DESIGNS IN NATURE

Description of Work: We told them we needed a shade tree for a west exposure. They suggested two different varieties and showed us both trees in different sizes. We chose the tree we wanted. They told us in detail how to take care of it, water, what their warranty covered and delivery date. They arrived on time, planted and staked it. We are very happy with the tree and the entire transaction. Will use them again when we need trees and will definitely tell others about them.

Description of Work: We bought a 30 gal.container crepe myrtle. They planted it, staked it, and provided written instructions for its care and information about their guarantee. I have called 2 or 3 times with questions about care and they have been professional and helpful.

Description of Work: I went to this nursery 10 days before they said that they could deliver and plant the tree. I chose the largest Shumard Red Oak that they had available. I was told that they would deliver and plant the tree on Monday, Apr 16. 2012. I waited all morning and had heard nothing, so I called the company at noon. I was told that the tree was on the delivery trailer and I was number 11 in the planting sequence and they were just then leaving. I wonderd how they could plant 10 trees before me that afternoon, but was assurred that they wold be able to deliver. I was told that I would be called when they were on the way to my house. I never received that call. I waited all afternoon and into the evening. Finally, at 8:30 p.m. they showed up at my house. The sun was now down and it was dark outside. I refused to let them try planting in the dark and asked to cancel the job. The next day I was contacted by the owner and we talked about the problem. I was told that circumstances beyond their control prevented them from delivering in the daylight. I observed that trying to plant 11 trees in one afternoon did not seem reasonable to me. He stated that they could do that because of their expertise. (But not that day). So I asked again to cancel the order. They did, but charged me a 10% restocking chargs. The original tree was $1730.92 including tax and they kept $173.09. So I am getting $1557.83 back from this fiasco. I Would not reccommend these people.

Description of Work: Designs in Nature is a great resource for organic landscaping. The owners and employees are very knowledgeable on methods and products, and quite willing to share that information. And their prices are lower, on average, than other organic landscaping sources that I've been to.
