Damaged floorboards were replaced, entire floor was sanded three times with three coats of finish applied between sandings. The crew did a fantastic job of cleanup. Maria responded to questions quickly and Juan always called with an ETA each day. Crew always showed up on time. They were quick, efficient and professional.

The best flooring experience I have ever had.

Although the floors looked very rough when the carpet was taken up, the first (rough) sanding revealed very nice looking wood. After some consultation about the stain color, 3 colors were chosen for test stain and finish. The guys suggested the lightest of the 3 stain colors picked as they said this would be the lightest we could go (we wanted a light color stain) and still hide a few stains that were in the wood that didn't come out with sanding. They were correct - the stain color chosen looks great and the existing stains in the wood can't be seen as they blend in well with the stain color. 3 coats of finish were then put on the floor. The end result is simply fantastic. The floor has a smooth appearance in both texture and color. The wood almost looks like "artificial" or "fake" wood it looks so good. The finish is a satin finish. There were a few areas where some patching or repairs were needed. Hernandez did this work and had the right materials for the job. The workmanship was very good. For those considering this kind of work, be advised that once any carpet is removed and if any repairs are done that the floor needs to air out and dry for several weeks. This allows all the wood to come to the same humidity level which allows the stain and finish to take evenly. Also, the moisture content of the wood will be measured and if it is too high, it will need to sit and dry further. In our case, that was several weeks. This is to prevent warping or "cupping" of the individual boards. So it takes 1 session to do the repairs and rough sanding, one session to do an intermediate and final sanding and stain, and 3 more sessions to do the finish. Any final wood trim such as transitions between carpeting or tile is then added. These are pre-stained and finished to match. Then the floor has to dry for at least 24 hr before any foot traffic and another 24 hours before any furniture can be moved in. The Hernandez people were always there when they said they would be, and always did what they said they would do. We are beyond impressed with the final results. Although it was a lot of work for us to move furniture out and basically be out of the house for a week or more (we staying in our travel trailer while our 4 dogs stayed in the kitchen as our path to the bedrooms and bathrooms were off limits due to the refinishing), the end result was well worth the trouble! As an additional note, for those that have nice wood flooring that was covered up at some point with carpet, the cost to do this work was not any more than having a good quality carpet and pad installed. In our case, our carpet was shot and needed to be replaced anyway so we decided to put the floors back to the original condition they were when the house was built in 1922.

We purchased the wood (about 1500 square feet) from the company as well as the labor because it was of high quality and reasonably priced. The floor was put down with glue exactly as we wanted in all respects. All went very well. After a day of drying, some spots of residual glue was seen on the surface of the wood, which was not all that unexpected. This was reported and about twice the original number of workers returned to take care of the problem.

Everything went smoothly and they were in and out in 3.5 hours. They took removed carpet with them to dispose of. Very friendly and professional installers.

Second stain was perfect and floor looks beautiful. Am planning on having them install hardwoods in my kitchen.

We had several rooms (about 850 square feet) of original red oak hardwoods that were badly weathered and scratched in areas, plus boards that had been damaged by termites, and an area of floor that was repaired by wide pine planks that did not match the rest of the floor. Hernandez were able to come in and replace the mismatched and damaged boards, then came back at a later date and sanded everything down. Once they were sanded they put down some stain that we chose to show us what it would look like (since different woods take the stain differently). They were able to sand and stain in one day, and then over the next 3 days they came back to put down 3 coats of polyurethane (each day after the initial sanding and staining they were there for 2-3 hours). Our floors look amazing now, they did an excellent job. The repaired boards match perfectly, you would never be able to tell that they weren't original to the house like the rest. I would use them again.

These guys are magnificent! This is the fourth time they have been out for different projects. Ten years ago, they came in and repaired the hardwoods when we removed both floor furnaces in our 1948 bungalow duplex. No one could ever tell where the units had been. Two years ago, when we remodeled the duplex, and made it a single-family, they came in and customized the hardwoods so that everything matched up between the old separate units. They saved most of the original wood, and created an artful walnut border in the living room and dining room to tie it all in. They refinished all the floors in the house, and we have been thrilled ever since. When folks come into our house for the first time, they always comment on the floors. Their business, like our home inspection business, is a family business. The Hernandez brothers are personable and funny, and you'll meet at least two of them during the initial visit and on your job. Maria answers the phone with such attention and charm, you'll love talking to her. The work crews are very respectful of the house, furniture and our presence in the house. Hernandez Hardwoods set the bar pretty high for their industry. They deserve your consideration, for sure.

We scheduled an appointment. They showed up when they said they would. Completed the job when they said they would. The finished floor looks beautiful and perfectly matches an existing floor. During the entire process they conducted themselves in a professional manner. We would no hesitate recommending them or using their services again. Maria in the office was particularly helpful in accommodating our schedule.

Their final finish on the floors is full of craters and dirty particles. It was a nightmare of any home owners. They were unable to fix the problem and refused to issue a full refund.

I made price comparisons and they were out there in the middle. They said the work would take four days and at the end of the fourth day they were done. They came when they said they would and charged me what they said they would. They did a fantastic job on the floor.

They were prompt, but they should of told me some boards would be replaced.

They came out and gave me an estimate. I looked at the estimate and called them and asked if it was to tile both the bathrooms. They said that it was for one bathroom. They sent the guy back and they were supposed to send me a new bid for 2 bathrooms and a kitchen and they didn't. One has to call them a lot. Their follow up is not very good. The estimate had a lot of stuff included too. It was around $1200. My experience with the follow up was not great. I think they are really busy. The guy that comes out is very nice, but he can't do a bid. He has to go back to his office and give the information to the office manager and if one doesn't get it in a day or two then they have to call them back. The last time they were here, they never got back to me. It wasn't the guy's fault. They came when they said they were going to come. They were very professional. I had no problems with their attitude. I would not consider them for another quote in the future. I've already got a tile guy and I don't even need them anymore. The people that don't get back with me obviously don't need the business. I really give business to an individual.

All went very well, were timely and neat.

Hernandez Hardwood Flooring was supreme professionals. From the initial, shopping experience of selecting the flooring to the finished floor, everything went very smoothly. They were able to quote exact price, except materials to level floor. They were able to give an estimate that included everything, but total project installation took only two days for 4 rooms. I would defintely use them again and recommend them to anyone.

Called company for estimate and was told they would be out the following Monday. I do not know if I misunderstood but they did not show up on that Monday. A week later a man showed up from their company and I told him the work had already been done.

Sealed all light fixtures, vents, shelves, appliances from the start. I didn't have to do any dusting afterwards. Happy with my floors.

It went very well. Very professional and quick. We did have to leave the floor in situ for 10 days to acclimatized to my house. Then they returned and covered it with polyurethene.

We have used them before. They did a good job, and we were pleased with the work that they did. They show up when they are supposed to. They are in the process of re-doing our floors right now because there was water damage. They did a good job the first time, and I feel their pricing is good. Our neighbors who have used them recommended them to us. Their prices are very reasonable compared to a lot of other estimates that we have received.

The crew came and installed the unfinished floor in one day and let it set for about a week to allow it to settle. They came back and sanded, stained, etc, the floor. They did a really good job of matching the color to the flooring that we already have. They were also very nice about any unforeseen problems (our son and dog walked across the wet floor and they came back resanded and finished out those spots). The floor finish on the floor is not quite as smooth as I would like, but to be fair I haven't asked them to come back out.
