We had some bad experieces with the insurance adjuster 6 months earlier. When we had additional damage, we spoke with Roof Rescue and Roy met the adjuster at the house. Roy spoke up for us, the homeowner, and made sure that the adjuster took everything into consideration. We really appreciated that. This second time around the roof was totaled. Additionally, Roof Rescue (Roy Morrison) did exactly what he said he would do and in the time frame he told me. From start to finish it took them 1 whole day...and that included taking off 2 layers of old roof and putting on our beatiful new one!! The crew he used was professional, courteous and paid great attention to detail. We were astonished at how clean the yard and scrubs were after they were done...no nails in the yards, no damage to any of the landscape, etc. Roy had also told me that we wouldn't have any out of pocket expense which meant he would be obsorbing our deductible...and he did the job for the amount the insurance paid for the roof. Amazing!! An honest, dependable contractor...they DO still exist!!!
Description of Work: After much negotiation with our insurance company, our roof was finally totaled. Two layers of old roof had to be taken off, some decking replaced and a new roof put on.

Insurance adjuster meeting completed prior to the contract written was completed in a timely fashion. The work was completed within 2 days and the insurance paperwork filed timely for reimbursement of funds. The crew cleaned up with minimal interruption of my household. This was for the upper roof. The second part of the project was done over time with a small , capable crew and went smoothly as well. There was a need for some project plan changes as the project progressed, and the details were worked out to accomodate all the unusual issues involved, including steps, a ramp, and coordinating with an older small deck area. Follow through was excellent.
Description of Work: I highly recommend this company for the services provided. I had an unusual situation due to the nature of the original building and several additions / remodeling. Roy met with the insurance adjuster prior to the work. This turned out beneficial, as the adjuster allowed more for repairs than if Roy had not been there. My roof repair included 2 different areas. There was an upper roof on the main part of the 2nd story house and I spent only my insurance decuctible for the repair, which included a shingle upgrade and new turrets. Out of my pocket for the upper roof was nothing . Due to some remodeling done over the last 30 years, one area was problematic , but they took care of the this area with excellent problem solving. The main roof was completed in February during the warm weather. The 2nd part of the work was to repair a lower roof area over the single level garage and long storage area that had a flat roof. Due to the angle of the pitch of the roof, it was not a permanent solution to redo as the last repair with shingles. The original garage and storage was a tin roof covered w/ shingles, and had constant problems due to foot traffic in the last several years. Roy and his workers had to do some complicated design concepts to solve for this unusual situation, and the final solution was to meet a dream of mine to have a deck on this large area which was equal to 3 small decks . The old shingles were covered , sealed and the deck put over . The deck process was done during February and March 2012. Roy did an amazing job with coordinating the project, staying in touch with me to work out details, keeping in mind the use of the area under the deck regarding placement of the supports. He provided code level work for a place in the country that does not have to have permits to do remodeling/ repairs. It has twice passed high winds and rains already. Roy followed through with all the details , checking the work after the project was completed , and making sure it was entirely to my satisfaction. He took an interest in upgrading an "old place" to help achieve it's potential. It was important for me to have a company that was easy to stay in touch with, and that worked around an unusual situation, and still make it affordable. The work for the deck/ lower deck repair was considered a separate price that the original roof, as it was decided between Roof Rescue and myself to make it 2 projects instead of 1, and he used 2 different crews for the work , finding the correct workers for each project. I spent about $15,000 for the lower roof repair and large deck area for increased value of $26, 000 per home value. I was highly impressed with the contract and attention to details so the plan prior to the work was very clear .

Response from Roof Rescue LLC
This project as a whole was a challenge but also a pleasure to do thanks to the member's patience and input where needed. The 2nd story roof over the house had a porch stabbed onto the old original roof and due to the low slope of the porch roof there was a substantial amount of decking that had to be replaced due to leaking and water backing up under the shingles from the gutters over the years. Due to the low slope we placed "Stormguard" in all the proper elevation changes under the new shingles to insure that water could not back-up under the shingles as it had done in the past. We upgraded the roof from a 3-tab 20yr shingle to a dimensional 30yr shingle so that wind damage could be minimized in the future due to the new heavier shingle. The lower roofs over the storage areas had low slopes as well and were in bad shape with asphalt shingles over corrugated metal and had suffered from animal and human traffic. After evaluating several solutions we decided that the least expensive and most practical solution was to place corrugated metal back over her existing conglomeration of roofing and to not allow anymore foot or paw traffic. About this time the member had mentioned that her past dream had been to put a deck over the whole thing but that she never got around to it and wasn't sure if she could afford it. I mentioned that I used to design and build decks for a deck company and also for my own deck company (Deck Wizards) that I had mothballed about 8 years ago before I started Roof Rescue. The member got excited and I went to work figuring out all the problems and solutions we would face with using her existing structure's support system, adding new beefy supports (6x6 posts), and what we would need to do to still remain code compliant and more importantly make it structurally safe. We were able to eliminate any new penetrations through the old roofs and we built this 1700 sq. ft. albatross of a deck with two different levels (one at about 11 feet high and the other at about 14 feet high with the old roofs sloped below the decks). This lake house now has a deck wrapped around it that looks like it was always there and it really makes a beautiful and one day profitable investment.
