Rusty by Design Auction and Estate Sales

It did not go well at all. From day one the movers were late and brought no packing materials! We instead had to do the packing ourselves. They unprofessionally stacked and stuffed our items in 4 loads of a 24ftt uhaul truck and destroyed many items in the move. They were contracted to inventory all items, picture them, describe them and list them on auction. We were to receive an itemized list of sold merchandise along with a check after one week of auction end. They sold our vintage items for pennies on the dollar. 1950 Juke boxes sold for $5.00!! Solid wood mid century modern tables and drop front desk sold for $5.00 each. Many of our items were bundled together and pictured very unprofessionally. In addition, some items that were fine when they left our shop were were broken and hidden in the back of a "lot" picture. They only auctioned about 100 pieces out of 4 uhaul truck loads! They have no explanation to the whereabouts of the remaining items they took. The owner is rude and rarely answers calls. He definitely doesnt return calls or emails or text. The rep who originally contracted with us made promises after promises and did not keep her word. After months of asking, suggesting, begging, demanding they do what they agreed to do we were treated as though we were in the wrong for hiring them! They even tried to pass us off to a competitor because they were too busy to list our items. After numerous excuses and lies we are now in a dispute and will have to take our complaints to the courts due to the unwillingness to honor their contract. I would not suggest using this company.

It went excellently. I bought a lot of Christmas items which had about 8 pictures with details of each tote and box highly visible. Bidding is easy at Rusty's. Their color system during the actual auction makes it easy to track multiple watched items. A box if you're biewing, a red outline box if you're outbid and a green (or maybe blue?) box if you're winning the item. Within 10 minutes of the completiong of the auction I had an emailed invoice with all charges and a reminder of pickup dates and times. As an added bonus, most items are pretty clean. Rarely find dirt except on outdoor items. Items in the warehouse are arranged in numbrical order except for small items like jewelry. Have been bidding at Rusty's By Design for over a year. Will be bidding tonight on items at their new Garland location and this weekend at their Forney location.

I couldn't' ask for a better experience with Rusty by Desiign. The online bidding process is very simple and easy to understand. I have received my invoice as soon as the auction ended. When I arrived at the pick up locations everyone was very prompt and courteous.
