I am an experienced Realtor and this is the second one of my personal homes that Edward Robinson and Professional Engineering has inspected over the last 14+ years. Even though I have a pretty thorough knowledge about construction and home building; Edward was able to answer detailed questions and to assist me in working with my contractor/builder to give me additional peace of mind! Edward always had my best interests in mind and was also able to work with last minute deadlines to keep my construction progress moving forward. I am so thankful that I had such a great engineer working with me from beginning to end! I look forward to many, many years in my new home!

Mr. Robinson spent between two to three hours evaluating all of the house inside and out. He explained all his findings and collected pictures and took notes as he went along. He also answered the many questions I had along the way as to possible causes and suggested corrections. He was prompt and professional. I feel confident that I can move forward on the repairs of the house, and not have to worry about paying to correct the same problems in a few years. .He provided a very detailed report along with color photos of areas of concern. A 44-page inspection report really saved us from the catastrophe of buying a home that had many hidden defects. We went on to find another house, and had Edward inspect it, also. This one was, comparably, in much better condition. My husband called Edward and he was so kind to spend lots of time on the phone with him, answering all our subsequent questions. It is soooo worth the money upfront to hire a professional engineering inspector, rather than buy a home that may fall down in a few years.

I hired a structural engineer before that did a very poor job, and a home inspector who was anxious on getting payment and leaving. Fed up with both of those guys (one who ranks high on Angie's list), I found Professional Engineering. They came out on time and were very professional. As they walked the property meticulously pointing out flaws and potential problems, they took the time to explain everything to me the why and how. They looked at a mind boggling amount of things from AC, roof, structure, garages, attics, foundation and more. It took well over 6 hours. In the end, they produce an extensive report that blew the mind of the builder and myself. They saved me thousands, and the repairs are being made without costing me a dime. I made my money back and more. The average home inspector would have not gone on the roof and would have finished in 1 - 2 hours. These guys are worth your time and money, and should rank higher. By the way, the report was over like 50 pages and had pictures and recommendations included. I typically will not give a company a review, but they did a great job and I would recommend anyone on the fence about buying a house to go with these guys. In the back of mind, its throw away $650 or double it to save money. The old pay me now or pay me later.

The service was fantastic. In a few hours we knew so much about the house that, although sad, we knew the project was too big for us. There were issues all the way around: structural, electrical, plumbing - you name it, it seems it was experiencing it. It's a chunk of money to spend on an inspection, but the engineering component is worth every penny. That "chunk of money" saved us an even bigger chunk of money! Conversely, if the house had been found to be in relatively good condition, we'd say the same thing: it's a chunk of money! However, it would have validated our decision to buy had it been in reasonably good condition.

I started process from industry ASHI website. Completed survey, we sent it electronically into office for scheduling. Callback was within 24 hours. I dropped other inspectors, and validate on Angie's list. Set and reviewed telephone quote. Our contract stalled due to realtor, and we called to cancel and reschedule. I was expecting a fee or charge to reschedule, I would have charged one or something. Company obliged and set us in a new schedule, second nice detail. Inspection day, Mr Robinson arrived a few minutes early and prepared. We were not, some details being have your stuff picked up and ready. About 3 plus hours, and we went on about our business. To summarize, areas you think are your concern are not the way some things turn out. We have a mix of natrual gas and electrical to a roof to be more focus on. Mr Robinson was able to narrow our foundation concern without a big discussion, level it. He set our focus on avoided maintenance and plans with remodeling. Reporting day, buyer and seller eager to get report. Report ready and thorough, with examples and photos. Prepare. Allow yourself about 3-4 hours to a narrative. I had to add 2 check boxes, those areas I really care about and those I need to know areas. It was easy to read and provided suggested costs, determined to stress importance of safety areas and ease of resolving those maintenance items. We got estimates and came in line with report. We feel that we have the right information and a baseline for future work, for an older home. Having always used inspecton on a new home (4), this was a first for our family to inspect an old home. And we have used inspectors right before new construction warranty ends to set matters equal. But this was a report, and grateful. After, we plan to use company to return after construction work and validate our plan to baseline. I'm sure it will be ease.

We have used Edward 2 times. Both times he was very thorough and knowledgeable. We were really appreciative of the information that he gave while he was there as a preliminary to what the complete inspection report would say. From start to finish we had a wonderful experience.

To cut to the chase, Edward did an excellent job. We hired him to inspect an approximately 4000 square foot house that we were considering. 4.5 hours later, we had enough information to make an informed decision. Thanks to Edward, we avoided purchasing a potential money pit. At no time did we feel like Edward was rushing through the inspection. Quite the opposite actually. By the end we were wondering when the inspection would end. He is extremely thorough. The price may seem high but we were considering purchasing a $345,000 home. Because of what Edward found, we exercised our option to terminate the contract. I consider it money very well spent. We will be hiring Edward the next time we need an inspection done.

Edward Robinson is extremely thorough. He determined that we had a major drainage problem. A few other problems were noted (a year into our home). Wish we would have hired a structural engineer (Mr. Robinson) before we closed on the home. Though he costs twice as much, it could have saved us a few thousand dollars.

No complaints about Edward and his work from us! We called him to get a home inspection for a house we considered buying. He arrived on time and got straight to work, climbing in the attic and up on the roof. In no time, he spotted a ton of problems with the house we hadn't noticed or had no way of spotting. For example, he found: leaks in the roof, a faulty A/C system, rotting siding, cracks in the fireplace, flood damage in the garage, an improperly hooked-up dishwasher, and a termite infestation before our termite inspector found it. I could continue, but you get the point; he's very thorough. Edward explained all his findings before leaving, and shared several previous experiences that gave us some insight and context. He saved us from buying an over-priced lemon. Edward is worth every penny!

The results of both inspections were disappointing, but Ed's work was exceptional. We would definitely use him again, a nd would recommend him to anyone considering a purchase as costly and meaningful as a home. I had actually used him to inspect another house a month earlier and his findings convinced me out of buying that property. When he did the inspection of my current property he was very thorough even though it was New Years Eve, and he really took the time to explain everything to me. As a first time homebuyer I had a lot of questions. He spent at least four hours going through the house, it's about forty years old, and pointed out a lot of things I should get taken care of. His report was great and actually helped lower the price of the house significantly. IIt was great to work with Edward and I would recommend him in the future.

First, Ed arrived on time on a rainy day. He promtly proceeded to work and readilly stopped and answered any questions I had(I had many). From the start I could tell Ed was very thorough and professional. He constantly pointed out areas that many other inspectors would have missed. His attention to detail is is reflective in the kind of report one gets. I had a few specific areas of concern and he meticulously looked them over and expressed his thoughts. To top it off, he even walked the roof as it was drizzling. The report I received was very thorough and informative with pictures, allowing me to negotiate repais and sales price. Even my realtor was suprised when I showed it to him. If you are wary about price, believe me you get what you pay for. Remember a home is possibly the largest investment we make and why wouldn't you want the best.

After a web-site request, Edward's team contacted us very quickly. The three inspections were very thorough, and Edward communicated well with other companies that were performing simultaneously other type of inspections. Edward was also very helpful and informative for every question we asked immediatly after inspection. Once the inspection was done, the team was also very responsive: When we reported a glitch in the report publication process, the problem was solved in 10 minutes on a Friday night (past 10PM). The report itself was also high quality and very detailed.

I found about this company from Angie's list and though had already committed to some other company ( because of their -self proclaimed- expertise in a problem area that was evident in this house ), decided to ask Profengineering for a SME inspection as I heard that a mechanical engineer carries out the inspection. On the day of inspection Edward was on time. In a very calm and composed manner ,one by one, he checked every nook & corner of the house and at the end of the inspection gave us a synopsis of his assessment . Next evening we found a detailed report uploaded on his website. I wish all my contractors share the same work ethic and knowledge about their work . He gave a very in depth yet 'matter of factly' account of the house. No scare tactics. No cross-selling.His report has been so comprehensive that we could actually decide on our next few steps to see whether we would want the house - exactly why we got the survey done :). There are numerous issues with the house but using this report we are contacting contractors and assessing whether we should buy it or not. I recommend Edward Robinson to anyone ,who needs an inspection done to decide whether he/she should buy a house or not.......Not only because of Edward's expertise in orderly going through each structural/mechanical/electrical aspect but also because of the way he articulates his assessment :-His approach in explaining issues is rational and full of reason. He does not exaggerate or undermine any issue but explains the possible/probable rational reasons behind the issues.Would suggest to ask specialists to look in to the jobs that he is not licensed/specialised to comment on.Did not try to sell any other service provider's service, even though I am very impressed by his Integrity and expertise and would blindly go by his reference. We had heard of this guy and he was a structural engineer and well recommended. We filled something out on the website and it came back at over $1000. I nearly had a heart attack. He's well known and supposedly really great. I was thinking $400-$500, not $1000. I guess he'd be good for someone buying a business that needed an inspection, maybe not for a house though. His website was well put together, easy to understand and submit your request. We got a response right away.

We ended-up not buying the house Ed inspected because of some problems he found. We just didn't want to deal with those particular problems! Ed's thoroughness and report are invaluable when buying a home. He is a professional engineer, which makes a difference in the quality of inspection! Not only would I use Ed Robinson's service again, I currently have a business relationship with him concerning my year-end inspection and warranty issues on the new home we did purchase. So, I would highly recommend his company.

I highly recommend shelling out the extra money for a certified engineer as opposed to a regular home inspector. My sister did not take our advice on this, and the measly $100 or so dollars she saved cost her $1,000's later. Edward has always been prompt and a pleasure to work with.

They were prompt to respond to my online inquiry. I called and scheduled the inspection after they gave me the estimate via email. Mr. Robinson was on time and very professional. His inspection was thorough and he took the time to explain a lot of things to me. As a first time home buyer, I was very appreciative of his experience and anecdotes. His report was comprehensive and he responded quickly when I emailed him a slightly unrelated question asking for his opinion. I will definitely use him the next time I need a home inspection.

Ed is very professional and is an engineer, which is preferable to a non-engineer when inspecting a home. He was extremely thorough. He was very friendly and made things easy to understand. His inspection revealed why we would not buy the house he looked at for us.
