I used another company.
Description of Work: I needed repair on a Sub-Zero refrigerator freezer. Anthony came to my house and gave me a written estimate of $795. I paid him $95 for his time and then called C&W Services, Inc (see my review), an authorized Sub-Zero repair company. C&W fixed my problem, with genuine Sub-Zero parts for $273.49. Included in that payment was $102.70 for a motor. Anthony's estimate shows $425 for that motor. I have the paperwork to prove what I just wrote.

I called and told him what my dryer was doing and asked for a approximate price over the phone. He would not even give me a ballpark and it would be $50 just for him come out and look at it. I own a bar and all of the commercial contractors I have ever dealt with tell you how much an hour they charge up front. I decided to go ahead and hire him since he could come over immediately. He ran the dryer with the door open and told me my heating coil had burned out and it would be $185 to fix. At this point I could either pay him $50 to leave or $135 more to fix my dryer and since I was tired of not having a dryer I went ahead and had him fix it. I helped him turn my dryer over so he could get to the back cover and then the mailman rang the door bell and I had to leave to sign for a package. By the time I got back to the dryer the cover was back on, the dryer was upright and it was finished. I never even saw the back cover off and find it unlikely he could have done any work in the time I was at the door. I like to watch repairman as they work to make sure they fix what they are supposed to. He charged me $40 for a part (but didn't give me the old broken one) and $150 for labor. It took him all of 3 minutes to fix the problem and he was in my house less than 20 and charged my $185. I was not happy and I would not be surprised if all that was wrong was a loose wire but I'll never know because I didn't see the repair. The heating element went out on my dryer about 5 years ago and the gentleman that came out and fixed it charged me $80 for parts and labor, wish I still had his card!
Description of Work: My dryer was no longer heating.
