D & L arrived at the appointed time and their over the phone quote was what I was charged, after some discussion as they wanted more. When it did not work right after a few days, they came back and found a more probable cause and that quote was higher yet. I asked if I could procure the parts and if they would install at a more reasonable cost. Yes, and several days later they were back to install my parts (my internet price was $125 less than their "cost" for that part). It lasted a few weeks and then was out again. They found yet another issue and I ordered yet more parts. The parts arrived, they arrived (on time) and installed. BIG BANG and much smoke later and the yet another problem showed its face. I was now in for over $500 on a nine year old ($1,200 when new) unit. I said no thanks to their offer to come again if I got the parts again. My ice maker works but will not deliver ice or water to the door dispenser. I can live with that. I cannot live with really bad diagnostics from someone who has been in the business supposedly for decades. These guys were very friendly and sympathetic but missed the root cause of the problem with my unit. I did contact the manufactures but was told my unit would not be eligible for any support from them. This was at the suggestion of my repairmen. All-in-all, a really bad experience and very time consuming on my part while somewhat profitable for them.
Description of Work: D & L arrives at the appointed time and appeared to have repaired my door ice dipenser on my side by side Jenn Aire refriderator/Freezer. However, a few days later it was not working again. They came back and determined that something else was wrong and that another few hundred dollars would be needed to fix it. I was able to talk them into my getting the parts and they would fix for a nominal fee ($125). Parts arrived, they arrived (on time) and installed. It blew out upon completion. No charge but my $110 for parts was gone. They identified more needed pats and I got those also. (My oricing was better than their "cost"). Once again, one man returned and installed my parts (now at no cost) but they went up in smoke,literally. The ice/water dispenser remains broken.

MY COOKTOP AND OVEN MODELS ARE NOT CURRENT MODELS. I WAS SURPRISED THAT D & L WAS ABLE TO FIND THE REPLACEMENT PARTS THAT WE NEEDED TO REPAIR THE STOVETOP AND OVEN WITHOUT TOO MUCH OF AN EXPENSE. I TRULY HAD EXPECTED THAT BOTH WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE TECHNICIAN DISCOVERED THE PROBLEM QUICKLY, LOCATED THE PARTS AND HAD US UP AND RUNNING IN NO TIME.
Description of Work: A BURNER ON MY ELECTRIC COOKTOP DEVELOPED A SHORT, FLASHED, AND THEN WENT OUT COMPLETELY. AT THE SAME TIME, AN ELEMENT IN MY OVEN ALSO WENT OUT.
