1. Good Trane system selected, but job rushed to the point that third party, Metro Environmental Services Co., Inc. 857 E. Main Street, Lewisville, TX 75057, phone 972-245-1158 had to come in and finish the job correcting the many errors/omissions left by original company. 2. Sadly, after several years use of previous company for relatively minor maintenance, cannot continue to use because of errors on first BIG JOB hired to do. 3. Dealings with service/Accounts Receivable Manager very unpleasant to the point of hostile, almost threatening communications; most unfortunate that this generally competent installer allows his son to be the face of his company and that he rlushed jobs to the point that third parties have to be brought in to finish the important details that distinguish a great job from an inadequate one. 4. Finally, because of lack of detailed work and bad communication skills of the Accounts Manager, can no longer use the original installer. 5. Highly recomment METRO ENVIRONMENTAL OF LEWISVILLE, TX 75057, 972-245-1158 in completing this job. Will continue to use METRO ENV. for continued service because of professionalism and quality service.
Description of Work: Complete replacement of 12 year old HVAC system with new Trane 15-16 SEER system, both A/C and Heating. Job was done poorly with numerous steps of installment process either omitted or not done correctly, especially replacing with new coolant and allowing system to come to equilibrium; most egregious error was re-arrachment to plenum, which was done very poorly with cold a/c air leaking into attic with temperature differential between attic and house opposite of what it should have been. Poor sealing of ductal leaks both at plenum and elsewhere requiring third party intervention to correct the numerous errors and original estimate increased by over $300 (which I paid just to move on to a better qualified Trane dealer--which original HVAC dealer had assured us that he was Trane certified (not true). Particularly problematic was the service, A/R manager who sent hostile, threatening emails telling us what we were to do (forgetting who was customer and who was service provider). Installer is polite, decent man, just in too much of a hurry and with some langluage barrier prohibiting proper installation of excellent unit, which, after third party corrected mistakes/omissions now works perfectly. It is too bad that this long time installer allows his son to be the face of the company and that he, himself, works too fast to do a proper and thorough job (of which I believe he is capable) in order to move onto next job. Sadly, after using his services for basic maintenance over several years, we cannot continue our use of him because of the large job which he rushed through leaving too many omissions to reasonably accept as job well done.

John replaced the condensor and evaporator coil. My house is a two story house, so he changed the zoning system to an all style coil. The main problems were with the duct work. John did a horrible job hooking up the duct work, and did not correctly install the plentoms. I had a dozen A/C contractors come out to give me repair estimates, which all of them said the job was not done correctly. Calvin's Climate used the phrase, "this is an embarassment to our industry". One duct uses more than 20 feet of duct for a 2 foot run. Many ducts are pinched, not providing proper air supply. Now I bought my house 3 months after the work was done. The previous home owner was unaware of the issues, but the work was still under warranty. After I found out John did the work, I called him out there to take a look at the work. He said the only problem was that it needed more freon. All of the companies that came out said I have too much freon. After John left, he was to give me an estimate of what it would take to repair the problem. I have not been able to get him to do this, and he has said he is not interested in doing the work. I also called the head building inspector with the Town of Flower Mound. It is required that when changing a condensor, the installer must get a permit. John did not do this. I had the inspector come out and take a look at the work. The inspector said there were several items that were not code. He also agreed the job was done very poorly. I should really be using litigation to take care of this problem, but I don't want John touching anything in my attic. My main purpose here is to make other people aware of the amature work John performs, and make sure no one else gets burned the way I did.

I called five other companies and none of them could make it out before the next evening or even later. John answered the phone and promised to be here between 9 and 10 a.m. the next morning. He called back 15 minutes later and said he'd be here in a half hour since he finished his previous service early. He was here in 20 minutes. He didn't charge an outrageous price for an emergency service call, either. Other companies were charging a fortune for "emergency" calls. Excellent experience.
Description of Work: Our main AC unit broke in 105 degree heat. John replaced the blown capacitor, cleaned the units, answered all our questions, and gave us good tips for maintenance in the heat.
