Everything went well. Kelly was professional, explained things in detail and presented more than one option. Pricing was fair in my opinion.

They came fast and they didn't charge us for anything. Thy were very helpful. I asked about an air purification system because of allergies. He said that they sold them but to get a better filter and that should help us. I would call them back.

I thought Air Tex Air Conditioning & Heating charged me too much. I told them so and they gave me a partial reimbursement. Most companies do this now - they charge a flat rate for any parts they have to get and a flat rate of any freon they put in. So you may pay them a lot for some little thing that you could go out and buy really inexpensive. They charge $99.00 for three pounds for the year, and nobody uses that much freon in a year. You might use one pound, which actually costs about $7.00. Basically, they're charging you 1,000% mark-up on parts and freon. But they're not alone. Every one of them does that. I will be looking for someone who does not charge a flat rate for any parts.

Despite a complicated problem with the compressor, they returned and made sure the unit was completely working.

They installed my last heating/air conditioning unit approx. 12 years ago. I had an annual maintence contract with them since that time. Service was done reasonable promptly and done as promised. When I had a/c problems in Fall 2012, they recommended replacing the old unit. I asked for an estimate and they came out and provided one. I also received estimates from 2 other contractors that were both well below their price. When I consulted with a friend in the construction business, he said the estimate from one of the other companies was a much better value, particularly for a considerably better brand of unit. Air Tex also tried to up-sell me on doing foam insulation with a company they are involved with, which would have added considerable costs. When the contractor I selected installed the new unit this spring, they informed me that some of the ducting and return vents that Air Tex said they had installed 12 years ago, with moveable dampers, were not actually connected to anything at all. The new company corrected the installation and I noticed an immediate improvement in the temps in that room. It's not that they provided bad service. It just seems they cut corners and finally tried to sell me an overpriced unit and add-ons. I don't think I could recommend them at this point.

In Texas, two story homes require a separate ac unit for each floor. My downstairs ac unit quit. The condenser unit outside would not come on even though the thermostat had power and appeared to be working. I called AirTex in the morning. They said they could get to the house by noon. He arrived at 11 am. The repairman quickly diagnosed the problem, and explained to me, to my satisfaction, why the problem was not what I suspected it was. He had the parts he needed on his truck. He completed the repairs and was done in less than an hour. I was half expecting the guy to tell me I needed to replace the whole unit, which probably would have cost $3k-$4k. I appreciated that he would take the time to explain what failed, and the likely reason for the failure. His explanation made sense and was re-assuring to know I was not going to have to spend thousands of dollars.

I called Kelly at 7:58 a.m. this morning and my husband and I talked to him about what we thought was wrong. We also indicated that others could come before us as we have TWO units and only one was not working. In this 108 degree weather we were sure that there were people who more desperately needed to see him today. We gave him our address and he said he would call us when he was on his way. Not only did he call us as promised, but it is 3:00 pm and the unit is fixed and he is gone. We found him to be friendly and up front about what he was doing for us. I would definitely call him again. Thanks Kelly!

My air conditioner stopped cooling this evening and the high temp today was 109. I reached Kelly a little after 9 pm and he had my a/c cooling again by 10:15. He was professional and, most importantly, had the right parts on hand to fix our problem. I would absolutely recommend Kelly and Airtex for your a/c and heating needs.

He has been great. We have used him for years and years. He is very punctual and honest. He stands behind his work. He cleans up any of his mess. He comes when I need him. I have some elderly parents in a house about 20 miles from us. They had problems with their AC and Kelly went right up there when I called him. It was not even in his normal service area.

Kelly from Air Tex is a straight shooter who gave me the options of doing repair vs replacement which saved me hundreds of dollars. His honesty and professionalism is refreshing to see in an industry that is so full of profiteers and half-truth tellers. I would use him again without hesitation.

They are very businesslike and effective. The best I have seen so far.

I consider them to be very personable and trustworthy. No way did they try to up sell me and I found that their price is very reasonable. Airtex is an honest place of business and I think they are good with the customers.
