I contacted Carlos to assess the 1930s wood floors in my new house to determine what needed to be done to get them back in shape. He was very prompt to get back in touch with me and scheduled a measuring two days later, where he determined that I just needed a fresh coat of polyurethane. His bid for the work was very well priced--about a quarter of the estimate I got from another vendor who proposed similar work. Carlos and his assistant were able to work within my tight timeline, performing the work on a Sunday morning less than a week after we first talked. So far the quality of the finish seems to be excellent. Couldn't have asked for better service.

A very small portion of our engineered wood flooring (1' by 3") needed to be replaced. Mr. Diaz promptly responded to our call, completed the repair in a few hours and left the flooring looking as good as new. All of the big companies wanted to replace the flooring in the entire room.

Diaz gave me a quote right away. He arrived on time the day of the job. He and his employee got to work right away. I was happy with the results. I would recommend him to anyone needing wood flooring repairs/installation.

Carlos returned my call before I could even finish my voice-mail to him. He came out to look at my floors within 3 hours. He and his crew repaired my floors in one day and they look great! I would highly recommend Carlos and his crew. They were on time, did great work, and went the extra mile...........

He was FAST, FAST, FAST! Called for estimate and came in the next day. Gave me the best price. Could have done the job the following day, but we were waiting for other work in the house to be done first. As soon as we were ready for him he was there! He finished the job in ONE day! I was expecting a couple of days! He also does texting. I find that helpful. Sanding and refinishing the floors didn't take out the dents as I had hoped and I did notice some discolorations or stains in the wood after I viewed his work, but in all honesty, that may have been there before and I just didn't notice it. I would use him again and recommend him.

retty living room floors, He quoted a price and we began. I was very happy with his helper and they did a really good job. The problem arose when we were getting close to finishing and realized we had different ideas about how much work was going to be done for the price. After much haggling and arguing, I agreed to split the difference between my estimate and his. His was very angry, and at first would not compromise, even though I had. He just could not understand that if we both had different ideas about the extent and price of the job, then both compromising was the only fair solution. Carlos would not negotiate and threatened to out a lien on my home. I am a senior citizen, and was more than willing to lose money on the job by leaning toward his idea of the estimate, but he would not budge. To make matters worse, he shut down and would not communicate well with me about the rest of the work. He has also had a sheet rock guy come in to remove the bottom two feet of sheet rock around my dining room. the man came in with alcohol on his breath and his work was shoddy and amateur, with the tape showing through and bumps all along the wall. Carlos did not stand behind this work, letting me try to get my money back from the man myself. (I never did). Honestly, I think Carlos does a really good job on the floors. But his communication needs work. He did not provide any written estimate of the work he promised to do, and at what price. And as a consumer, I didn't ask for a written estimate either (big mistake). If Carlos has just said along the way, that the job was bigger than he expected, or that he could see that we had two different ideas about what was to be done, we could have worked it out. But I mentioned the bedroom floor many times, asking if it was going to be done the same way as the living room, what date he was going to start the bedroom (he gave me a date), etc. But in the end, he claimed he never agreed to do the bedroom. And he refused to do it. So in the end, we both lost money! I have waited for several months before writing this, because I did not want to be harsh, but rather fair in my review. Again, the beef I have is not with the quality of work on the floors at all. But the constant miscommunication, lack of professionalism when a problem arose, refusing to take responsibility for his own estimate and his sheet rock guy's shoddy work, the lack of written estimate, and lack of ownership for the lack of written estimate. It all proved to be overly stressful, costly (even though the original estimate was great for what the work included), and very frustrating. And my dining room still has bumpy taped sheet rock, and my bedroom floors were never done.

Carlos started on time and completed on time. Floor looks great.

He did a spectacular job! He and his crew were always on time, they were very courteous and very anxious to make sure they delivered what we asked for. I would absolutely hire him again and encourage anyone considering him to hire Diaz Wood Floors!

He was top notch, but I didn’t use him. I probably should have used him, but I chose to go with a contractor that my mother had used. He was very prompt and was there at my house when he said he was going to be there; he was there the same day I called. He quoted me about $6000. He came out, measured and text messaged me the estimate about a couple of days later. He was really great. The only drawback I had with him was that his command over the English language was a little sketchy and there was a communication barrier between us. I was a little bit skeptical about his field, but I shouldn’t have underestimated him. I would probably use him in the future for the other jobs that I have.

Excellent job, professional and hardworking. Mr. Diaz was on time and worked hard to get it done right. Would use him again in a heartbeat.

Highly recommend. Carlos is prompt, efficient, does a great job and for a reasonable price. His associate was also nice. They worked over Memorial Day weekend with very little notice. They cleaned everything up when they were done.

They did okay. When they came to do the estimate it was 9 o'clock at night but when they did the work they were on time. The repair was excellent but they could have done better with polishing the floor. The price, quality, and professionalism are good. I would use them again in the future.

They came by after a couple of days from my inquiry but I didn’t use them. They seemed to be very cordial. They seemed to be extremely busy. It took them a while to get back to me with the quote. It took them six or seven days to get back and by that time I had already selected someone. I probably would have used them if they had stuck around. The only reason I didn’t use them was because I found another company that helped me through the entire process of picking up the wood and were very knowledgeable. That kind of service would have been a problem with Diaz’s Wood Floors. They are very professional people; they are just really busy.

Carlos was genuinely interested in satisfying our desires. He began by listening and asking good questions. His proposal reflected a good understanding of the job, and his price, although a bit higher than other quotes, was reasonable. He arrived promptly, demonstrated a high level of organization, and completed the job within the arranged time frame.

They were very good, but I needed to have a company who could supply both the flooring and the installation.

The results are terrific - the floor and molding look great. From the time I first called Carlos Diaz until the time the floor was done was about a week and a half. Carlos was on top of it the whole time. He was in frequent contact to let me know what was going on, and not only kept appointments but generally showed up early. This was a great relief, sine I had recently let another company go because they failed to show up for two appointments without calling me (they are not on Angie's List). One of the things that was special about this job was that a piano had to be moved out of the living room. Carlos and his helper were fine with that, and the three of us wheeled a baby grand piano out into the hallway (which was just big enough to hold it) and covered it with plastic. They moved other furniture as well and were very careful about it. It took a day to remove the old wood and glue (which in some places required a solvent with a pretty strong odor), and another day to finish cleaning the glue and float the floor. The third day the water proofing went down and the wood was installed, and on the last day they put in the molding and cleaned up. By the way: The floating of the floor is done with concrete, which needs to be sanded after it dries. This generates a very fine powder that gets everywhere. They put up plastic to cut down on powder getting into other rooms, but it still took some time to clean up. Just so you know... Overall I was very pleased. The two of them were very professional, and nice guys. They did a great job. If you want wood floors, give them a call.

It was a little bit slow in getting a call back from them. I will use them again in the future to get a quote from them.

I couldn't be happier with Carlos' work! I used Carlos to finish the floors in our office a few years ago - it's a victorian in the Montrose district - and those floors are wearing like iron and are still quite beautiful. I recommend Carlos with absolutely no reservations. He's there when he says he will be, he works a long hard day and doesn't complain, his attitude is sterling (and trust me, we've had real problems with other subs and their attitudes!). Genuinely one of the "good guys"!!

I had an excellent experience. Carlos met with me to give me an estimate and began work immediately. He was professional and gave great attention to detail. It was important to him that I was pleased with his work. Both my husband and I were very happy with his services and recommendations. Carlos offers creative solutions for difficult projects. Our home is old and our sunroom addition is not level with the family room. Therefore, installing the laminate took longer than expected; Carlos worked until he got it right and did not charge me a penny more!!! He stayed true to his estimate. He even used his own materials where needed.
