Lon Smith Roofing

I have been a homeowner in Fort Worth since 1999 . This is the 2nd roof Lon Smith has done for me due to damage from hail . I am in the insurance industry, I know the importance of having your roof work done by a company that has been in business as long as Lon Smith. The last thing you want is a storm chaser who popped up overnight due to a recent hailstorm. The work and professionalism of Lon Smith roofing is A+.

Lon Smith did not meet any of our requests. They insisted on roofing during July 4th and the quality was terrible. Remnant looking shingles that sand constantly and we have a pool close to the house. Lon Smith did not remove the old roof paper and this particular roof was over 13 years old. They put the Lon Smith paper, in a sloppy fashion, over the top of the old and never looked at the deck despite the fact that we have water damage on the ceiling in two areas of our home, and we repeatedly asked the inspector to do so. The salesman told us Lon Smith would help us explain to insurance they should pay for the ceiling damage inside our house, but that did not happen. We just had the interior of the house completely redone in 2016, so it is not an old dilapidated and unkept house like most of them are in Grand Prairie. We respect the neighborhood and our home. No attempt was made to follow the pattern instructions on the shingle wrapper by the installation crew, the ridges are not straight, and the roof is an embarrassment to the neighborhood. The crews were not trained workers, but mostly day job seekers who did not understand that quality is important for roof installations, not one line on the roof is straight. The shingles were supposed to be 50 year and the inspector told us 40 year, so in our opinion, Lon Smith installed a surplus shingle they needed to move off of their lot. We are not convinced of its quality. This is truly, the ugliest shingle we have ever seen and we made a point to tell Lon Smith, prior to selecting them for the job, that we wanted a nice looking roof because our house is on a corner lot. Insurance included on the estimate replacement for the Fireplace Chimney Chase Cover and Flue Cap, that was not done. The metal on the roof and boots were supposed to be replaced, but we have our doubts about it as well. After our complaints, Lon Smith did send out a man and his teenage son for a day to make some adjustments and repairs to the roof. Now, we still have to pay $1,700 to insurance on top of the checks received for this lousy ugly roof. All roofing companies use day labor for their work, but we expected a high quality of work and at least two or three regular employees who receive their paycheck from Lon Smith to be part of the installation crew. We do not recommend Lon Smith Roofing in Forth Worth.

The Lon Smith team was great. The inspected the roof within one day of the damage and provided a through explanation of work to be completed. The work was completed timely and the roof looks great. Lon Smith will be who I recommend all my family and friend for their roofing needs.

I would 100% recommend Lon Smith Roofing. They have been around for more than 40 years, and they are not going anywhere like so many of these fly-by-night companies that pop up when storms happen. Every step of the way, from the person who came out to do the initial inspection and estimate, to the office, to the workers, I have absolutely nothing bad to say. Everyone was so polite and made sure I knew exactly what was happening at every step. When there were issues with my insurance company, the office folks were so helpful in getting those issues resolved. When the job was done, they were careful to clean-up supplies from the job. Everything was done in a timely manner and I would not hesitate to use them again!

After receiving several estimates for new roof, we decided to select Lon Smith to replace composition roof on house and shed. Job was scheduled to begin on July 5th. With number of roofs damaged in area, it was a nice surprise the work could be scheduled so quickly. The entire roof was replaced in one day with only some work on window overhang the next day. With this being the 2nd full roof replacement for our home we've lived in for over 30 years, this was by far the best overall experience for workmanship, professionalism, and cost. Would highly recommend Lon Smith Roofing to anyone.

Everyone that we worked with was polite, respectful, professional, and competent. it was as good of an experience as a roof replacement could be. They were willing to do an initial inspection of the roof and have someone available to meet with the insurance adjustor when he did his inspection. They worked directly with our insurance company. The inspectors were great about keeping me up to date on what was going on. They cleaned up all of their mess and finished the job in a timely manner. If we need another roof in the future, they will be our first call.

This is the only company I have ever written a review on, as most people do not live up to my expectations. This is the 2nd time I have used Lon Smith Roofing, the first one was about nine years ago for another hail damaged roof. The office staff, inspector, supervisor, and work crew could not have been more knowledgeable, customer service oriented, friendly helpful, professional, and courteous. They were and are a great company to work with, especially Charles Hill (estimator). I highly recommend using their services, as I will do so myself if the situation arises (hopefully not to soon though).

We just had our roof replaced in June, 2018 by Lon Smith and we are very pleased with the roof, the quality and the workmanship. Special recognition to Raphael Garcia who came in after the roof was installed to install additional roof vents. He was meticulous. He also painted two air vents that had not been painted and he even touched up a couple of areas on the roof where I had dripped paint.

Lon Smith Roofing was great to work with when replacing our roof and gutters. From our estimator, to the crew chief and crew, we could not be happier with the experience. They even worked with my insurance company to help recover the depreciation. We will definitely use Lon Smith in the future.

Lon Smith was professional from start to finish. The process was easy and they worked with my insurance company to handle all of the details seamlessly. The final product looks great. The treated my home with respect and finished the job on time. There are a lot of fly by night contractors out there for roofs, but go with Lon Smith if you want to be sure they'll be around for the long term.

Started and finished in 1 day. Work was quality. Salesman offered tips on how to reduce insurance rates using new shingles, which was accurate. Minor cosmetic damage to A/C unit but they followed up and fixed it. Performed on-site inspection and followed-up with satisfaction survey in person. Office helped reclaim some of our recoverable depreciation from insurance co. Would recommend using them.

Excellent job. Quality material was pre-delivered in timely manner. Workmen were prompt, courteous and performed a professional job. Cleanup was immaculate. End result was highly satisfactory, a new roof in under a day.

Lon Smith completed our roof replacement after hail damage, including gutters. They were great to work with and did incredible work in a very timely manor! Would certainly recommend and use again, though, hoping we don't need a new roof any time soon!

This was my first experience filing a claim for roof and gutter damage. Everyone I worked with made it so easy! Clayton Pippin answered all my questions prior to the work. David Grassmann made sure everything was done properly. I needed a small adjustment on the gutter after a rain storm and the gutter crew was there the same day to fix the issue. Lon Smith Roofing did a great job. They were very prompt and explained the entire process to make sure we knew what to expect. The installed the roof and came by to follow-up to make sure we were satisfied. They also went above and beyond in helping us to understand and work with the insurance aspect of the new roof.

Everything went fine, except the roofing crew. I assume, since I know nothing about roofs, that it was roofed properly. When it comes to clean-up, they were the worst EVER! I am still finding nails they didn't pick up, I picked up 2 more today!! I have pictures of over 51 nails, old & new shingle pieces, felt, etc. They were rude enough they even left their Mexican bottle caps(5) from lunch, with the sharp edges facing UP, a disaster for lawnmower or tires, had I not picked them up!! These were turned over to inspector, but no apology from Lon Smith Roofing. The inspector, Miguel, and Leah,from the office apologized for them, but it wasn't their fault. I'd like to know who hired this crew, and WHY! This can't be a one-time job for them. If you want their crew number, I can supply it. I advise you not to use that crew!!!

The estimator, Alan Kinnaird, was very professional and helpful, as was the roof inspector, Marcial Gonzalez. Alan coordinated everything, except for the Leafguard gutters. The work was done on time and very efficiently.

We hired lon smith to replace our roof after the 2008 hail storm and they did a great job. Naturally after last year's hail storm we turned to them to replace the roof again. They did not disappoint the second time around. The experience has been very good, starting with sales, back office people and installers. Everyone is professional at what they do. Would recommend.

Thanks to Lon Smith Roofing who replaced my Skylight. They installed my roof 9 1/2 years ago and when I called to ask a question regarding response from my insurance about a leak Lon Smith was very nice and helpful. They sent an inspector out. They did not have to do this since my roof was not under warranty. The inspector was very nice and did not try to sell me a new roof. I did have to pay for the repairs but felt that they were fair and upfront about everything. I was also impressed that they were still in the same location and the inspector that I worked with 9 1/2 yrs ago was still there. Thank you Lon Smith Roofing for being honest and trustworthy. Will call when I will need a new roof.

Lon Smith Roofing recently completed their second re-roofing job for me. In addition to the roof itself, their representative identified a chimney problem and helped arrange for a qualified contractor to make the chimney repairs. All of the roofing work was completed as planned and scheduled. I was impressed that their inspector visited the site several times to check on the re-roofing work as it was being done, as well as after the job was completed. Lon Smith Roofing also arranged for re-aiming my satellite dish and electrical connection of new power vents as part of the job.

Lon Smith Roofing put a new roof on our house last month. They were all on time, professional, and completed the work when they said they would. After the new roof was put on, they came and did a post installation inspection to make sure with me that everything was done correct. Great Job Lon Smith!
