Abel Appliance Repair

Larry and I spoke the morning of 8/31/11 and agreed he would make a service call after 11 AM on 9/1/11, since I had another 9AM appointment that same day. Larry was upfront that he wouldn't be at my house at 11 but would give me time to get back home and settled. He called about 12:15 and was only about 10 minutes away. He asked some questions about the ice maker, what it is or is not doing, and I explained the same problem occurred about 5 years ago. He understood because he has the same refrigerator and said he has had to replace his ice maker about every 5 years. He got the ice maker working, it filled with water, by messing with the arm. I told him I'd tried that several times but nothing had happened so he kindly explained that the arm was "kind of stuck" and that he had to mess with it to get it down correctly. I then asked if he has a new ice maker on his truck since the last time this happened the repair person fixed it originally but within one week it went out completely requiring a new ice maker. Larry was fully prepared and had one on his truck so I asked him to just go ahead and install the new one. He told me about what the cost would be and I decided to replace the old one. He had it installed in no time. Larry is very personable, prompt, and easy to deal with. I would give him an A+ if possible and will definitely use him the next time I run into any appliance problem/s. You won't regret using his services.

Our refrigerator was not cooling on the refrigerator side, while the freezer was working fine.. We had a service call by one reputable company tell us that it looked like the condensor needed replacing, and that the cost would be in the range of $2000. After checking Angie's list, we noticed that Abel Appliance Repair had extremely high marks from users, so we gave Larry a call. He first tried to help us solve the problem ourselves by taking the time to ask a number of questions o v er the phone. Only when it was clear that we could not solve the problem ourselves did he come out to look at the refrigerator. The refrigerator was actually cooling satisfactorily when he arrived, so he c leaned the coils and said to let him know if that did not fix the problem. The next day I called him again and told him the refrigerator was not cooling. He first suspected the problem might be in the dials that control temperature, but then observed that the light was not switching off when the door was shut. He he replaced the light switch and everything was fine. I was extremely impressed with his honesty and desire to keep costs down for the c ustomer. I will definitely use him in the future.

The freezer stopped working on our side by side and within 1 hour of my call, they replaced the computer mother board on the fridge. Very timely and a very well done!

Overall, it was a cut and dry experience. He called back, promptly...came to the house, when as scheduled.He was very pleasant and professional.

Refrigerator problems..he could have sold me a new compressor, but was honest enough to just do a thorough cleaning and tell me to keep an eye on the dust and dirt underneath.

The work turned out great. We had no complaints. They came when I asked them to and did good work. The work was done very quickly. I have my house for sale and had a showing that day, and he was able to work around it. He was very accommodating and I would use him again.

The work was perfect. They came to do what they were supposed to do, they did it, and they did a good job. Not only did they fix the problem, but they showed us what to do to avoid the problem in the future.

Very well. I was quite pleasantly surprised that the owner answered the phone and was able to come on a Saturday so I didn't have to miss work. He also arrived in a timely manner, had the parts with him, and the job was finished in about an hour. He was very personable as well.

He showed up when he said he would show up and he competently performed the service at a fair price. He followed up with a hand written note. I would definitely use him again.

This was the second time I used Abel appliance repair (Larry). My freezer was making clicking noise and was not freezing. I called Larry around 7a.m, on 6/24. Larry came by my home before 12 noon. He listen to what i had to say, ask me specific questions about the clicking noise. Larry replaced the electric start kit on the compressor. Larry gave me a 1 year warranty. Larry also told me that if the compressor goes out he would apply what I paid for the replacement of the starter kit to the compressor. I will be using Abel appliance for all of my appliance issues in the future. Frisco Resident.

After living for months with a faulty ice machine/water dispenser (14 yo Fridgidaire) I called Larry at Abel Repair based on the reviews and he got me in at my requested timeframe. He is good about letting you know his timing, and has the largest and most professional looking truck I've seen, filled with parts to make repairs more efficient than others. Larry not only quickly diagnosed the issue, but gave me some great options to consider to save quite a bit of money. He also took the time to explain the problem to me and what to look for in the future, as well as answered some of my questions about appliances in general. I am very happy with the work, the bill (takes Credit Cards too!), his professionalism and experience, and will call them in the future. In the past, I've used companies like A1 for odd things and while they did a fine job, I not only spent more and worried about trip charges, etc.,, but you never know who is coming out time after time. I like speaking directly with the owner/repair technician. I now have great filtered water coming out a lot stronger/faster than ever, and Ice in the ice machine! I appreciate and support small independent businesses like Larry, who stand behind their work and their customer referrals.

I have a front loader washing machine that wasn't sitting properly and I suspected that it had been dropped. It sounded funny and didn't seem balanced while spinning. Also, the panel below the drum was knocked to the left and wouldn't close all the way. I found this company on Angies List and left a message that was returned within the hour. Larry came the very same day. I could tell he enjoyed what he did and knew what he was doing. He didn't try to make money off of me by trying to fix it. He stated that it looked like it had been dropped and examined the inside of the machine and showed how the frame was all shifted. He told me that I should request that the moving company buy me a new one. Larry took pictures of the washer with his cell phone and sent them to the owner of the moving company, which I was so thankful for! I am so glad that I found Larry and i will definitely use his service again and i will tell others about him.

Larry was very professional and patient. I forgot to mention the problem with the microwave until he had already invoiced me for the freezer repair and dishwasher evaluation. He fixed the microwave, too, without acting impatient that I hadn't mentioned it before. He's intelligent and very professional.

The work turned out really good. They are timely, professional, and reasonably price.

He is the best maintenance guy we have ever had and I have been passing out his card all over the place. His price is very reasonable. He did a great job with us and he is very knowledgeable.

Able could not come as soon as I needed him so he referred me to Appliance Repair Heros who was on time and did an amazing job. The drain was clogged and he fixed that. He also chemically cleaned the coils so the old refrigerator would last longer, He replaced the ice maker so now we have ice again, replaced a valve that was not working properly and replace a burnt out light bulb in the oven. We are very pleased and recommend Appliance Repair Heros. The name of the company comes because he goes out of his way to hire returning Veterans. Reach Rigo Moncada at 940-230-0457. Able could not do the job when I needed him so he made sure the job got done by referring me to Appliance Repair Heros.

Do use Larry. He did a great job on our refrigerator. It had problems for the last couple of years and he did a complete inspection and found several problems. Gave me an explanation, quote and schedule to repair. He followed through. We are pleased with the repairs and service. I would recommend him to anyone.

I called Larry, he set the appointment. Came over to the house when he said he would and got it done quickly and effeciently.

It was fantastic. He did a good job. When I called Sears they wanted me to wait a week. Abel was able to come out within the same day.

It went very well. He was very responsive. He comes quickly. His prices are very reasonable for what he does.

It was great. He came out on a Friday afternoon and was very professional during the entire process. He had to install a recess valve and put in Freon. He was honest enough to tell me that the cost of repairing the refrigerator would cost more than getting a new one. He also informed me that I would eventually need a new refrigerator, and I appreciated his honesty.

I was very disappointed by Larry Garner's attitude and lack of professionalism. I cannot recommend Abel Appliance Repair. Larry, who owns the company, arrived late for our appointment, which took a week to set and tried to install a damaged part into my broken oven. He continually complained, "This (the repair) is wasting my time and I don't have time to waste!" and finally yelled to me, "I quit!” I paid him $60, his minimum service charge and he left. Although he did offer to install the part, once I ordered it instead of him finding a replacement part, but "he would call me if he finds another one". I've decided not to waste any more time on Abel Appliance Repair. I contacted Whirlpool directly and they're sending out a repair person by the end of the week.
