After noticing that my electrical box was tied into a natural gas generator, he suggested I get an electrician out. The electrician has come out and now we are waiting on a reschedule. He explained the different possibilities as well as potential cost if I had to replace some equipment.

Great. They never miss a week. Very timely. When I had a pump issue and called them, they were there within 30 minutes to do repairs. I would highly recommend.
Description of Work: Excellent pool cleaning service. Not only weekly cleaning but repairs as well. I moved to Texas a year ago and began using same company prior owners used. I was not happy. I used a second company, not happy. Poolscrubbers was recommended, 😀

I tried hard to get an estimate. Unfortunately... An employee came out and assessed and seemed very knowledgeable/personable, but an estimate was never received (even after it was stated one would be emailed by the next day). After almost a month and no estimate, I called to ask for it. Again, I was promised the estimate by the next day, and again, one was never received. Ridiculous.
Description of Work: Was hoping to get pool coping refinished/sealed as well as other miscellaneous items to get the pool summer ready after just buying a new home with existing pool, unfortunately, we never were able to get started...

I'm not sure why you never received the estimate but I checked and there was an estimate in QuickBooks so I resent it today . All we can say is we do our best. We take care of 100 pools a week plus all the service calls and estimates that we perform sorry we had a breakdown in communication and that you did not receive the estimate in a timely manner.

There was some miscommunication about when the job would start but those were worked out. The quality of the plaster job was adequate. There were lots of ridges and waves in it. I thought it could have been better but it was good enough for me to not complain about it. No one ever showed up to clean the pool as was supposed to be included in the replaster job. After 2 weeks I called and they sent somebody out quickly. He did a very good job. Next week no one showed. Another phone call and someone came out. Again on the 3rd week no one came out On the 4th week I didn't bother calling about cleaning, giving up. The real frustration was the heater installation. The heater worked only on the day the install was completed. The next day it would not light and the service heater light came on. After a couple of visits from various techs, I was told I needed a bigger gas meter to supply enough gas to feed the heater. Both the heater company and the gas company corroborate this opinion. No problem - I call the gas company and they will happily install a bigger meter as soon as they see the inspection report for the newly installed gas line. No inspection as required by the city was ever done. Six months later and numerous phone calls to try to get the gas line inspected and nothing has been done. My heater still does not work. The required inspection *should* have been done by the plumber that Pool Scrubbers hired. I paid Pool Scrubbers for the job, so it is ultimately their responsibility to make sure the plumber did what he was hired to do.
Description of Work: Hired Pool Scrubbers to replaster my pool and install a new pool/ hot tub heater. The replaster job included one month of weekly pool cleaning. A new gas line was required for the new pool heater.

This is really difficult to read, yes, we agree to almost everything said above. And we take comments very seriously, but an F? Not a C or a B? An F? We did make sure the plaster and heater job were done quickly and on time, for a fair price, and we have before and after pictures and the plaster looks amazing. As for the heater, we installed it correctly, on time, for the price we said we would do it for. The gas meter was not our issue (it was the pre-existing gas meter) The home owner did not know a plumber to call. The plumber is not a direct employee of ours, or even a regular subcontractor for us, we had to call around until we found someone that would do the work in that area of town. , we had to call him several times to get him to go back and get the permit and get it installed correctly, but we did everything we said we would do, for the price we said we would do it for. Sad that no matter what you do..there are just some people you can't please. We try, we really do, but there are some things that are just out of our control.

So we did some investigating and learned that what this customer described actually happened .. As a result we had to let one of our employees go .( due to this event and a few others) That is how seriously we take our customer service and our reviews . If you notice the customer was extremely satisfied at the speed price and competency of our heater installation but sadly one of our weekly service employees dropped the ball a few times and we had to make some changes . Once again thank you for the honest and timely feedback and we are so sorry that this happened . Please also keep in mind that we do between 10 to 15 service calls a day and take care of between 75-100 weekly service customers a week. Once this was brought to our attention we took the actions that we felt were necessary .. We would ask the others recognize this and continue to give us the opportunity to take care of our customers with the quality and customer service they deserve!!

I found Pool Scrubbers on Angie's List with an A rating with lots of reviews. I called and Chad came by, looked at the pool and what it would take to re-do the stone sealing. My wife and I prepared the pool by lowering the water level and prayed it did no rain. Chad arrived on Saturday morning and the whole process was done within an hour. The product he used dried with two hours and we were back in our spa that evening, the water in the pool was to cold for swimming. Over all I give Pool Scrubbers and A+ rating and will use them again when I need pool maintenance. I highly recommend them.

They did a good job on the repair and the cost was reasonable. They are not as good at contacting customers and keeping to their commitment on date and time. Corey, the son, is good at texting but, in general, they didn't come out when they said and didn't call to say that they weren't coming. I asked them back for another repair and when they didn't show up a couple of times, I used someone else that came out immediately. If you have a lot of patience and stay at home, you might use them.

This is why we love Angie's List! this is great feedback, and we appreciate it! As a result,we have looked into things and talked with Cody, and this is what we learned. After we repaired the leak, she let us know she thought her pool pump was out. Cody went back over there and discovered there was just a short in the main circuit board, we were able to get the pump running again, and we did not charge her. Apparently there was something else that she wanted done that did not make it on to the service schedule , she texted Cody and said that something else was wrong he went by a couple of times and could not get in the back yard, and it did not get placed back on the schedule to be taken care of. Thank you for the feedback, as always, we will work to improve in every way we can. else w

Chad arrived early in the morning as expected, and after explaining the job and listening to our other add-on work, he went right to work. He had an obviously deep knowledge of the various equipment and pool automation controller system that we have. Another worker arrived shortly thereafter with pool heater and the entire job was complete in about two hours. Before departing, Chad explained the operation of the new pool heater, warranty, etc. and answered any questions we had about the pool and the equipment in general, most of which were not even related to the work he came to do! He also did not "nickel and dime" us, performing the other minor repairs (replacing leaky pipe, pipe section, etc.) without any additional charges. Having experienced what other pool repair companies are like (this is our fourth pool), this company "The Pool Scrubbers" is a real gem! HIGHLY recommend - we will be using them for all future work.

We are so sorry this happened. We have reviewed the facts and spoken to our employees and the customers description of what happened. He called early in the week and asked for an estimate. Our receptionist did not look the address until Weds and realized it was clear on the other side of Lake Houston. When she called the customer and explained that it was just too far to drive for a free estimate and a filter clean. The customer got upset. She apologized and explained that it was her fault for not verifying the location up front and apologized over and over again. Bottom line is we were swamped last week and just did not have the opportunity to send our tech out on a one hour drive each way for a free estimate. She said if there were other things he wanted an estimate on if he would send us some pictures we would be glad to look at them and give him an estimate based on those (which usually works out to be pretty close). He did ask to have one of the owners call him and as of Friday we still had not. We are rectifying that, we will be giving him a call today. We are sorry this happened, just one of those times when things did not go as good as they could have. We are doing what we can to make it right. Thanks for the valuable feedback. We do over 50 service calls a week and we want to make all of our customers happy. We use these expeiences to try and improve.

Re-modelingwork was awesome, Matt did a really good job [2 years ago]. So we hired them to do weekly service. It went well at first but not so much recently. Pool water quality seemed worse. I finally took some to Leslie's for analysis. I had zero conditioner, high phosphates and high pH. The pool was not being swept, and I finally caught them out when I stayed home on the day of normal service. I got the usual "everything is OK" text, but they never showed up that day. Now my pool has algae, I am going to drain the pool and refill to get water chemistry back to normal. My salt cell has been not working and Pool Scubbers did not have the knowledge to find this out and inform me. HAte to write this, becasue Matt is a stad up guy, but his new partners don't have a clue.

Always two sides to every story...sorry [member name removed] was not satisfied, and we feel the need to address the comment that "the new partners don't have a clue" Chad and Linda Setzer have been partners and running the day to day operations of The Pool Scrubbers LLC since January 2013 (Matt no longer works in the field due to the illness and passing of his wife) . Chad has over 25 years of experience with pools and is capable of repairing and replacing every single part on a pool and runs almost every aspect of the field work. Cody is our lead pool cleaner and part time service tech is a certified pool operator with Galveston County and has 5 years experience. We take care of about 70 pools a week (weekly service) and do over 500 service calls and 50 romodel projects a year. So clearly we must have a clue about what we are doing. We are not perfect, we make mistakes, but strive to correct them and make our customers happy. Lastly although [member name removed] is not to he easiest person to deal with he has a right to expect excellent service. We are sorry we did not live up to those expectations and will miss having them as a customer. We will use this review as constructive criticism and strive to do better.

Chad and his team did an excellent job at a fair price. They re plastered the pool and spa and installed LED replacement lights and a pool medallion we had purchased elsewhere. They took the time to meet our exacting standards on the placement of the medallions. They also took the time to troubleshoot my spa blower, answer my numerous questions and reprogram our indoor pool controller. I would highly recommend Pool Scrubbers and will not hesitate to use them again.

All involved were courteous, with punctual estimate (since they live less than 2 miles from my home), and good communication throughout. Only issue was with my pool not having all the chemicals balanced, and having NO salt added even though I was told it was all done and was requested to (and did) pay. The tech left the pool water level/filler monitor on my back deck over the weekend, and that to me meant they weren't done yet. Went to have my water tested, and there had been no salt added to the pool at all, and my pool has a salt chlorinator.Called to bring that to their attention, and the tech was back out for 2-3 days to get the salt level correct without further prompting. All in all, they seem to be a family business that tries to keep their customers happy. I can't say that I was thrilled with the oversight on the water chemistry (had I run the salt chlorinator with no salt in the pool it could have damaged the cell), but they did come back and make things right. Will give them a B rating and the benefit of the doubt based on this service call, and not having done business with them before.

After emptying and acid washing pool, they returned on Monday to clean the DE filters and balance the chemicals. They called and said they couldn't clean the filters or balance the pool until we replaced our pump for $799. When we let them know our pump was new, they called back and said it started working, so they finished their work and we paid in full. By Thursday of the same week, the pool was very cloudy, and the pressure was very high on the filter, which seemed odd since the pool and the filter was cleaned four days earlier. There was also no sign of any residual DE that is typical when our filter is cleaned. After the tech returned several times, the owner Chad finally came out to balance the pool. I asked about the remaining stains in the pool and he explained that the acid doesn't run evenly down the walls of the pool so there are sometimes residual stains. At that time, he suggested using the pool through the summer and then he would return in the fall to try a new chemical additive technology that he heard works to remove pool stains and we agreed. We even hired his weekly pool service at $180 per month. After a few weeks of service, we noticed the water level was dropping much faster than normal and asked their pool technician to check it out, because we suspected a leak. He noticed the valve on the pump suction was set between "drain" and "skimmer" and said we were draining the pool. We have maintained our pool for many years and are not ignorant about the system. The valve he referred to is the suction to the pump upstream of the filter. With the pool losing water, circulation from the drain was preventing the pump from air locking if the level dropped below the skimmers. That valve does not drain the pool. That actual drain valve is downstream of the pump. After weeks of going back and forth, with the technician switching the valve to skimmer and me switching it back to split between drain and skimmer, I asked for Chad to return to see if we had a leak and was told it would cost an additional $100. By this time, after expressing my frustration about their technician's incompetence and the company wanting extra money on top of a very high pool service charge, they cancelled my service. They also refused to return to try the chemical additive to remove the remaining stains. I hired another service the same week they cancelled my service, and they began by cleaning our DE filter. Our new technician took before and after pictures of the filters and it became clear to me that they did not clean the filters after the original acid wash service. Not what I expected from a highly rated Angie's List contractor.

This has been a very disappointing outcome for everyone. Here are the facts from our perspective, on April 18 2014 we did an estimate to drain and clean, and acid wash the pool, we began that job on 5/3/14, and completed the work and were paid in full on 5/05/14. We had a few concerns raised after the fact regarding the balance of chemicals (not the outcome of the drain and clean) and we came out several times and did as much as we could to make them happy. Apparently they were happy enough with our work to ask us to maintain the pool, which we did from May-August. We had several issues personality conflicts with the customer. At one point she called our office screaming and called several of my employees terrible names (using profanity) which I will not repeat. She had treated our employees like this on more than one occasion. At that time we told her that we were not going to be treated that way by anyone, and told her we would no longer be doing weekly service. On 10/05/14, she sent us a message asking us to come out and fix the stains in her plaster that did not come out from the work completed back in May (drain and clean). I sent her a very polite response and explained that I was sorry to inform her that we will no longer being doing business with her or ever coming back on to her property. I explained that it was due to many of our negative interactions with her. I said we do not promise or represent that a drain clean acid wash is going to make your pool look like it has new plaster. That is why I post before and after pictures on our website. We do our best, but there are some stains that just never come out. I further explained that we were having issues with the pump being off, (not sure if it was a timer issue or someone shutting it off). In any case, we did everything we could but everyone has their limits. We had reached ours. Sorry this did not come out well. I again point out that we take care of 80 pools a week, we do over 5-10 service calls a day, up to 20-50 per week. We strive to deliver exactly what we quote on the estimate in a timely manner. We treat others as we would like to be treated. There comes a time when a business has the right to refuse service to those customers who become unreasonable, and sadly we reached that point with this customer. Sorry they were disappointed. We take all of our reviews very seriously, and we will try and use this as a learning experience and hope that our customers can read our other reviews and give us an opportunity to show that this one in particular does not represent our company. Thank you, Owners: The Pool Scrubbers LLC.

e only did the bottom, not the sides. #3 They "sealed" the fountain rock but I still have the same amount of sediment in the pool from the fountain. #4 I paid to have the mastic (?) around the pool removed and replaced. They called in another company to do this and they did a pretty good job but left a 2 inch hole going into the pool. I called them to get this taken care of and they assured me that the guy would come back to take care of this...have never heard from them again. #4 They replaced the filters(salt pool) and within a month had to call another pool svsc company because they had stripped the plug underneath the filter and it was leaking water badly and couldn't have on the pump so had to replace that part. Would not use this service again for any amount of $$!
Description of Work: I called to get my pool up and running for the season and also wanted some maintenance done and the fountain rock sealed. # 1 They kept calling to change the time of the service. #2 I paid to have the pool cleaned and th

Response from The Pool Scrubbers LLC
There are always two sides to every story..here is ours: We completed the work on this project on April 12th (not May 1st) for approximately $1000. She paid us in two phases (1/2 down and the other half when it was completed to her satisfaction), and we have done at least 50 service calls a week since then, so we were shocked to hear about this on July 16th?? We do our best on every job to complete every item on the service call ticket, and want our customers to be happy. In this case there were times we went there and the gate was locked, and we had to come back but as far as we knew everything was done to her satisfaction. As to her claim we use another company to do seal the mastic around her coping, yes we have a subcontractor crew that does our tile, plaster and coping, but they are not "another company." They are a crew, not a company. They work for us and do over 50 jobs a year for us and do an amazing job. As to her claim we messed up the bottom of her filter plug, we never even touched that piece of equipment. As to her claim the rock is still leaching sediment into the pool, we can't guarantee that sealing the rock will prevent any sediment, what we can say is that the areas of the rock that we treat should now repel water, and usually that improves the sand coming off the rocks. That treatment lasts about 8-12 months. We gave her the Angie's list discount, we thought we had done everything we had promised we would do. I wish more people would leave positive reviews (we do at least 10 Angie's List customer service calls a week, but most people are too busy to leave reviews) So often the only people that leave reviews are not happy. Sorry she was not happy.

Left a message asking them to call me back about stain removal from my pool. Very nice man returned my call within the hour and listened to me explain my problem. He offered a couple of solutions, one being his crew come out and take care of it at his price or I could do the same thing myself and told me how to do it!! In no way did he have to be that honest. He could have just sold me his repair effort and I would have probably hired him. On top of that I asked him a question about pool equipment and he gave me some free advise about it. Basically this just a comment about this company's integrity and honesty. If I ever have a pool problem again, they will definitely be the first one I call.
