 + 0 moreWe contracted for the work and required that they produce insurance, which they did. They arrived promptly and removed the tree in the backyard first as we requested, so our dog could have use of the yard. The entire project took 1 1/2 days. The crew was working the entire time, with only a short break for lunch. Two of the trees were very close to the house, and were removed with absolutely no damage to anything. Clean up was great. Not even a stray leaf was left. From start to finish, they were very professional. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.
Description of Work: Removal of 3 large maple trees (approx. 25 yrs. old) and pruning of 15 yr. old live oak tree.

 + 0 moreWe probably haven't used them for about a year. They were really good as far as the lawn was concerned. Their lawn care was really good. They did some other work for us. They replaced the fence for example and I think that at least at that point in time they didn't really have the expertise to do the job correctly. They worked hard on the fence, but as I recall it took a long time to get the finished product to the point where the job could be done satisfactorily. They were very reasonably priced. I thought they did a very good job for us on the lawn but they didn't do as good a job on some of the other things. They were very responsive. I don't think we would use them again. These grades are for the lawn work; they would get a and ldquo;Band rdquo; on some of the other things they did.
Description of Work: We used Malagon Landscaping for lawn work. We used them for four or five years.

 + -1 moreFor quality I would give them an A for gardening and an F for everything else. Their professionalism would be the same. We would use them again for gardening but absolutely not for anything else.
Description of Work: As gardeners they are excellent. As for hiring them to do anything else, I would say "No". We hired them to put up a fence. It took forever. We had to go out and tell them how to do it. They thought because the ground rose slightly that the fence should be level. They were cutting the bottom off to make it level. They also used a lot of green wood and wood with huge knots which we ended up making them repair. They installed the fence with the smooth side toward us which we didn't want. They got a third of it up before we caught that. They were incredibly slow. They also put one of the pot in my back neighbors yard. It juts into their property. Instead of just buying a gate, they built one which has fallen apart many times since then and is missing a piece now. A couple of months ago, as they also do our next door neighbors yard, they left both our gate and our next door neighbor gate open. Their dogs got out and attacked our cats to where we had a $3500 dollar vet bill. My husband called them and they never made any offer to help with the financing. At the time I was more concerned about getting the cat well. Malagon's response was that he would talk to his guys about it. We still have them doing our yard because they do a really good job in the yard. They are very efficient, fast and polite. Sometime they are so fast that they are sloppy.

 + -1 moreHe left a card at my home and I called him. He came and gave me a quote for adding grass (St. Augustine) to my yard. He did a great job with the removal of the old grass but he kept increasing the price. He also put in three french drains. The drains were done well and the grass was done well. He brought his crew in and got the job done, he cleaned up nicely too. My problem is that he kept increasing the price after we were well underway. He kept "finding" things that needed to be added. I understand that this happens but what originally was a $3,500 quote jumped up to $6,000! He add additional sprinkler heads and new control box as well. I also recevied a very his water bill ($355) the next month and I attributed it to all the watering I did to make sure the grass got a good start. The month after that, I received a water bill for $800!! I called Mr. Malagon and he assured me he would get someone out. I had to call 3 or 4 times before that happened. I was very disappointed and am now looking for someone else to come and solve the sprinkler problem since he came out and it is still leaking.
Description of Work: New sod over entire yard, three french drains installed, replaced three sprinkler heads and added two more to system, new control box.
