Don’t use OGD! We have paid them $895 since September and our garage door opener doesn’t work at all and they’ve stopped returning our calls! 9/18/20 Had OGD come out to service an existing door and evaluate the garage door opener attached that had not been used in years. We had just completed an overhaul of all the siding on the garage and were ready to start using it. The garage door was serviced, and we were advised the existing garage door opener was in good shape to last for years longer and to buy clickers for it online since it is so old they don’t stock that vintage (in hindsight possibly if it’s so old the clickers are not easy to find we should have pushed to replace it??) 12/14/20 Clicked our opener sometime before this date and the motor did not smoothly open the door but rather the garage door become crooked, halfway open popping off several of the rollers. The technician was able to come out on 12/14. Technician did not mention a fault with the garage door opener, just that the limiter had moved from vibrations from it so the opener was opening it too far up and trying to close it further than it could go creating the problem. This also ruined the flexibility in several panels so we scheduled to have a new crossbar installed across the entire door. 12/31/20 Technician came out to install the new crossbar and to make sure the system was set for us to begin using again. We were told everything was good, and we shouldn’t encounter any more problems. 1/3/21 Came home and closed the garage. Saw my cat run in before it fully closed, and realized my phone had fallen out in the car. Clicked remote less than a minute later to re-open. Nothing. No noise, no movement. OGD says it is open on Sunday so I called them for advice to get the door open before work at 8am Mon, for the phone and the car. This detached garage doesn’t have another entrance. We were told at 3 and 4 pm that they understood this was an emergency and someone would be in contact. At 5 the phone started going straight to voicemail. No one ever called us back. 1/4/21 Called OGD at 8am and the person who answered the phone told me that they would not be able to help me “break into” a garage and no one would come out. Even for an existing client. Asked for a manager. Was not called back. Successfully broke into my garage. Called every two hours to see if a manager would talk to me. Never spoke to one, but was offered a late appointment with a technician. The technician was able to come out in the evening and confirmed 1) the door is safe, even after I broke in and works perfectly 2) the garage door opener is old and no longer works. When the button is pushed it now either grinds, is silent, or tries to work but can’t. Since 1/4/21 We have spoken to a couple of people that said they were going to consider replacing our unit. Since Wed. 1/6/21 we have not had our calls returned or been contacted by OGD. Bad advice to not replace the unit lead to a hugely expensive repair of the system that is more than the cost of a standard new opener! Had to push to even have someone come out to see if the door was safe when it quit working 4 days after they were here!

Terrible. I rated a D instead of a F b/c I have used the company 2x before and didn't have any problems. I contacted the company Thursday late afternoon b/c I was having garage door issues and had to leave the house for a concert. The garage door would not stay down, and kept going back up and making a jack hammer noise once it reached the top. I contacted Overhead Garage, and the gentleman asked if someone needed to come out right now. I informed him, I wish I could wait for someone but I had to leave for a concert that was starting in an hr. I asked for someone to come out tomorrow. The rep. advised a technician would be out the next day b/t 8am-12pm, I was grateful. I was able to close my door manually but not able to lock it. At 7:25am I received a call from a female rep w/Overhead Garage who informed me a technician would not be coming out to service my garage door b/c my address did not work with the pre-made service calls on the technician's map. I informed her this was an emergency b/c anyone can open my garage door, and I am flying out of town at 3pm today. The female rep. again informed me there was nothing she could do, and "i hope you get your garage door fixed". Totally unprofessional. I called several garage door companies, from 7:30-9am to help me during this short time, when finally i came across 1 company they advised they were very busy, but was able to squeeze me into a small window b/t 10-12p. Family Christian Doors came and assessed my problem. They advised the problem wouldn't be solved today b/c the motherboard had been blown and would need replacement. But they attached a lock to my garage door, so at least I could open/close my garage and lock it until the part arrived and was replaced. I wish I would have received just a slight bit of their customer service from Overhead Garage Doors. A lock ($50) solved my problem temporarily.
