J & S Remodeling

Painting the interior doors was the last of the remodel and we just never could find time to finish it. We called Jim. He gave us a quote and was able to start the next day. The painting is very well done and way much better than we could have done ourselves. We had 10 doors painted and locks and knobs changed on 9 of them. We're thrilled with the work.

James Nye had done work on my house previously and I was thrilled with it. Of course the 30 year old tub looked terrible with my brand new porcelain tile floor he'd installed on a previous job. So I asked James to write an estimate for replacing the whole tub area. The old tub, tile, backer board and sheet rock were removed. James checked the studs for damage (none). He replaced the tub and the new tile was installed from the tub to the ceiling as well as new tub fixtures. While the order I did the bathroom remodel is not the proper way to do it, but with the phenominal job he did it looks like it was all done at the same time! James' attention to detail, concern for the job to be done correctly and the fact that he cleans up his work area EVERY night has made this project a huge sucess. I still have tile remodel projects to go (backsplash in the kitchen and a master bath remodel) and will hire James again for both.

The work had the normal problems but was completed with not a few problems remaining. The kitchen tile wasn't installed properly around the electrical outlets. The biggest problem was that the master bath floor tile was not installed correctly. Several phone calls over a couple of months were not returned. It's been six months and it looks like another contractor will have to be hired to fix the problems.
