Abel Appliance Repair

Deimy was the repair guy and did an excellent job. He was professional and even helped me clean a birdnest from my outside vent to help things dry better. Will use them in the future.

Provider's website states that phones are answered 24/7. I called and left a voice mail on Saturday, 6/22/13. When no call came by Monday, 6/24/13, I called again. I spoke to Larry, mentioned that I got his name from Angie's List, and we arranged for service on Thursday morning, 6/27/13. He said he would call 30 minutes before coming. Thursday morning, I received a call from another man whom I assumed was an employee of Abel Appliance Repair. When he arrived, I found out that he was from a different company altogether. Larry was too busy and had passed the call on to him. Apparently, they do this quite frequently. The second company repair the dryer and did a fine job. The two men were very nice and professional. I think that is was quite unprofessional for Abel Appliance Repair to pass the work on to another company without informing me or asking my permission. They offer a 10% off coupon to Angie's List members. I had that coupon and it would have saved me a nice bit of money had I been able to use it. This was only my second time using Angie's List for a recommendation. Now I wonder how reliable the information truly is.

They were here a couple of times and it took about an hour. They were very prompt and showed up when they said they would show up. They came quickly. They weren't able to fix the problem the first day so they came back the second day to fix it. They didn't charge us the first day. They didn't charge us until they actually made the repair. They came out and looked at it and found the problem and then fixed it the following day.

The refrigerator had stopped cooling and we were afraid the food would be lost. Larry altered his schedule to come quickly. The repairs were completed before we had any damaged food. Thanks Larry.

It was a tad embarrassing for such a simple solution to necessitate a professional, but he explained why it happens, how to prevent it, and he also checked the rest of our refrigerator?s functionality to be certain nothing was failing.

Great. Jordan diagnosed the problem and showed me what had broken. He had the part on the truck and installed it with no problems. Larry had given me an estimate for the cost when I first called and it was accurate. Jordan was polite and professional.

My freezer in the garage had stopped cooling for the second time in two years. So this time I called Abel and spoke with Jordan and he said that he can come out that day. He then asked is anytime better than another and I stated that I would be home the rest of the day and anytime would be good. Just call when you are on your way. So he did and I explained what had happened and that I have had the fan replaced in the past so he looked at the condensor fan and sure enough it had stopped again. So just to get it started he took it apart and cleaned it and then called his father and asked if he had that part in stock. and he did. So his father said that he will be back that afternoon and again he showed up with the part on time. While he was replacing the bad fan he noticed that the part that was on their was not the correct part anyway. So he made sure that he supplied the correct part. They both were very professional and providing the details of everything they were doing.

They came out the morning after I called them. They were punctual, found the problem, replaced a part and then went on their way. Next time I have an appliance problem they will be the first one I call. Very happy with my experience with them.

I didn't think he did the work he was supposed to do, and I felt like he was being rude about it. He was supposed to fix the ice maker. He kept on insisting that this is what I told him. I was not happy with the service.

I called and talked to Larry about a repair to our freezer which we thought was not defrosting. Larry asked me about it over the phone and completely fixed the problem over the phone with no service fee. Very impressed that he diagnosed the problem which I could fix without charging me. I believe there are other technicians who would have come to my home and charged me for something simple I could fix. Thank you Larry!

All service was professional and thorough. He came when he said he would, showed me how to get the water running (with a hair dryer) and offered to come back and install a heater in the door of the fridge. I tried the hair dryer trick and it worked- we have water now!

He was able to do a "half fix" by replacing the chute rather than the entire assembly that would have cost about $300. Part of the icemaiker is still inoperable, but he gave me the choice rather than just telling me that I had to have the whole thing changed out.

This is the second time I've used Abel to repair my refrigerator. He always does a good job and gets me back up and going as quickly as possible.

Went well. The only part was that the total cost of the service including the turntable motor was about 160 including tax and a brand new microwave costs about $220. So, the price for the service which was about 20 minutes was a bit on the higher side.

When I first called, I spoke to Larry the owner and paid a deposit over the phone and he ordered the part. When it came in, Jordan came over and easily installed it. Everytime I called, some one answered on the other end of the phone, and every time I spoke to Jordan, it was always "yes sir, no sir". I felt respected as a customer and will definitely recommend them to others.

factory service was not available for a week so we called Abel who came out to determine problem and they repaired the leak the next day. warranty would have been free, but we would have to stop using washer for a week (not a hard choice given our laundry needs)
