We went with this company because they could do everything we needed without us using multiple companies. They were really nice, and seemed very professional. They have a really big problem with communication between each other unfortunately. One brother comes out, and promises all kinds of things without checking with the other. After we signed and paid the material money the work began. The brother who actually does most of the work then tells you that the different details you talked about and wanted are a no go. Such as for the air conditioning unit I asked that be hidden in some kind of way so it's not such an eye sore. We were told hey cool we can make you a table out of it while leaving holes for it to breath of course. It gets built, and I'm like wait a minute. Then I get told no we can't do that. It wouldn't be able to work right. Which is completely fine if I had been told maybe. They still tried to make a table around the top so we had some kind of space. It looks horrible. The wood is all warped and curling upward, so not a table. The deck itself has a good foundation, but the rest is just crappy. No cuts were made correctly, so there is a lot of space where the boards should line up. They just said that's okay, and filled it in with wood filler. Which started chipping out 2 days later. The stairs and edges of the deck they didn't measure, cut, and then place the boards. They place all the boards, and then took the saw and cut them all at once. So, nothing is straight and even. The whole thing started falling apart and looked like the deck had been here for years just 6 months after it was put in. When it came to the details, every one of the cost a lot of money. I thought cutting straight, cutting boards so the fit perfectly, sanding, and staining were all a part of just doing the job right. Apparently it is not. I didn't have any money left over to pay for all these extra "details". When they were putting in the railings there were these beautiful knots in the boards that I really liked, and told them. So they left them. The problem is they didn't do anything to secure them in place or tell me it was a bad idea to keep them. So now instead of pretty knots I now have holes with screws sticking out where they used to be. The stain job that they did we had them do 1 coat because it was $200 for every coat. We could only afford one coat because like I said before we used the whole budget already. The stain job was not good. It was uneven, and large spots were left unpainted. We had to have them come back, and paint those spots. Our house also now has stain on it as well. It was not a careful or clean job. We tried to get them to come fix stuff that is falling apart. Supposedly it's under warranty, but all they did was send one of their guys out to take a couple of pictures, and have done nothing but ignore us. Honestly we are most likely going to tear the deck up, keep it's bones, and rebuild it ourselves. I feel really bad leaving this kind of review for people that are so nice which is why it took me so long to do a review. In the end though just because your nice doesn't mean your good at your job. For the deck portion of the review I would give it an F or a 0. On the other hand, which is another reason for my lack of desire to do a review, the rest of the work with the sprinklers and the sod we're amazing. I absolutely love the job that was done there. I don't have to stand out in the heat to water anymore. The trees and grass are growing beautifully. The sod filled in very quickly, and the HOA is not on my case anymore for an ugly yard. I love it! For landscaping and sprinkler system work I would give them an A or a 10.
Description of Work: Sprinkler system out in front and back, large deck, rock removal, and sod.
