Jose arrived at my home at the scheduled time. I had purchased two deals to change the rollers and lubricate the chains for both doors. One of the doors needed new springs, which were included in the deal I had purchased. Jose was kind enough to allow me to apply the $100 I had paid for the second deal to the amount for replacing the springs. I was very grateful that he allowed me to do this. I now have two fully operating garage doors. I would definitely recommend A1 Garage Door adn Gate Company to my friends.

Removed 4"x4"x10' off-plumb gate post that caused the gate bottom to drag on the drive and to eventually stop operating properly. The original post was installed 2'2" in the ground; it should have been at least 3'0" in the ground. The new larger 6"x6"x12' gate post was installed 3'6" in the ground. The hole for the new post was difficult to dig because of limited space, concrete in the hole left over from the original post and driveway, and the interference of an almost inflexible electrical conduit passing over the center of the hole. Afterwards, the gate operated as expected due to the professional installation by Joe Gonzalez and his helper.

Joe was very prompt and quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem with our gate. He was here the day after I called him and the repair only took 15 minutes. Many repair companies do not work on the GTO brand of gate and Joe had no problem with it. A prior company told me I'd have to buy a new $1400 opener system. I was so thankful to have found Joe on Angie's list!

It went great!!! My electric gate broke during the freezing temperatures and I called Joe and asked if he could come the next day and he was there on time and got right to work on my gate and I had needed an additional remote for a family member and had everything fixed and ready to go within 30 mins. I will definetely use Joe the next time I have any issues with my gate or garage door.

I checked Angie's List first and found Mr. Gonzalez. Due to a recent ice storm he was very busy but managed to come to our home and repair our driveway gate., which was stuck in a position that did not allow me to exit or enter our driveway (caused by the ice storm). He arrived thirty minutes before his guesstimated time. He was able to get the gate back on its track within minutes. I asked him to look at our garage door. Two weeks ago I called another garage door company (from a coupon received in the mail) to do a tune-up and install a new opener. The following day I noticed the door was not closing properly and called the company. This company did not return either of my two calls. So Mr. Gonzalez was happy to look at the door since he was already at our home. He saw the problem and was able to fix it...no extra charge! He was friendly, professional and knew what he was doing. I should have looked at Angie's List in the first place! I've learned a lesson.

My situation was that my driveway gate opener stopped working. I have a GTO 3000XL system, and have had a difficult time getting someone out here to look at them in the past. Many repair places don't like the GTOs (AKA Mighty Mule), claiming that they are nightmares to work on and cheaply made. That's all well and good, but it doesn't help me when mine is in need of repair.... Enter Joe Gonzalez and his company, A1 Garage Door and Gate Company LLC. I called him this morning and he was out here within an hour. He promptly diagnosed the problem, got the replacement board, and fixed my gate. Even though my repair was $450, the part alone was $350, so you can see that Joe is very reasonable labor-wise as well. Also, he told me if I wanted to I could get the part myself to save some money and he would gladly install it after I got it. I appreciated that he gave me that option, but I really needed to get the repair done as soon as possible, so I let him handle it. During the process he also cleaned up a lot of the wiring that had been neglected by me over the years and got my opener in tip-top shape. Plus, he gave me some great advice on which brands would be a better option instead of the GTO openers, down the road. I figure since he repairs them all, he ought to know! As far as I'm concerned, Joe is #1 in my book. Professional, efficient, honest and reasonable. Highly recommended.

The job was done very, very well. This company was very responsive, scheduled same day service and arrived on time. Jose inspected the problem, made recommendations for a solution and completed the repairs quickly and professionally. Jose appeared to be very experienced and knowledgeable in this field and that gave us a high level of confidence in his work. We also discussed some unevenness in the garage door and a noise that consistently occurs when the garage door is raised or lowered--2 issues that appeared early on after the builder (not this company) installed it. Jose corrected the noise problem and most of the unevenness without charging extra for his additional effort. We very much appreciate the fine work Jose did. We feel confident we will call A1 again when the need arises. We compliment this company and highly recommend it to others needing this service.

.Our gate had been giving us trouble off and on for a while. On Monday morning, it stuck in the open position as my husband was leaving for work and he was unable to get it to close. I looked for a repair person on Angie's list and called Jose at A1 Garage and Gate. I explained that our drive was very exposed to the street and I didn't want to have to leave the gate open all night. Jose was able to get someone out in about two hours to diagnose the problem. We needed a new electric eye assembly so they were able to get one and come back and install it that afternoon. By the time my husband drove up after work, it was fixed. Great service!

Provided same day emergency service for temporary repair of damaged garage door. Expedited order to decrease lead time and completed the permanent solution within a few weeks. It was a pleasure to deal with Jose. I highly recommend A-1 Garage and Jose.

Jose came on time and in about 4 hours everything was back in working order.

A1 Garage Door didn't see my Angie's List response to their suggested appointment time, so my assumption that they were coming as originally scheduled was wrong. I followed up with a phone call, and was told they never saw my reply email (through Angie's List) but rescheduled to come out the next morning. They did show up bright and early on a Saturday morning, however took one look at our gate controller, and told us the board was bad and that they refused to work on it, as they didn't care for the brand (GT Pro). So for $95, I still had a gate that didn't work, and he refused to work on it. My husband bought a controller online for $200 and replaced it, and guess what? Gate still didn't work. We called GT Pro's customer service line, and discoverd it was the RF controller that was the problem. We replaced that for $60 and now have a working gate. Long story short - A1 Garage Door cost us $300 and wasn't worth a d***.

He was curteous, punctual and fast.

A1 showed up 15 minutes early (which I loved) and diagnosed my problem right away. They provided me with a few options to fix my issue and then completed the work quickly. I appreciated the complete and thorough explanation and demonstration of my issues. After fixing the gate the repairman also showed me how to reset the gate code and remote controls as well as showing me what to watch for as far as potential issues.

The service was great. Joe was friendly and knowledgeable about garage openers. Joe replaced all of the rollers, lubed the garage door parts, and tuned up the door. My garage door didn't always close smoothly and I actually forgot to tell Joe about it. He noticed the problem anyway and was able to fix it. He even figured out why my garage light wasn't working. Nice to have that light back on! I was very impressed with the work and will definitely use A1 again.

I was impressed because he was able to do the job within a couple hours of my calling him, and the owner did his own work. He pointed out where replacement of 4 pulley wheels (2 per door) would help the way my doors were shimmering as they raised, and the difference was noticeably improved after he replaced those pulleys. He did not think I needed to replace wheels, springs, or do other work on garage doors at this time. I appreciated that he did not sell me parts unnecessarily. Note that the home and 2 garage door openers he replaced were nearly 24 years old.

I contacted A1 Garage Door and Gate Company on 5/21/13, and they were able to come out to tune up my garage door right away the next morning. Jose called me when on his way, to double-check the address. He arrived on time, was courteous and professional, and completed the garage door tune up in a very short time. Everything was lubricated, and he replaced the wheels as needed. I would definitely use Jose again!

For the most part everything went well. There was some damage made to one of the door panels but was replaced to my satisfaction.

I called the company and scheduled an appointment. The technician, José, called before the appointment to let me know he was running a little late, so we adjusted the appointment. When he arrived, José identified the problem and explained my options. He could provide one set of springs with a three-year warranty, or another with a lifetime warranty. The cost difference was minimal, so I opted for the springs with the lifetime warranty. José finished quickly, made several adjustments so the door shut perfectly, and checked to see if there was anything else I needed. He was professional, courteous, and neatly dressed. I will contact A1 first if I have any future needs.

Jose arrived on time and called when in route. He arrived and I told him to met me at the side where the garage door/driveway is. He installed the new garage door quickly. He walked me through the functionality of the remote control. He installed another panel on the outside of the door for security if I didn't have the remote control on me. In addition, he looked at my gate which had not been working for a while. He stated that I needed a new battery. I thanked him for troubleshooting this for me which he didn't charge me. This is a GREAT company they know what they are doing and very affordable and honest.

Excellent, Jose did a quick and thorough job. I called on Thurs and was scheduled on the day I chose at the time I chose. Jose was on time, called 30 minutes prior to let me know he was on his way. One of the BEST service experiences I've ever had. Thank you A1 Garage door and Angie!!!!!!!

Prompt courteous service. Fixed it RIGHT. The old wrong battery and charger came from another garage door company that I no longer frequent because of something else they did wrong. Now I learn they were just filled with wrongness. I'm glad that I've found a good company that has a clue.

Quality work. Dave and Jose are great. Jose showed up on time at 2:00 pm and figured out why our garage door would not close, It was the spring on the door. Jose needed to replace the spring on our big door and did a full maintenance and safety check on both of our doors. All this on a Sunday afternoon he was in and out within an hour and half.
