Countyline Glass & Mirror

The company was very prompt in scheduling the appraisal and repair dates, and the repairman arrived for both scheduled dates on time. Trying not to hover, I let the repairman begin the work by first removing the broken pane. After a short period of time, I looked in on the repairman and he indicated that he was having a difficult time removing the old pane. Instead of being able to loosen the glue that held the pane by using a heating element he brought with him, he had to break the glass into smaller pieces. I had placed a newspaper on the floor but it did not contain all of the broken glass. There was also broken glass on the edge of the window frame. The repairman then brushed the glass from the frame into the grass in the back yard. I became upset when I saw this and told him to stop since I have two small dogs and although they were not in the back yard at the time, they could evenually walk in it and might either get cuts on their paws or lick their paws after walking in the glass. When he was finished, he tried to help sweep up the glass from the kitchen floor but even though I tried, it was impossible to remove all of the glass from the grass in the back yard. After he left, I used my indoor/outdoor vac and mopped the floor again, however, there were tiny slivers of glass all over the kitchen floor that I continued to find for the next week. The lesson I learned with this repair was to ask in advance how the repair could be handled should the glass be difficult to remove from the frame. If I had known there would be so much glass everywhere, I would have offered the indoor/outdoor vac sooner and covered more of the floor plus an area outside the window. I would also ask if the company provided an indoor/outdoor vac. Although the pane was replaced correctly, I will not use this company again.

They were very down to earth people and their work was good. They were not the cheapest in town, but their workmanship was top notch.
