Not only is it expensive, but some companies do not use the correct parts, do not create the correct slope for drainage, destroy your irrigation or electrical wiring, do not pack the dirt back correctly, expect you to actually vacate your house for days on end, try to avoid city inspections….so many potential nightmares. While replacing the sewer pipes, we also found yet another existing slab leak that had been going on for ages. Jake took it in stride, added an additional pex re-route through our attic (this was the only hot water that had not already been re-routed out of our slab), and very kindly fixed all the ancient 1976 leaky faucets and drains I had given up on so that we could actually use the master bathroom until we have it remodeled. What I thought would be a miserable experience was actually fast, correct the first time, well finished, and just a month later you can barely even tell anything was done in the yard at all.
