First, let me explain that I have a home warranty service, American Home Shield. I called in an electrical service with them because the secondary electrical panel box that supplies electricity to my septic tank wasn't supplying electricity. AHS sent FIG Services to my house. Matt determined that the breaker was bad, due to the panel box having water get in, due to a bad seal. He hard-wired the electrical, so that our septic would operate, took my breaker, told my husband that he would be back the next day, or at the latest, that Friday, took our $75.00 co-pay, and left. Friday came and went. I called FIG and spoke with Jackie - asked her when they would be returning. She replied that they had had to order the breaker, that it was supposed to be in in 3 days. I asked about the panel box - which was the root cause. She said because it was a control box, they couldn't touch it. I called AHS and explained to them that it was an electrical panel box and that the seal had failed, and that was the cause of the problems we were having. They authorized a new panel box, wiring, and breakers. I called FIG about 2 weeks later - just before we were to go out of state to visit family for Thanksgiving, when I hadn't heard from them, and Jackie seemed very unorganized and confused - like she didn't even know who I was. She said that they had ordered the breaker, and normally they arrive in 3 days, but that she would check on the status. I again, asked about the panel box and wiring - and she got defensive - stating that Matt had told AHS that it was a control panel, not an electrical panel, and therefore, he couldn't touch it. I again called AHS, who assured me that they were covering the panel, wiring and breakers. (a few years ago, there was a short in the wiring, and their electrician came out and replaced all the wiring burned in this same box - and we feel this is the cause of the seal failure.) A few days later, AHS called to say they were NOT covering the repair, due to the contractor telling them that this was a septic system control box, and they do not cover septic systems. I called FIG and spoke with Jackie - who assured me that they would bring us the new breaker. It has now been over a month, I just spoke with FIG and Jackie again, and again, she seemed confused and to not know who I was - and told her I was not happy, that I was, in fact, quite mad - but I held my temper. I calmly asked about my breaker - since that was all I was going to get out of them - and asked that they MAIL the breaker to me. She said the breaker had just arrived (how convenient) and that they hadn't gotten paid because the septic wasn't covered. I told her that was Matt's fault, for lying to my warranty company about the root cause of the problem being septic, when it was clearly electrical. Told her we had paid our $75.00 co-pay - directly to them - asked how much was the breaker ($30). Told her to keep the $75.00 and the breaker - that more than compensated him for his TIME, because he surely didn't do any work! Over a month. Self initiated contact each time. No repair done at all - and jeopardized my septic system by hard-wiring electrical circuitry. And nothing but excuses, excuses, excuses...... Called another Electrician, that I trust and comes highly recommended, and he is coming out to replace everything next week. We, of course, have to pay for everything out of pocket now because of FIG.
Description of Work: Determined that breaker had failed due to panel seal leak. Took my electrical breaker, to replace Hard-wired electricity to my septic system so that it would work until he came back.
