***DO NOT HIRE*** If I could rate any lower than this I would have. VERY unprofessional. The job was completed prior to us moving in. Everything looked great until about 3-4 months in the shop floors started to bubble and black spots started appearing. They had to completely sand down and re-do that section. When they did this, they did not cover any of our furniture or tape anything off. Our expensive furniture and mounts were COVERED in sand and dust. There were moisture bubbles throughout the entire floor still and black patches are still there. Not to mention the foot print that is in the entry door engraved into the floor. Our garage floor epoxy was chipping (not even a year later. We’ve called to talk to brad (owner) several times during this entire process. He never came out to deal with the issue. When more spots started coming up, i decided to call brad myself because my husband was over dealing with him and getting nowhere. I called him and let him know it was getting worse. He said he would send a guy out. Never came. Weeks went by. Still nothing. I reached out again but called him this time and asked when he was coming out. HE HUNG UP ON ME! So, I called our builder, Infuriated that he would be so unprofessional when we paid him so much money for this big job to look as bad as it does. Our garage floors are peeling/chipping up. It looks like the gloss coat wasn’t applied correctly. It’s very uneven and looks awful. After a week, he finally texted me to apologize making excuses as to why he did that. And sent a Sherwin Williams specialist out to determine the issue. The specialist told me and my husband that it was an application issue. I followed up with brad and I still have yet to hear from him or have anything done to fix my floors. It’s been 3 weeks. Finally this morning I texted him and said don’t worry about it - we will hire a different company and I will let everyone I know not to use you for anything.

If I could leave less than 1 star I would. I cannot say enough about the unprofessionalism of this company, specifically it's owner. We hired this company to redo our floors, while doing the floors they ruined the bottom or their custom kitchen cabinets and 2 new appliances in the process. The owner sent someone out to "patch" the cabinets which did not fix the issue but refused to help with the damage done to appliances. More than that though their floors started showing huge white spots within 3 months of installation. Over the last year their floors have began to look so bad due to these massive white water spots (that are untreatable) that they are going to have to completely redo them. The owner refuses to return calls along with all other associates within the company. They took over $11k for this job and left the job looking worse than when they started. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
Description of Work: Complete redo of all downstairs floors in my home.

Continued from previous (see above)............ The first day of their work they cleaned off the wall and prepped the wall. When I got home that night I noticed the flowerbed was not cleaned out. I called Gene and asked why and told me that they were not finished yet and it would come later, I accepted that. He was irritated that I called him. A few days later I was speaking with Brad, the owner, and he told me that cleaning out the flower bed was not part of the bid. I was shocked and we argued about it and it went nowhere because Brad is ?ALWAYS RIGHT?. In the end, they never cleaned out the flower bed and left colored texture from the wall everywhere. Part of the roots were left going up the wall at the base. I am not even sure the rock that will be put there will cover the part of the wall they refused to texture. Again, this being part of the job they finished with. Another issue is an expansion joint at the last 6 feet of the wall. They were supposed to put some kind of caulking or other material in there to make it look better and blend in with the wall. I talked to all of them about this even their workers. The day before this posting, just after the wall was finished (in their minds), I spoke with Gene about it and he was telling me about how he was checking around for some kind of a machine that it was going to take to do this. After I talked with another contractor about what needed to happen he said what Gene was telling me was total nonsense. There is no machine needed to fix the expansion joint and he proceeded to tell me how it should be fixed. Just another futile conversation with Gene that was a waste of time with him trying to insult me and take advantage. The other thing that really was unbelievable was the prepping of the wall. When the wall was poured (approx.: 12 inches in depth and 70 feet long and 10 feet high) there were some sort of little holes (not all the way through) about a half inch in depth that I guess was part of the forms. When I came home that Monday night after the first day of their work on this job I noticed all the holes had been filled in and smoothed over. I thought they had done a great job and assumed this was part of the ?prep? Brad had talked about. As the job progressed and in the end, the holes became visible just like before they started. In looking at the holes closer they had put foam tubing wadded up into a ball and stuck in the holes and then patched over it with some kind of material. The material they used must have been as thin as paper and not strong at all because it deteriorated over the course of 2 weeks. They made no attempt at trying to fix that. They should have used concrete to patch those holes yet they didn?t and now along with the design on the wall I have a bunch of holes here and there with the foam tubing half-way coming out. Besides this being unsightly it will also create a long-term issue with rust streaming down the wall because of the metal inside some of the holes. The final issue I have with them was that there were a few areas on the wall that looked like they had been patched after the wall was finished and the sealer put on. They do stand out and are a different color than the rest of the wall. They had nothing to say about that either. Every conversation I had with Brad and Gene was all just a big smoke bomb in the end. I thought I was dealing with credible, up-front and honest people that had integrity and that was not the case. Every conversation I had with Brad always ended up with Brad dominating the conversation not knowing when to be quiet and he was ?ALWAYS? right. He does not know the meaning of ?shut-up?. Every conversation I had with Gene was him just placating and pacifying me. Nothing he ever said was credible. He is too busy kissing up to Brad to be credible. Brad always ran rough shod over everyone. Beware if you use this company. They do not do what they say they will do and blowing smoke is as natural as breathing for them. General descriptions are included in the contract deliberately to give them wiggle room on the scope (or not) of their work. Brad was always very quick to say ?that?s not in the contract?. It didn?t matter what or how many conversations we had about aspects of the job he always chose to do what he wanted. Because the contract was general in nature and did not included very, very specific details he gets to screw people over whenever he sees fit. It happened to me. Brad was also very good at telling me one thing and telling his workers something else. When I spoke to Gene and Brad at my house after the job was completed, I wanted to point out what had not been done; all they had were excuses and they weren?t fixing ANYTHING and they wanted the remainder of the payment in full. I called Brad later for one more shot at him doing the right thing. I had checked around for someone to clean out the flower bed and fix the expansion joint. After 15 minutes of arguing with him he agreed to adjust the final invoice payment $200.00 for the flower bed but was not going to pay for the expansion joint. I hope this is over?this project was nothing but a pain.
Description of Work: Concrete Engraving a vertical concrete wall approximately 70 feet long, 10 feet high and 12 inches deep. My dealings with Lonestar Concrete have been horrendous. I would never recommend them to anyone for anything. They have lied, deceived, and their quality of work was beyond poor. In the beginning, they appeared to be very interested and conscientious and have expertise. When it was all said and done they were not conscientious but sloppy and things were done “halfway”. To say that mediocre was there standard for their work is an understatement. I definitely felt like I was sucked in to believing I was dealing with quality people when in actuality they were at the bottom of the barrel. The owner, Brad, loves to hear himself talk and thinks very highly of himself and has no desire to listen at all. He wants to do ALL the talking ALL the time. The project became HIS. He acted like this retaining wall was HIS and HIS ideas were all that mattered. The conversations I had with his foreman, Gene, became a matter of memory loss for Gene. I would talk with Gene about things and talk with Brad about things and both of them had selective memory and later, it was clear neither one of them were talking to each other. When it was all said and done their workers left trash everywhere, there was no clean-up, two of the aspects of the job that had been discussed were not addressed and not finished. When I approached them about these two parts of the job that were not done they said it was not part of the contract. It was a cop-out and a “gotcha”. I’ve been disappointed in contractors before and there always seems to be some little detail that is left out so I have learned by doing to be very methodical, write things down, discuss and communicate thoroughly. So, for as much as I tried to be thorough and complete it was still a project where “half-assed” was the standard for the contractor I chose. Brad had told me the job would take 5 days then he told me he should be done in 4 days. Well, that didn’t happen. Weather was a factor for only one day and the job took them over 2 weeks. Every time I called to follow up on something they acted like it was complete aggravation to talk to me. They did not keep me in the loop and basically had the attitude of “standby, we’ll be done when we are done and never mind what I told you in the beginning”. It was clear that he was juggling jobs and his workers. There were two days they didn’t even show up (on my days off). On the surface the job looks great but there are structural issues that will continue to be a problem that they did not address. These problems were minor and required very little attention. But, going unaddressed will deteriorate the work that was done so now I will have to hire someone else to come and clean up their mess. The job was engraving a vertical wall that was approximately 70 feet long and 10 feet high. The original design plan changed because the stencil form was so large. I was fine with the design change but it was still a little fluid and a work in progress so decisions had to be made along the way about the final design. Brad always tried to make the wall “HIS”. When I told him I wanted part of the design turned on the diagonal he dismissed me and had his worker do what “HE” wanted. Well, after the fact, it can’t be fixed. It’s not like paint it’s engraving. When the design had to be changed I was at work. I tried to be there on the days they worked but it was so sporadic when they were going to show up it became impossible. I have 3 days off during the week but it was clear they wanted to work without me being there. Brad calls me at work and tells me about the change and tells me about his idea. I was okay with part of it but this project was so big and such a “one-time shot” that I wanted to be part of the decision making on the front side and not on the back side when there would be no fixing any mistakes. I made arrangements to come home for a few minutes and we spoke about the design. We agreed on part of and the rest remained fluid as a work in progress. When it was all said and done, I was very pleased with the final design but it was h*** getting there. In the end Brad told me they had done a lot more work than what was initially bid and I told him that was not the case. The way I figured, the design I got was a little more than half of what I would have gotten on the other design but here again it was Brad being Brad trying to make himself feel like the big-man and that he was doing me a favor. Originally, the wall had a lot of greenery/shrubbery on it that had grown up (intentionally) from the flower bed below. There is a French drain underneath that flowerbed. Over the years the roots began to be a problem for the French drain so that is when I decided to change the wall. I investigated different options for 3 months and probably talked to about 25 different people. When I met with Gene then Brad I decided I really liked the engraving idea. Anyway, back to the greenery. Anytime, I spoke to them about cleaning off that wall it always included “ALL” the shrubbery including the flower bed. The bed was going to have to be cleaned out to check out the French drain. They were supposed to clean out all the greenery (even from a common sense perspective how could someone think the flowerbed was not included). Continued below...................

With Lonestar Stained Concrete everything went very quickly. It took 1 day for the removal of the carpet and grinding. The next day they were overlaying and stamping my floor. A couple of days later the floor was sealed and they were done. This completely changed the whole look of my living room. No more carpet for me!!!
Description of Work: Lonestar Stained Concrete put stamped concrete put in my living room. They removed the carpet, did some grinding on the concrete and applied an overlay product and stamped it with a beautiful wood grain stamp. The floor looks awesome. I looks just like old hardwood planks, but its concrete!!! Very easy to keep clean. Just a damp mop and/or dust mop. Very durable, and hold up to kids and large dogs!! Doesn't scratch or fade. I can't wait for the rest of my house to be done inside and outside.

Lonestar was recommended to us by our landscaping company. Lonestar assigned us a service representative to work with us (and our landscaper) and the project started out well. We had discussed with the rep that since our children were bigger, we were going to retire the baby fence we had put around the pool. We were adding an outdoor kitchen and the custom fence would no longer work in the space anyway. Unfortunately, the workmen didn't receive that message and they placed 26 holes in the concrete for the fence. Before we were able to step onto the pool deck to inspect the work, while the concrete was still wet, Lonestar insisted that we pay the remainder of their fee. From the window, everything looked good, so we paid them. Two days later we realized what had happend, so we called to tell our rep at Lonestar. He was very nice about it and apologized. He said that they made special plastic plugs that we could place into the holes, and that it would be "almost" invisible. We told him that we would be willing to give it a try and to go ahead and order them. After three weeks of not hearing anything I called Lonestar, asked for our rep, and was told that he was no longer with the company. I asked about our plugs, no one knew anything about them; nor, had anyone heard about any such things existing. So, I retold the story and was told that someone would get back to me to fix the deck. Twenty-six phone calls, 13 months, and several different Lonestar representatives later, they begrudgingly sent out a crew and poured concrete (half full) into 25 of the 26 holes. The following week they were supposed to come out and fill the remainder of the holes with colored concrete - and, fill the one hole that was overlooked. It is now seven months later and I still have half filled holes around my pool deck. Futhermore, I was told that no one there would be able to help me any longer. I had to deal directly with Mr. Walker, the owner. Funny thing, I have left several messages for Mr. Walker, and he has never returned any of my phone calls! I have wasted countless hours going back and forth with this company to fix this minor issue for which they are responsible. I have begged and pleaded with them for a year and a half and gotten nowhere. So, now I am left with having to hire another company and pay to have my deck repaired. Lonestar is the most unprofessional and unethical company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. There are lots of companies that pour concrete, do yourself a favor, find one that will stand behind their work! Note: Just for grins, prior to our outdoor kitchen being installed, we tried putting up our custom baby fence. The holes were not drilled in the right places leaving the $1200 fence completely useless had we wanted to use it!
Description of Work: Lonestar was hired to replace our existing pool deck with stamped concrete, and pour concrete on a newly created deck behind the pool.

My colored and stamped concrete driveway had not been power-washed or resealed since it was originally installed 10 years ago. James, the customer service rep, showed up when he said he would and I had an estimate the next day. The cost was higher than I thought it would be but I spoke to someone who had had this done and he said the cost per foot was really very reasonable. The crew showed up on the day and time arranged and stayed until the job was finished. They were professional and cleaned up the site when they were finished. James called to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction and showed up the next day to check the job. The driveway looks like new. I would highly recommend this company.

Project was scheduled a couple of times but was delayed due to their work load and weather. Once the project was started an unexpected rainstorm came up and affected the stamping. They repaired it as best they could and I was satisfied with the result.
Description of Work: Formed and poured concrete for a new patio, stamped the concrete with a pattern, stained and sealed the concrete. Overlayed existing concrete to match the new portion.
