'VE NEVER MET A SERVICE PROVIDER THAT WOULD MAKE SURE I SAVED AS MUCH MONEY AS POSSIBLE. I WILL DEFINATELY BE RECOMMENDING AND USING THEM IN THE FUTURE.

Called Abel and arranged a service call. They were prompt and courteous and found that a system board needed replacing but he warned me that the cost would be significant. I decided to go ahead and the serviceman ordered the part. I was kept informed about the status of the order and when it arrived another visit was scheduled and the part replaced. Everything worked fine. I was impressed with the entire experience and felt that I was treated fair and will use Abel again.

Larry, the owner wasn't available so he sent his son,Jordan. Jordan came inside and started the work, chatted with me a bit, and fixed the leak within an hour or so. Very professional and knowledgeable. We also used Larry for an icemaker problem and a washer problem. Abel Repair has always been honest,professional and dependable. Will use them again and again. Great response and very courteous

It’s been months ago probably been at least 6 months I was having trouble with my dryer. It was making a horrible noise. It sounded like a drum was going out. I thought I was losing it and so I went to Angie’s List and read about a groupon and I called them and the owner came out and he look at my dryer and he had a perfect opportunity to cheat me if he wanted to. He took my dryer part, cleaned everything and put it back together and it worked perfectly. He just charged for the cleaning and the service cost. I was extremely impressed. He could have said anything. Its making this noise that sounded like the drum was going out. My husband thought it was the same thing and he is more mechanical than I am. I was just really impressed. He was extremely professional. He was extremely helpful. He talks about the fact that about every few years you need to have somebody come out and oil everything and all that kind of thing because my dryer is getting older and I was impressed. The cost of service I think it was about $70. Like I said they pick all the parts, they cleaned everything inside and they check everything the belts or whatever has to be done. I thought I was going to have a $300 bill. I am sure there is a service call amount that is $35 or $40 box so it wasn’t bad at all. I guess I would in fact I asked him what other types of appliance he work on. I haven't had any problems.

Larry was just going to go eat lunch when I called him in a panic that my backup refrigerator was not running - lights out - appeared dead. He said since he was nearby he would be right over. He had mentioned that the outlet may have been tripped - the kind that have "test" and "reset" buttons. I am unable to reach the outlet and the refrigerator is oversized, FULL of food and water bottles, so I could not budge it an inch. Well, he arrived and was able to move the thing and reset the outlet - ta da!!! Fixed!! He also gave me advice on how to avoid this happening again - especially if we were out of town. Gave me the name of an electrician, so since he referred him, I'll take his advice. Even though it was a seemingly minor service call, it was worth every penny for him to drop everything and come to help me out. The cost of losing all of the food in that freezer, not to mention the hassle, it is incomparable!

I called and described the problem. They immediately had an idea of what the problem was. The gentleman I spoke with was not able to make it out that day but he was able to have one of his other employees come out later the same day. When the repairman made it out that day it took him about 30 minutes to take the dryer apart and diagnose the problem. He did not have the necessary part with him. Normally he would have been able to get a hold of the part and fix the machine the next day but since it was a Friday he was not going to be able to make it back out until Monday. However he was able to temporarily fix my machine to get my family through the weekend. First thing Monday morning he came back out and finished the repair on my dryer. Overall the company provided excellent no fuss customer service and fixed the problem I was having right away. This definitely seems to be a company that cares about its' customer. I would definitely use them again without hesitation.

I called them for the repair. I called and he said he didn't have time to do it but he was going to try to send me another person. He said for tax purposes they use a bunch of different companies to do the work. Nobody is responsible at all. He handed my work off to someone else and it all just got very cloudy in regards to who I was hiring.

I thought my water wasn't working for the dispenser and ice maker, but it turned out that the faucet was not on, my mistake. I paid the service fee after being totally embarrassed but had a good laugh. I will use them for any other issues without a doubt.

The issue I had with them was that they were advertised on Angie's list, but were reluctant to offer me a coupon discount saying that the price quoted was the lowest and if I needed to use the out coupon, the price would be higher. This was a task that took all of 10 minutes and the cost was $160 + Tax for a microwave turn table repair. A brand new microwave would have cost me about $225.

Fixed a clogged drain pipe in washing machine

Very happy with his service so far, and appreciated very much that he was able to fit us in on Saturday.

It went well. No charge for the visit. They could have charged us tons for the service call but didn't. We asked about specific replacements and he gave us honest feedback and said if we have questions while out shopping don't hesitate to call him.

Larry fixed the leak quickly, explained what might have caused it. It hasn't leaked since.

Jordan Garner was dispatched to fix what we thought was an ice maker leak. We had pools of water forming on our kitchen floor off and on for about two weeks before we finally realized where it was coming from. Our LG fridge had almost 2 inches of ice built up on the floor of the freezer. Over time, the ice would melt out of the front of the fridge and leak all over the kitchen floor. Jordan was polite as always. We have worked with him before. He explained what he was doing as he was doing it, and made sure we understood how to avoid it, if need be in the future. Issue was fixed within an hour. Overall, the price is extremely fair, and we will definitely be calling Abel Appliance Repair in the future should the need arise. Just another reason private/local businesses are the best!

Larry Garner is one of the most competent, honest and personable repairmen I've ever had in my home.I called him Sat. morning and was pleasantly surprised to learn that he was willing to come to my home to work on my oven that afternoon. I have a very old Chambers oven and was afraid that it would be too expensive to be worth my while to fix it. However, I also knew that I was looking at several thousand dollars to replace it, so I decided to take a chance and inquire how much it would cost to fix it. Larry gave me a very reasonable bid so I asked him to come out and take a look at it. Being a single female, I'm always concerned that service providers will try to take advantage of me. That couldn't be farther than the truth about Larry. He told me that he always tries to do the right thing. And so he did. As it turns out, the whole problem was caused by a wire which had become disconnected. Larry didn't try to sell me a bill of goods. He simply took the oven out of the wall and fixed the problem. On top of all of this he is friendly and very pleasant. There is no question that I will call him again in future if any of my appliances need service. My friends and I often share names of the people and companies that we highly recommend. He will be at the top of my list!

It somehow had a small leak in the refrigerant line causing it not to cool properly. The repair went great and quick. I'll use Mr. Garner at Abel appliances repair again.

part for right now. He said he would keep it on his truck, and if the refrig started not cooling again, to just call him, and he would stop back by and replace the part for me. He only charged me $70.00 for his time. I can't tell you enough, how nice this guy was. He was so honest, and just had the best customer service I have ever experienced. Spoke with Jordan Garner to set up appointment, and ended up having him come out to the house the next day. Even though our issue was not serious (bag ice works just as good), Jordan made every effort to fit us in to his busy schedule. He arrived on time, and was extremely courteous and kind to my wife. He charges a flat fee of $70.00 for an inspection of the issue, which is absolutely fair. Jordan reset the ice maker, and performed all the necessary troubleshooting steps given in the manual, and then some. The ice maker began working like normal, and he gave advice on what to look for in the future, should it fail again. He also told us that our issue was pretty common with LG fridges. Although our issue was not extreme by any means, the professionalism and courtesy we were shown was exceptional. We will definitely be recommending Jordan and Abel Appliance to friends.

During the weekend the non-freezer side of my refrigerator started to feel a little warm. On Monday I knew something was definitely wrong when it was about room temperature and I noticed that there wasn't any air blowing on that side. It's a 13 year old refrigerator, so I was hesitant about calling anyone to repair it, but decided to give one a call. I called Abel Appliance repair based on the A rating from Angie's List and talked to the owner (don't remember his name). He asked me some questions about the fridge and based on my answers thought it would cost around $200 to fix it. Of course this was just a ballpark number. He said they could come out to my house, diagnose the problem and give me a firm estimate for $70. If I decide to get the work done that amount would be applied to the repair. I decided it was worth $70 to see if it could be fixed. Wasn't looking forward to spending $1200+ on a new one. I told him I was off that day and he said they could fit me in late in the day. Around 3pm I received a call from Jordan, who happens to be the owners son (mom does the books so it's a true family business), saying he was about 30 minutes out. Jordan arrived right on time and was a very polite young man. He took a look at my fridge and immediately was able to diagnose the problem. The control that turns on the defroster wasn't working and would need to be replaced. With my approval he proceeded to defrost the fridge and replace the control. He also put the back panels back on that I had taken off earlier in my feeble attempt to diagnose the problem. Our refrigerator is working perfectly. It was a great experience and I would definitely do business with them again. It was money well spent!

We are very satisfied with the results of his repair. He is a very professional, efficient and courteous serviceman and we appreciate his work.
