At first the quality of the house cleaning was decent. After the initial few months, it seemed there were new maids coming for every visit. The bathrooms were cleaned fairly well but the floors were given a quick mop at best. Dust bunnies were left under the furniture and distinct cleaning lines formed around light weight chairs that could have easily been moved for proper cleaning. My kids rooms were routinely missed even though those rooms were part of the payment made to the service. I had a cleaning service when I lived in another part of TX that did a great job. I remember the clean smell that greeted me when I came home from work on the day of cleaning. For some reason, there was never a clean smell after Maid to Sparkle cleaned my house. The last straw was when I had been accused of not paying for the service and a late charge was added to my account. The first time it happened, I sent all the documentation to the service to prove payment had been made and the check cleared my bank account. The second time this happened within less than a 6 month period of time, I decided to terminate the cleaning service. My job requires that I extend great customer service and I expect the same of my cleaning service.

As you know, Maid To Sparkle offers a 24 hour customer satisfaction guarantee on every cleaning. If we were aware of your dissatisfaction at any point, we would have sent someone back to touch-up all areas in which you had concerns. We understand that not every employee will be the right fit for you and sometimes they make mistakes. Some clients prefer stronger cleaning smells while others prefer none. Some clients want us to enter their closets to vacuum while others don't want us opening a closet door at all. Feedback regarding the service and your preferences helps us get to know you and your preferences. While we strive for perfection every day, we understand that mistakes will be made and that's why we offer each client the 24 hour guarantee. I certainly understand your concerns with staff changes. The house cleaning industry has a high turn over rate and this turn over rate isn't a reflection of pay or management styles but is high through out the country in every cleaning service in operation. On weekly and bi-weekly services Maid To Sparkle strives to send the same maid to each cleaning as long as the same employee is still here and as long as the client is happy with their job performance. The only times we change staff on a property is if the employee is no longer employed with MTS, is sick or on vacation, or is not performing to your satisfaction. So, as long as that person is here the day of your service and no complaints from you are received, you'll get the same staff. We do apologize for the staff changes at your home. I regret that turn over is what it is in our business and we continually seek ways to increase staff retention. I also reviewed your file regarding the payment you referenced. In reviewing your account, I believe you are referencing the invoice from 2/27/13 and we did receive the payment for this service on 06/18/13. I would prefer to keep your payment history and the collection actions on your account private so I have not included the detailed notes in this response. They only sent one employee to perform a full house detailed clean. There were still cobwebs in the corners, mirrors in both bathrooms had large streaks, and cabinet faces were not wiped down. We had plan to utilize the service every two weeks until I arrived home and discovered what level of service we HADN'T received.
Description of Work: House cleaning service. For the first clean we chose the upgraded deep clean which is supposed to pass muster as a move out clean.

The cleaning was decent at best (maybe a 5-6 out of 10). Based solely on the cleaning services performed, I likely would not recommend this company to anyone else for the price. Apparently the employee that cleaned my home was let go soon after cleaning my home. Regardless of the services performed, the company did not send me a customer satisfaction survey via email after completing services (as stated on their website and welcome email). After the 24 hour customer satisfaction guarantee had expired, I called to express my dissatisfaction with the service and was scolded for being outside the 24 hour window even though I had not received the customer survey. At first, the management team at the company was responsive and understood my dissatisfaction with the service given that the maid was let go shortly after my date of service and that I had not received a survey. However, the management team informed me that their hands were tied and they could not offer me additional services or provide any discount to the services already rendered. When I asked to speak to the owner of the business, the management team expressed their doubts that she would take my call. They were correct, the owner refused to speak with me. After a 3-month long process with disputing the transaction through my credit card, the credit card company credited my account back for 100% of Maid To Sparkle's charges. As an aside, my representative at the credit card company told me this was the first time she had seen a 100% credit to a customer who had disputed a charge for paid services. Unsurprisingly, the management team / owner was uncooperative with the credit card company as it conducted its investigation. In dispute resolution, my proof of improper service was the customer satisfaction survey email, which I provided my credit card company. This email was sent to me 32 days after my service date. My credit card company concluded that, although I did not call to complain within the 24 hour satisfaction guaranteed window, I should not be held responsible to do so because the company did not provide the email survey until 32 days later. Beware, I would never recommend Maid to Sparkle or do business with again. The owner and management team seem to have internal spats and there is no consistent leadership at the company. The owner has no sense of entrepreneurship and does not understand how to run a small business. If you use this company, I hope their first attempt at service is satisfactory because you will get no help from the management team / owner after service is complete, despite their representation of customer satisfaction.

Maid To Sparkle offers a 24 hour Customer Satisfaction Guarantee, as do most reputable cleaning services. [removed member name] expressed no disappointment with his Feb. 20th service at all. We received no phone calls, voice mails, or e-mails into our office regarding any concerns. Our telephone number is posted clearly on our web site where our survey is also located. In addition, surveys are provided on our “Welcome” e-mail, on our invoices, on the cover letter of our invoices, and in multiple other areas. A completed survey is not required to receive a re-clean if something was missed… our customer service agents can assist with this as well over the phone. During the initial set-up of his service in February, [removed member name] requested continuing monthly services. MTS contacts it's customers to schedule these services every 30 days. Upon our phone call to him 30 days later, he expressed disappointment with the service a month prior and requested a total refund. We apologized for any items that he was not pleased with and explained that we offer a 24 Hour Guarantee, which he was made aware of prior to his service during the initial phone call to schedule, and were unable to offer a refund after 30 days. To this he responded he would simply dispute the charges with his credit card company and hung up the phone. Cleaning services must verify missed areas and this is why there is a 24 hour time period for complaints. It goes without saying that homes get dirty again within just a few days and its therefore not possible to verify a lack of job performance 30 days after the service was performed. Certainly, if [removed member name] had notified us within 24 hours (or at least within an acceptable time frame), Maid To Sparkle would have appreciated the opportunity to correct any mistakes. We recognize that our business is based on our client’s satisfaction and want to correct any errors made by our staff! However, providing a re-clean a month later is simply re-cleaning an entire house that has become dirty again. We would have been happy to work with him in some manner had we known about any concerns prior to our phone call to [removed member name] a month later. I’m unable to reply to [removed member name] comments about a total refund to his credit card as we have received no notifications of this and have been and continue to be in cooperation with merchant services. All documents and evidence requested has been provided within a couple of hours. All credit card companies return 100% of the charge until the dispute has been resolved. We regret that we were not notified sooner of any concerns [removed member name] had as we would have very much appreciated the opportunity to resolve them immediately.

I had initially been scheduled for a Tuesday afternoon for move-in clean between 12-2. Scheduling and set-up was easy and friendly. All costs were discussed up front and when the cleaning finally happened, there were no hidden or other fees. My husband and I had not moved into the house yet and so we sat in an empty house for 2 hours (12-2) and no one came. I called the company and was told that the particular maid had called in and would not be coming to work that day. I was upset and frustrated that no one had called me to say that we needed to reschedule during that time. When I called them they worked very hard to find a replacement for that same week as we had movers coming with our stuff on Friday so it had to be done asap. Although it took a bit of time, they were able to schedule us for Thursday that week. The maid came during her scheduled time and did a good job with the move-in service. There were a few "cobwebs" and stray items but overall was very happy. Initial disappointment, missteps and miscommunication that were rectified and handled quickly. We will continue to use this company and have bi-weekly cleanings scheduled from this point on.

My house was very clean. I could not smell the cleaning products but I could see and feel the difference.
Description of Work: The cleaner came in and I showed her around. She then decided where she would start after asking me did I prefer for her to start in a certain location. I had no preference. She went out to her vehicle and brought in all her supplies. Everything from my ceiling fans to my base boards were cleaned.

They will always call to set up a time and are flexible with that. The person is usually on time and they do a good job. The cost is around $90 a visit. You can set up a weekly or monthly appointment with them.

I hired this service for my husband's benefit as he has asthma and I am often too busy to keep the house perfectly clean. They were available to schedule it the day before Valentine's Day which was my hope as a surprise for my husband. The office staff was friendly and responsive. Marcell came to my home to clean and arrived within the half-hour time window we scheduled for arrival. After greeting Marcell and doing a quick tour of the home to give a few instructions, I had to leave for work. I felt comfortable leaving Marcell in my home. She was very friendly and began cleaning the hall bathroom before I had even picked up my things and left the house. I was impressed with her efficiency. When I got home from work the house smelled clean, and better yet, it WAS clean. There were a few places of dusting missed that I would not have noticed except I was looking for it. I know the house was really dirty and a big job, and I know I could not have done better myself in the same amount of time. I would mention that they do send just one maid, so that helps keep the cost down probably. Also, they dust, but don't scrub, the baseboards, to protect the paint from wearing off. So if your baseboards are really nasty, don't expect that they will be immaculate after the detailed clean. I would definitely consider hiring this company again to clean my home.
Description of Work: I selected the initial detailed housecleaning. This included, dusting, vacuuming, washing windows, cleaning tile floors, cleaning bathrooms, etc for one bedroom, two bathrooms, living room, dining room and kitchen. They have a long list of tasks on their website. Most everything was done great.

Description of Work: Was a new customer and called company on Thursday to set up deep cleaning on Friday. Showed up as scheduled. Was charged $185 for one maid to do a "deep cleaning" and she spent only 3 hrs cleaning a 2500 sq ft home. Not all base boards were cleaned, cobwebs in a few windows, dishes were not washed, floors were mopped, but did not "sparkle", along with a few other areas that needed more than just a simple wipe down. There was NO follow up from company after cleaning. Disappointed.

Member, Upon reading your review, I visited your account to review the information there as well. Unfortunately, I found no notes that you contacted us regarding your disappointment. I sincerely regret that as we do offer a 24 Hour Customer Satisfaction Guarantee! We would have been happy to return to clean the items you mentioned, right away! The account shows that we cleaned your home on 12/16/2011 and sent a survey to you via e-mail the same day (the morning of 12/16/2011). To be sure we hadn't missed you, I checked the sent e-mails and found that it was sent that day. Maid To Sparkle sends a survey via e-mail to every new customer on the same day of a new service (and quarterly to current customers). A link to our survey can also be found in the cover letter of your e-mailed invoice. We want to know how our maid did and correct any issues that may occur immediately. Unfortunately we never received an error message that the email did not go through. We sent another e-mail on 12/29/2011 and that one went through okay as well. It could be that these e-mails found their way to your spam folder instead. Some items that you mentioned, such as cleaning the dishes, are not part of our service. Our maids will load a dishwasher but we don't, and many maid services don't, clean dishes by hand. In seeking a cleaning service in the future, I would ask them about this upon your initial phone call to be sure that they are able to meet your expectations with dishes. A check list of our services can be found on our web site under the "House Cleaning Services" tab. Please know that most maid services offer a guarantee and all you need do is make them aware of your concerns. Most companies would be happy to take care of any issues and others, such as Maid To Sparkle, want to know about any concerns so that we can continue to learn and improve through the help of this feedback.

I used "Maid to Sparkle" for roughly 3 months... until the maid from their services STOLE from me. I had to call the cops and I'm still trying to collect on my jewelry that was taken from me. They claim that they're insured and bonded and their employee's are put through a background check, but their insurance isn't paying me back for my items and she's still out there with a warrant for her arrest. They never refunded me for their services and I'm still missing my earrings. I was devastated by this, and still don't trust anyone that comes into my home because of it. I DO NOT recommend anyone use this company.

Every business, at some point in time, experiences a dishonest employee and Maid To Sparkle was unfortunate enough to have experienced theft once in 8 years of business. I'm happy to say that we have refined our hiring and background checking process even more after this occurrence and we feel confident that we're taking all possible steps to avoid a similar situation. Some of the policies Maid To Sparkle utilizes during the hiring process: 1. Contacting all former employers for references. No individuals are hired if negative feedback is given, we are told an employee is not eligible for re-hire, or important information on the application does not match the information given by past employers. 2. Contact any personal references in relation to past cleaning experience. 3. Perform a thorough background check. Maid To Sparkle does NOT hire any individuals with any theft convictions. This includes a "theft by check" which is essentially writing a check they could not pay or felony convictions. 4. All newly hired employees must go through a training process where they are carefully instructed and monitored by a more seasoned staff member before being assigned to customer's homes alone. If any suspension arises or the trainee isn't able to complete the work to our standards, we immediately let them go. I certainly understand the member's frustration over how long the process takes with insurance companies and law enforcement but all issues regarding this matter have since been resolved. We can't say what occurred with the maid as she was immediately terminated but I'm sure Ms. Gray will be contacted by authorities when further developments occur.
