He was a very professional young man who worked quickly. He removed two old toilets and installed two water efficient toilets. They work great. He also replace a hose under my kitchen sink. I was very pleased with all the work that was done and would call them again.

The service was fine. Somebody had not booked me, and so he came out himself the next day and did it. He made an observation, that the front door needs to be leveled the next time he comes out, and he did a good job hanging my curtains.

Jason was great. On time and worked continually until he finish the tasks requested.

Despite seeing the previous bad review about lack of professionalism, I went ahead and submitted a request for a project estimate through the Handyman Matters website. After nearly a week of no response, I finally called the office number and spoke to a young woman who answered the phone. I explained to her what I wanted to do and she set an appointment for the handyman to come to my office for the estimate. I had to leave work early to make it home for this appointment. After waiting 20 minutes but still no techinician, I called the office number again and spoke to the same young woman. She had no idea what I was talking about and said I was not in the schedule. I don't know about you, but my time is important and I certainly don't tolerate people who waste it. I do not recommend this handyman company. They are either inconsiderate or extremely disorganized. Either way, it is unprofessional and not worth my time.

There was never a call to confirm or cancel the appointment they were a no call no show.

Jim and his crew were very punctual. They did an excellent job and got everything right and level the first time. They took their time but were fast and cleaned up after themselves. They estimated $1050 but came in 2.5 hrs under at $730. I was very pleased and plan to use them again in future.

My initial meeting with the owner went really well. We discussed a number of repairs needed on my garage and his carpenter send me an estimate for all the work, totaling $1,000. The worker who came did not appear to be competent - he had to call his boss to come help him. He mis-measured the size of the gutters and installed them with a gap at one end. He went to buy lumber to replace some rotted wood and didn't get enough. He tore out some of the rotted wood and at the end of the day he left it exposed. There was a problem with the dryer vent that took a lot of time to resolve but, in fairness, that was not their problem. Since Handyman Matters charges based on time and materials, the charge for that day was $900 and less than half the work was actually completed.. The carpenter promised to send me a revised estimate for the remainder of the repairs but I never heard back from him, even after sending him a reminder about it. I will never use them again. and don't recommend them.

Previous homeowner hadn't done the sunroom build properly. He repaired and completed the room properly in good time and I am very happy with the end result. Would definitely use them again.

I was very happy with their work. I would definitely use them again. They were clean and punctual. They did it when they said they would, in the amount of time they said.

Jim showed up a few minutes before the 8:30 appointment (big plus in my estimation) and looked over the list of projects we had requested. He explained their pricing policy, insurance and guarantee. Then he got to work. Dude worked quickly. He had estimated 5-6 hours to do everything; he was done in about 3. (And he only charged for the three hours of work.) All the work was done to my satisfaction. He handled everything with professionalism, care and dedication. He did a fantastic job doing clean up after he finished projects (another huge plus in my estimation) and handled everything to our satisfaction. We have had a hard time finding a handyman who would do the small jobs we generally have around the house. I'm glad we found Jim and Brett. I would recommend these people to any of my friends and family, and will definitely call them the next time I need a handyman.

It went well... very professional and fast

We had a dog door installed through a brick wall. This job required special framing and equipement, and although there was a brief delay while they went to go buy additional supplies, it was not a very long wait at all. When I first contacted them they gave a great recommendation on exactly what brand and type of dog door we should buy and how this one was best for our needs. They picked up the door from the Fed Ex office for me since I was not able to and brought it with them to the house on the day of installation. In the end the work was completed on time and was finished perfectly. I would recommend Handyman Matters and plan to hire them again.

Overall it was good. Price was a little high I thought but I had to get door fixed to sell house. One trip for estimate and then scheduling work was a little challenging but we got it done.

Jim showed up early, surveyed the situation and came up with a solution that we loved. He then executed it by doing quality woodwork and cleaned up the site and ensured we were happy with the outcome.

He did a good job on what we got done but he was supposed to call and come out to finish it and we haven't heard anything from him. He was here for 4 hours. Everything was good and we liked him but he still needs to put the trim in the back bedroom. He was quick and did good work. The pricing was good. He was knowledgeable and we would probably use him again. We need to get in touch with him to finish the work.

They never showed up for my appointment and never bothered to call. I had used them once before and did encounter a couple of issues, but the company worked with me on the final cost, so I gave them a good score at that time. Very disappointed in their lack of professionalism.

Their response was really fast, and they got someone here right away. They were very friendly, and cleaned up their mess.

Rod from the Colleyville office came exactly on time. He was very efficient and knowledgeable, which meant no wasted time. As an additional bonus he fixed my Rubber-maid step stool, which had fallen apart. I am very pleased with the service.

Matt was on time! He was courteous, professional, and actually saved me money on his original estimate.

Had scheduled with HM to have handymen paint the top 4' on four walls of our 18 foot high entryway. Also needed them to remove a cheap contractor-grade light fixture in the same area and replace with a new one. Told the scheduler that it was a 10'X10' area and they'd need to be all the way to the ceiling for this work. Scheduler was helpful and scheduled the work for the next week and agreed to give us the same pricing on the Angie's List coupon (2 hours/$140), essentially waiving the $25 service call fee. Contractors arrived at 0930 with only a 12' ladder and were dismayed to see the 18' ceiling; one of the workers, in talking to the scheduler, discovered she assumed that since he had a 12' ladder and he was 6' tall, there would be no problem with an 18' ceiling. Understandably, the worker felt this would create an unsafe situation and he needed a taller ladder. Several phone calls were traded betweeen myself, my wife, and the HM office. It was decided that they'd go and get either a tall extension ladder or scaffolding, if necessary. They left, and returned awhile later with a tall extension ladder and did the painting work. Given the delay in getting the equipment issues resolved, they were unable to get the light swapped out, and came back at the same time the next morning and workers Rod and Lance hoisted our heavy new light and had it installed within 2 hours, even including installing 12 delicate glass fixtures on the new chandelier. And they cleaned our way-high-up front windows without my wife even suggesting it! The bill initially came to $490, which to me seemed high for the amount of work done. The light took less than two hours to hang, and if the head-scratching and running around didn't happen because of the miscommunication between the schedulers and workers regarding their bringing a proper ladder, I can't imagine the amount of painting necessary would've required five hours. But, I kept my mouth shut. I was surprised when later that day the Main Office called and told us they'd send us a refund for 1 hour of labor ($70) because of time spent dealing with the ladder issue. Handyman Matters did a great job with the work and I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.
