+ -1 moreInitially it went well. So why the bad review? They aren't servicing the contract. We have a ten year guarantee. There are dry spots. I have supplemented watering to them, but they really need to modify the system. Once they have the money, they aren't interested. DO NOT USE. On the day of the install, this was still a rental property, which we intended to move into, and we needed it done right. This is on me, that I didn't follow up more aggressively, but the system worked, as far as the renters were concerned, and we weren't in the house yet. It was only after we moved in, that I started seeing the problems. I was actually on the property the day of the work, and the foreman talked fast and was gone. It was later that I began to see problems. Again, if you want good service after the sale, this is not the company for you.
Description of Work: This is an update for a prior satisfactory review. We contracted with Wood's Landscape and Sprinkler service for a turnkey system. They charged about 900 more, but provided landscape lights (which we love) and a ten year warranty, which is unheard of. There is a reason for this. They don't intend to keep it, or put you very, very low on the list. They installed a system, but it included three dry spots. The first "checkup"--there are supposedly 20 provided over 10 years--don't fall for this by the way--went fine. The tech found a broken pipe at the check up, and noted that one dry spot was in the middle of the yard. We didn't get head to head coverage, and really needed a center head, but still don't have it. Also, on the north side, there is one bed that has NOTHING, except the foundation drip, which does not really water the plants. There is another spot, where there is a bed, but at the time no plants, so they just didn't bother. The system works, but doesn't work well. I had a Fort Worth city service (H2O Grow) come out and they noted some problems, along with the fact that the master valve was installed backwards. This doesn't matter if you have a leak, but if you do, it matters a lot. When I noted this with the company, the mail was ignored. When I called the contact number, it was ignored. When I started texting, the response was curt. (We'll put you on the list. ) Then, nothing for two weeks. So finally, I said, "I think we'll find another service." Their response, "fine". Do not use this company.

+ -1 moreThe workers arrived on time. They worked very diligently. The only thing I did not like was that they did not provide a receipt for the work done. I contacted the owner and was told that my cancelled check was my receipt. We also did not realize the name of the business changed to Balwood so after writing the check we had to write "Bal"in front of Wood on the check. I contacted the owner to verify if this was legit. Other than this, I would recommend this company.
Description of Work: Repaired two broken sprinkler heads and removed two more sprinkler heads. Tested the entire system

+ 0 moreApproximately 3 years ago, this company installed a complete sprinkler system for us. They did a fabulous job and we were thrilled with the results. This spring, one of the stations quit working. I contacted Mr. Wood and he sent Luis out to fix the problem. Luis showed up exactly when he said he would (always a plus in my book) and discovered that we had inadvertently cut the wire to that particular station (probably when we moved some landscape lights around). He fixed it lickety split and also fixed a rusted connection to my rain gauge. The system is working perfectly once again. Thanks for a job well done!

+ -1 moreWe looked around for about a year or so to find a good sprinkler installer. We discovered many had gotten out of this business market. However, thanks to Angie's list we found one and also received a great deal on the quote (Sept., off-peak work)! Woods did the full, professional job: layout design for review with the quote; answered our questions (since we are new to having this type of lawn feature); and on the day of the job: thorough trenching (even under sidewalks and into the plant beddings); they used high quality components (heads & springs). We couldn't be happier! I waited sometime after the job for my review, to assure my happiness was well warranted: it is! Woods does a fantastic job in sprinkler systems design & installation.

+ -1 moreWe were about 80-percent satisfied with this service. The performed the work as expected but there were some details that could have been done a little better. My satisfaction is a matter of degree, rather than black or white. We had some extra work done on a frost-free exterior faucet, but it was not installed properly. However, they did a fine job installing the sprinkler system. We had to have someone else come in to fix the frost-free exterior faucet, because this work was beyond the scope of what they normally do. The people who installed the sprinkler system were very good and got the things done that needed to be done. Their core business is sprinkler installation and they do it very well.

+ -1 moreWe called first to schedule the annual inspection. No one returned our call. Called a second time to schedule the inspection and to also schedule a time form them to come out and move three sprinkler heads that are in a area where we plan to build a new shop. This time we received an e-mail stating that a man named Louis would contact us. We ended up calling him. He told us they would come by on Wednesday 3/27 to see what we needed done and then would be out on Monday 4/1/13 to do the work. Louis did not show up on Wednesday. I called Louis Wednesday night and he said they would be out Monday to do the work requested. I asked that he call me if they could not make it on Monday because I needed it done ASAP. Louis called today and said they would not be doing the work and he gave no reason for not doing the work or the inspection. Jim Wood never contacted us again after the intinal instalation and Louis did not speak good english and to say the least was very hard to understand

+ -1 moreThe crew showed up right on time and completed the job even more quickly than estimated. They placed five stations throughout my yard and guaranteed full coverage. When they were done, they turned the system on to show me how to work the controller. I was thrilled with the amount of water that I got from the system. It will be such a pleasure to only have to run the system for 15 mins. per station 3 times a week instead of the hours and hours and hours I was having to water in the past. Can't wait to see the smaller water bills, too. Thanks to Jim, Mike and the gang for a job well done.
Description of Work: We had put in a sprinkler system ourselves 25 years ago when we were one of only a handful of houses on our street. Since the area has built up incredibly since then, the water pressure has dropped and we've had difficulty getting the sprinklers to water adequately. Well, after many years of dragging hoses and manual sprinklers, we finally bit the bullet and decided to have a professional system installed. Got three quotes and decided to go with Woods Landscape & Sprinkler Service. Not only was their bid competitive, it was by far the most professional quote (included a computerized drawing of our home with placement of all stations / heads) and they were able to begin work in just a couple of days.
