 + -1 moreIt was more work than I expected as I had a Spa company out first and they had to replace a pump in the Spa a week earlier. It was a long frustrating journey but John from Mountaintop evaluated the situation, found the problem, and repaired it. It was costly because it was unexpected and more than he first thought it would be. I had just paid for another service for more than I had anticipated from the Spa company but in the end well worth it to finally get the Spa up and running. I feel safe in using the Spa now that John has corrected all of the electrical problems and he has a 2 year warranty on his work!
Description of Work: Did a diagnostic evaluation on the wiring for an above the ground Spa. Then had to run totally new wiring to it. Discussed all of te work prior to the job with a full disclosure of the cost in writing. Excellent job!

He did an excellent repair job on the fuse box .The electrical problem was not an obvious one, but he checked a few things and did find it and quickly fixed that also. He is very experienced and professional. I will definitely use his services again if the need arises.
Description of Work: I needed a large fuse box reattached to the wall, and I needed an electrical problem diagnosed and fixed.

 + 0 moreThis is the third time we have used John. He is always pleasant and professional and really knows his stuff. He always makes sure that he is doing things according to the codes. He is very reliable.
Description of Work: Added some receptacles and switches, added waterproof receptacle outside, changed a recessed light to accept a chandelier, changed several regular switches to dimmer switches, put up some track lighting, found that our electric meter panel was not grounded properly and could have been a hazard, so he fixed that also.

He even retrieved the property's key from another location and returned it off site after the job was complete. John made sure I knew exactly what the costs would be and didn't try to add on unnecessary work. Great experience! I highly recommend John and will absolutely use him in the future.
Description of Work: Repaired breaker problems which prevented proper power to hvac units and checked that hvac units were receiving power. Also helped with preventative measures with a damaged hot water heater and didn't charge extra!

 + -1 moreI opened the conversation with "I found you through Angies LIst . . . " and it went very well from there. He was prompt, showed up that same day and even wore paper booties inside the house to protect the carpet, etc. He had the problem partly fixed the first day and completely solved (needed to get the heavier wire) by the second visit. We're very happy with the result.
Description of Work: He diagnosed a problem that had been ongoing for about 10 years. We have eleven small square windows that are about 25 feet up off the floor and three of them were supposed to be motorized to open up to release hot air, but had NEVER worked. He charged separate fees for diagnosis and repair. The first thing he noticed was that the wiring inside the wall had not been connected to the wall switch. (That's good ol' Texas new home construction for you.) Then, after calling the manufacturer of the window motors, it was decided that the wiring inside the wall was not heavy enough to supply power to the farthest window - the resistance was too great. So he ended up having to pull heavier-gauge wire through the walls up to the window motors. Now all three window motors are motorized, but the center one gets stuck, which is not an electrical, but a construction issue which will have to be fixed separately.

He was very punctual and even gave me a written estimate before he started the job. When he was almost done, I realized that I needed an electrical outlet box fixed. He fixed it for me and even went out to get the proper face plate for it. He just charged me for the part and didn't charge extra for fixing that for me. He really is a nice guy! Will use his company again in the future.
Description of Work: Installed 2 sets of floodlights and switches for the back and front of the house. Disconnected a stove that was hardwired into the wall and installed an outlet for the new stove. Fixed a loose electrical outlet box.
