1st Choice Foundation Repair Co

1st Choice was very thorough and helped us understand the process before doing any work. They also recommended that we get an independent foundation engineer so that we could have assurance that the work done was what was needed. They did the entire job (5 interior piers) in a single day for half the price of some competing quotes. Though interior piers obviously resulted in some damage to our flooring, 1st Choice did a good of job of keeping the damage to a minimum.

I was very satisfied with the overall experience. They came to the same conclusions as the other firms I requested estimates from and the quoted price was competitive. Ultimately, I did not contract with 1st Choice for my foundation repair, but I think I would have been very comfortable using their service.

He came out and spent an hour. When he looked at the foundation he told me that I did not need any repairs done and not to let someone come out and tell me it needed work. He was great. We were very happy with his honesty. He is simply outstanding. He was prompt and came out quick. We were very happy with his service.

It was hard to get together. I had to cancel the first appointment as I was in the hospital. Call several times and did not get a return call, so I put on Angie's List that I could not get a call back. Got call back came out and we agree on work and price. Started the job today.They are working in the rain some and in the mud. Said it would take 5 days. So far I am totally satisfied with their work. Will put a final comment when work is done.

A neighbor of mine was using 1st Choice Foundation repair on their home 2 doors down from me.I knew I needed to have my foundation repaired also.I observed their work at the neighbors,and found when they left,it didn't even look like they'd had any work done.I called,and talked with Jason at 1st Choice.Jason came out,and did all the measurements he needed.He explained everything they were going to have to do to fix my foundation.He was very knowledgeable,and very friendly.He said it was going to be a 2-day job.i explained to him that I didn't have any time to take off from work.It was no problem.We scheduled a friday-saturday time to do the work.On that Friday the foreman called me at work to say they were at my house and ready to start work.When I got home,it looked like a war zone around my house.It made me a bit nervous.The foreman reassured me that it was going to look great when they had finished.The crew was very friendly and respectful of my property.On Saturday after they had raised the house up,there was one issue I still didn't like was a slightly bigger crack in one of my bedrooms.the foreman did his best to correct that issue.When they were finished,they replanted my scrubs,and filled in all the cracks in the brick.I was very satisfied with their work.

Crew was friendly and professional and their work appears to have corrected my problem, but I was told to wait 60 days before sealing the small remaining cracks so will not be able to pass final judgement until the end of Feb 2013.

I received three bids for my foundation repair and decided to go with First Choice Foundation because they were the best priced and the most prompt in service. I called all three companies on the same day, but First Choice was the only one that could come out when I could be there after I got off of work (I didn't want to take off from work to meet for an estimate). Phillip Travis came to my home exactly as scheduled and gave me a very comprehensive explanation of the problem I was having (he took many measurements and explained everything). He told me they could start the work promptly (the other companies both said I'd have to wait until the could fit me in), and came just as promised. They fixed the foundation by adding 17 peers to my home and the problems I was having have all been corrected. They put everything back as it was before they came and cleaned up everything. They crew were very polite and efficient in their work. I am very pleased with the outcome, and will refer my friends to them.

We had had multiple foundation companies evaluate our home over the last few years. First Choice Foundation repair was extremely thorough in it's evaluation of the foundation. Their assessment was confirmed by an independent engineer. They were very accommodating to do the repairs on a Saturday. The foreman of the crew was very experienced and monitored the crew the entire day. They kept us updated thru the entire process and left our landscaping and yard very clean. We even had some sprinkler work done the following week and that company couldn't believe we had just had foundation work. We can't say enough nice things about First Choice, from the owners to the crew that did the work. We are the third family that has used this company in our neighborhood and we highly recommend them.

I contacted 3 companies to get an assessment of our foundation. We saw very slight cracks in the brick outside and were concerned due to the very hot summer in Texas in 2012 and the very hard soil that is known to expand and shrink. All 3 said we had some settling but didn't have to take action right away. I was uncomfortable with one of the companies who seems to want to just cut down trees now and wait a few years to do the foundation work at which time the cost could be much higher. I didn't feel our best interests were being considered. Philip, with 1st Choice, took the time to explain what happens with the foundation and when there are signs of a foundation problem. He was very professional during the assessment stage and took me through what he found inside and outside the house, the benefit we could gain where piers would be installed if we decided to proceed. He explained that we didn't have a foundation problem and any work now would be preventative. He answered all of our questions so that we could make an informed decision. Philip provided a quote and took me through what would be done. I'd considered having an engineer look at the foundation and Philip was very supportive. Once we got the engineers report, 1st Choice provided an updated quote based on that recommendation. We made the decision to proceed with the work as a preventative measure. I asked Philip to make one more visit to take my husband and I through what would happen and how the work would be done. He did not hesitate to come out again and we were able to walk through the process again so that we were all on the same page with expectations. The 1st Choice work crew was great. They were very courteous to us at all times. As they began working they were very careful in removing shrubs in order to access the needed areas, and in keeping the sprinkler system in tact. Our patio is covered with Texas stone which they took great care to remove a very large stone without breaking. We know that typically the stone may break so we were very pleased this was not the case. The crew took their time getting the work done. They had to dig deeper than expected but they were committed to doing quality work and did not rush at any time. The work took 2 days. When they were done, the shrubs were replanted with care and they cleaned up the outside. Extra dirt was place in other areas around the yard. I'd like to note that our neighbors had work done about 3 years ago. They were pleased with the company they used, however, that company is now out of business. Having a company who will be around to honor the work is very important and worth the cost. I would definitely recommend 1st Choice for Foundation work and will call them should we need anything in the future. We are very pleased that we chose to have them do the work and are happy with the lifetime transferrable warranty.

The crew arrived about 8:30 that morning and finished the job around 6:00 that evening. They were very professional and left that evening with no mess.

He was very professional. I like his professionalism and the price that he quoted me. The only reason I didn’t use him is because at the same time something else came up and I had to cut it off. I probably call him later on.

After having some sudden cracking in our entryway tile, we suspected we might have some foundation problems. Based on the great reviews on Angie's List, we contacted 1st Choice Foundation Repair Co. Jason came out the next morning to assess our issues. Fortunately, he concluded that we aren't at a point where we need any foundation work done, but he gave us some excellent advice on how to better use our soaker hoses to prevent further issues that could require foundation repair. Jason was friendly, professional and prompt, and he didn't charge us anything for his visit or assessment. If we do experience future problems with our foundation, we will definitely call 1st Choice.

They are a very very good company. They had a great price too. They are a very professional company. They gave me a list of references and they are also doing my neighbors house. They are also part of the better business bureau.

We got quotes from three or four different companies and we haven't decided yet. We haven't had the work done yet. They were the first quote we got. The experience went very well. All the companies pretty much found the same thing with the foundation problems. They were the least expensive of the four so they were the most affordable.

He came and inspected our foundation and concluded that the foundation did not need major repair at this time. He gave us fantastic pointers on how to keep the foundation from having worse damage. He was very honest and helpful. If I ever had problems again, I would definitely call this company.

I would recommend them to anybody and I will absolutely use him if I need him.

Overall, it went really well. They did the work in two days even though other companies told me it would take five or six. I was dealing with Chris and he gave me his personal cell phone number so every time I had a question he would call me right back if he didn’t answer his phone. It was a great experience, especially for the amount of money I spent. They were about $4000 cheaper than other quotes I got.

A crew of about 10 men arrived at my house about 9:00am on Friday morning.The foreman accessed the job and the men started work pretty quickly. The dug holes around the perimeter of the house and installed the piers. They were very professional. The men .worked very hard in spite of the 100 plus degree temps. The job was finished and cleaned up around 6 o'clock.

I have received 6 estimates ranging from $1600 to $6000, with 6 different recommendations. My father, who is a civil engineer, advised there was no problem with the least bidder and eventually I contracted them. They did a good job and were reasonably priced. I will continue to use their services in future.

We spent about $8000 for their service. It was really great. They were efficient. They got it done in the amount of time they said they would get it done. They were hardworking guys. They left everything clean. We haven’t had problems with our foundation since. We had several people who looked at the work and 1st Choice Foundation Repair Co was right in the middle, but they weren’t the cheapest.

Came out on first day when I wasn't at home. They dug holes all the way around the house and cleared access at each point. They did not need access inside the house. On the second day, they began installing the piles and did need access to the house for measurements as they jacked up each side of the house. Each time they entered the house they removed their shoes and never left a mess. After installing all the piles, they began to refill the holes they had dug and where they had to remove concrete, they replaced it. They filled with grout any cracks in the brick and returned the bushes they had removed. The only problem I had was a broken bird bath that I was wanting to get rid of anyway. With so much landscaping and earth moved, I'm surprised that was the only damage.

I spent $2500 on that work. They were responsive, responsible and cleaned up after themselves. They were quick to come out. I called them again because the foundation had dipped and they came right out to repair it.
