"I regrettably could not satisfy this customer. I brought in other Sub-Contractors to assist in making necessary changes that Mr. [Member Name Removed] requested but it was never to his satisfaction unfortunately. To me the job looked very good when we finished. The tub was installed with the plumbing to the outside to access it in installation as well as in service. I've been in business over 50 years and have worked for literally hundreds of thousands of customers and satisfied most of them but could not satisfy Mr. [Member Name Removed]. I truly hate it ended up the way it did but after spending twice as much time and thousands of dollars when Mr. [Member Name Removed] told me my Painter didn't know how to apply paint on the wall I literally gave up on trying to satisfy him. He truly was never satisfied with any part of my work although I would have him look at each phase of the alterations and at the end of the job to only have him complain and write negative reviews against my company."
"I went by and did not raise my voice at the customer above. I did not have a problem with someone else doing the job, just was not happy with the inconsistency of the customer. The reason why I checked with the city for the permit, was to make sure all code violations were in place. Based on my job bid my price was competitive in job market."
In summary I feel that if he had used the camera to begin with he could have seen that it was a cracked pipe, $450 is a ridiculous amount to remove a toilet and repair a flange. A camera should be part of the tools used to find the problem not something additional for the home owner to pay. There was a lot of wasted time (it took 6 hours to find the problem). I looked at a previous bill from another plumber 18 months ago for clearing a sewer blockage and it was under $300 and took less than two hours. These plumbers arrived at 9:00 a.m. and left after 5:00 and charged me approximately $1,500 to clear the pipes. Then an additional day and another $1,300 to actually repair the problem.
The project went totally awesome. Upon giving an estimate, Bill Blankenship projected 4 to 5 days approximately to complete the project. He explained all the details of the work he would have to do, and outlined any difficulties beforehand that he thought may arise in the process. He was very clear about how he thought the best approach to complete the project would be. We discussed all the possible options available, and the pros, and cons of each. Once I decided on how we wanted to go, he took a few minutes, and then gave us a right-on estimate. I had 3 other estimates for this project done from other local plumbing companies, and Bill Blankenship was the most thorough, offered the best price for the product promised, and by far was in my opinion the most knowledgable in what we wanted to accomplish, and how best to make that happen.
We had a bathroom remodel job done in our home 2 years ago as well. As now, I did 4 estimates for that large project also, and in the end decided to hire Bill Blankenship for the work. I did not regret that decision, nor this one to hire his company to perform the work. Mr. Blankenship is very diligent, and is very knowledgable in his field, and strives to give the best finished product when he is done. When confronted by the inevitable bumps in the road to completion, he was still able to successfully complete the work in 6 days. One of the nice things about Bill was that he always strives to make sure his client is happy, and satisfied with the entire process of the project as it progresses through each stage of the work. If we had any questions, or possible changes to the project, which we did, he was willing to listen, and advise on their merit, and/or implementation. In our instance, a couple of changes we decided on mid-project he included without any adjustment to the estimated cost. The end product was exceptional. I had been worried that having to cut a large access panel out of the interior wall of the entranceway hallway to our home would leave an obvious tale-tell sign of construction work, but when it was all done I could not tell there had ever been anything done to the wall at all. Man, was I happy with that. So, all said and done, an excellent job overall. Just an exceptional job, just as the bathroom remodel job was done in 2011. Something Bill said to me after he was done this time stuck with me, and will be the reason he will be the plumber of choice for us. He said that when he is done at the end of the day he wants us to be happy with what we have, and the work he has done, and most important, he wants the project to look like it had always been there, not something added. I was also happy that his estimate included any, and all work that had to be done, from sheetrock work to painting, to tile work, whatever is needed to complete the project is included in the estimate, and he arranges all of the work under his supervision. Thank you Bill Blankenship for a great job.
