EXTREMELY HORRIBLE! 0 STARS!! WILL NEVER RECOMMEND!! They were hired on July 10, 2024 & fired on July 18, 2024 The first 2 days Ramiro Martinez & his crew showed up early BUT after down payment of $3,500 of the $4,500 was given they started slacking. 2 days of non work, by choice. Little to no communication on missed days & he wasn’t sure half the time if his workers were at our house or not. Lost our house key on the first day of work leaving us to rekey our entire home. Did not at all know how to clean up after themselves. Mess everywhere, food cans from their lunches everywhere, they left my restroom totally a mess with pee on the rimming of the toilet & feces on the rim as well. They ruined personal property such as a rocking chair the kids great grandmother gave them, mats, curtains, carpets. They were using my good personal hand towels as well as my children’s wash cloths to wash their equipment. Once fired due to incompetence & unsatisfactory work my husband & I had to finish & redo all if not most of the “work” they did. They didn’t use the equipment they said they were from the initial meeting. They were unprepared & used all my house cleaning supplies to clean. I had to tell them to go buy their own once all my supplies were diminished. Even after using all my supplies they still left our house a disaster. It took my husband & I over 2 1/2 days to clean up their mess. Had to replace over $1,000 of things they used & messed up due to their negligence & no prep work was done to ensure our personal furniture would be safe. They told me I could stay there with my kids but brought in unplanned heavy equipment which made it inhabitable for my small children leaving us without our home for a week in a hotel. Yet another unnecessary expense. When asked for half our deposit back which was $1750 Ramiro verbally & in writing via email stated he would pay us back only $1700 in 2 weeks on August 2, 2024. 2 weeks came & nothing, no payment, instead got threatened with a harassment charge & had to seek legal counseling about what we could do. We paid more than half of the full. When we asked about half in the beginning & rest at completion like a normal contractor would ask for he complained his men needed to be paid to work & he had no money other than our down payment to pay them. After payment only 2 guys showed up instead of the original 4 men that were on the first day. Very very very bad business practices. They used our paint we had bought, we had to buy more paint for them in the middle of the project after stating in the initial meeting they would get the paint & it was apart of the cost. They left a big mess of waste in my backyard, left paint all in my garden bed up front & my pets started eating the waste they left in the backyard & got very sick. It also killed my backyard grass. My husband had to leave work early one day to make sure they were doing work & to get rid of the waste they left in the backyard, my husband also had to miss a day of work to repair some of the major issues they left behind & did improperly. Yet another financial burden caused by Ramiro Martinez & Kimberly Perez at R&K. We had a party the weekend after on July 20th which was made known at the initial meeting & promised all work would be done & cleaned. It wasn’t. I had to clean up from 5am till 3am for 2 days straight & started bleeding from exhaustion being in late pregnancy. We documented, recorded & took pictures of all the mess, text messages, conversations & times they came & left caught on our cameras in our home & each room they left unfinished, along with the work my husband & I had to redo. We are still coming across things they had ruined almost a month later & need to be redone or replaced. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. This was our first time hiring anyone to do any work on our house & after this experience it will be the last as well. Last time we will be using Angi’s list to find anyone too. They not only put a bad name on themselves given I’m not the only review that is absolutely horrified by their work, but a bad name on angis list too. This whole agreement & work with R&K has left us out financially, emotionally & physically. Will never recommend & will always talk about this experience to ensure this never happens to anyone else again.

R&K Painting & Renovation (R&K), including Ramiro Martinez and Kimberly Perez, owners started the job on June 3, 2024, and were fired on July 2, 2024, due to the extremely poor quality of work the company did and the condition my house was in each day after they left for the day. The constant chaos and stress I endured during this period were significant, to say the least. • On July 10, 2024, I engaged a professional home inspector to conduct a meticulous examination of the work done by R&K. His comprehensive report, which I can provide upon request, unequivocally labeled the work as 'Deficient ', and recommended immediate repair or adjustment for proper functionality. • Five different contractors, all of whom have inspected the job, have unanimously concurred that the work done by R&K was substandard. • FLOORING - 1. The invoice clearly stated that waterproof flooring was to be installed. However, it was discovered that significantly cheaper, non-waterproof flooring was used, indicating a clear case of misrepresentation. 2. 3. The manufacturer's guidelines, which were clearly disregarded, stipulate leaving a minimum of 1/8” space between the edge of the flooring and the walls. This oversight has led to the floor buckling and cracking a clear sign of incompetence. 3. 4. The spacing when laying the plank flooring was not as the manufacturer or industry standards recommended. It is disappointing that R&K failed to meet even the most basic industry standards. Note: I was forced to remove all the flooring installed by R&K, purchase waterproof flooring, and have it installed correctly. This unnecessary expense has significantly added to the financial burden caused by R&K's substandard work, a burden that I should not have had to bear. • INTERIOR PAINTING 1. They did not cover or protect anything before using a spray gun to paint – white over-spray paint was on ALL my good furniture, antiques, dishes, my Mother’s Bible, etc. • WALK-IN SHOWER 1. The floor had to be demolished and redone due to standing water. It was not level and did not drain. Two different contractors and the House Inspector verified this. • EXTERIOR PAINTING & WORK 1. Ramiro Martinez said all outside work was completed. I paid him without double-checking his work—my mistake. The work was not completed, and what was done needs to be done over. 2. Nothing was cleaned before painting, even though the job called for power washing the house & garage, dirt dauber nest, and spider webs were painted over, when the shutters were reinstalled, they did not replace the middle screw, silver screws were used on black shutters, the corners of several shutters were broken when replacing them, rust was painted over on the garage doors, this is just a few of the items done incorrectly. There is too much to list, and nothing was ever corrected. • PAYMENTS 1. Due to Bill S.'s review, I discussed payment with Ramiro before the job started. He assured me that they would get a down payment, and the balance due would be payable when the job was completed. However, this did not happen. He asked for additional money several times and asked me to purchase materials that were part of the price. EVERYTHING DONE BY R&K, BOTH EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR, MUST BE COMPLETELY DONE OVER OR REPAIRED. I have picture documentation of all the work done by R&K. Only 10 pictures can be posted. However, if anyone is interested in seeing the type of work R&K does before you hire them, you ask, and I will send you additional pictures. You may judge for yourself.

Horrible from day #1. 3-5 day project turned in to over 21 days. Ended up that he never finished what we agreed on and he handed the project off to one of his helpers as an independent contractor. Would not show up and wouldn’t even call. Asked for more money halfway through the project stating that his guys needed to get paid. When I said no, he kicked back with “I thought you would be reasonable and understand that my guys need to get paid or they won’t work”. Never again will I hire anyone and pay them for material up front. I paid him close to 60% down for a deck as well as for the completion of interior. After he pushed both projects off I ended up buying more material. Horrible business practices. Will only accept cash or check. Then complains that he can’t get it cashed. He ended up using a check cashing company that charges at least 10% to cash. Ended up paying him over $10,000 for unfinished work. Took my wife and I over a day to clean up after his and his guys. My wife and I are having to finish the deck ourselves due to not finishing after I give them a deadline after over 3 weeks from agreed upon start date.

Ramiro and his crew did Amazing work on my house inside and out They were very neat and clean ,and fast with a amazing finish Highly recommended!!

Contractor did an awesome job! Did the estimate and handled the early phase of the job. Also I love how they had options for color coordination. Communication was awesome, everything I asked for was done correctly…. And the rest of the paint crew were punctual, professional, and hard-working.
