We have used this company for long, long time for heating and A/C service. They have been terrific and we have used them for about eight years I guess. The overall experience has been excellent and I haven't had any problems with them. Their price is also competitive. I would continue using them in future.
Description of Work: Our heating & A/C stopped working so they replaced it for me. We also have a permanent service contract with them and they come out about twice a year and take care of our heating & air conditioning system.

The quality of the installation was first-rate, but I the whole process took several weeks. The unit they first sold me was unavailable, then the stand that the unit sits on on the roof wasn't measured accurately, and finally, they failed to provide the promised service person with a ladder so that the city inspection could be completed. Overall, I spent parts of five days waiting for them.

This company did not properly install an expensive heating and cooling system that should have been a wonderful upgrade to my home. They left me stranded in the heat of summer with no ac. They used subcontractors that they did not take responsibility for and did not have properly trained staff to install the system I purchased. The bad installation left me with property damage that I had to pay for out of my own pocket. After months of trying to get Quigley to fix my ac and heat issues, I finally paid them $10K, a discount of $1500 off the original estimate. It was not really a discount as they did not file the manufacture's rebate. I have since had problems with the system and they refuse to honor the warranty. The experience was so bad that I am in contact with Trane to see what can be done to get my system working properly. Unfortunately installation is key and I worry that my decision to use Quigley means that I will have years of problems with my new system. Do not use this company for any large jobs. They had a good reputation when the company was run by the founder. However, during my struggles with Quigley, I learned that the owner had recently died and the company was now under the control of the owner's children. Sadly they do not have the same commitment to quality and I believe the reputation that Quigley had previously earned is no longer appropriate.
Description of Work: Purchased new a/c and heater manufactured by Trane, including new thermostats and added zones to improve efficiency.

see above... it was two days of ALOT of work around the house, but definately worth it!!
Description of Work: Blake came out to give us a bid to replace our furnace and AC (two units each). They were the only company that did a heat load estimate, looked at the number of uptakes and vents we had as well as the current placement... and the amount of insulation. We chose Quigley not only b/c their price was right on for what we wanted, but b/c the extra work we needed was figured in at no additonal cost (except the insulation, of course). Our systems were over 16 years old and not at all efficient, and the MBR suite addition lacked insulation...this and the lack of vents and uptakes made the house very inefficient. Taking this all into account they were able to provide us with two dual speed high efficiency AC units, and two new dual speed furnaces, appropriate new duct work, venting and uptakes throughout the house as well as programable thermostats that even control the humidity level in our house!!

Overall they did an outstanding job. They responded really quickly on one of the hottest days of the summer, but I was most impressed with their honesty. They could have easily tried to sell me into a larger problem, but it was a simple fix. The guy had the part in his van and I was up and running again in 15 minutes. I ve used them a couple times since then and have recommended them to friends (all with good feedback).
Description of Work: My AC went out this summer and they replaced a bad part in the outside unit.

I am a little upset with them. I paid for them to repair my unit about three weeks ago and had to pay almost 200 dollars for labor. Well a week later, it was messed up again and they decided to change the entire compressor and I had to pay a labor charge all over again. I don't think I should have had to when the problem was never fixed. It does work now and I am happy with that. I just think I am out of 200 dollars. I would use them again because they did come back and fix it and they were on time when they came.
Description of Work: They replaced the entire air conditioner compressor that cools my 3300 square foot house.

This is a very professional and efficient company. We feel like we're getting a lot for our money with them and also appreciate their punctuality and reliability. The servicemen who come have always been courteous and neat. They never leave anything out or leave any mess at all.
Description of Work: Quigley Heating & Air Conditioning came this spring to check my central air conditioner and to inspect all the parts and clean it. They come twice a year and we pay them annually.

They set me up for a service contract, they come out twice a year and change the filters and check the system for $119. I think it is a good deal. If they ever come out for a service visit and there is something wrong within a 2 week period they will come back at no charge.
Description of Work: They did maintenance on my a/c system checking it out and adding coolant.

An estimator came out to view the scope of work, said he would need to send his electrician out to be able to complete the estimate. No electrician ever came by or called, original estimator never returned subsequent calls. For people in service industries not to return calls is entirely unacceptable and a very poor business model for success.
Description of Work: We needed to have a ventilation fan placed in a telecom closet at our place of business, with a thermostat for control.

I would not recommend Quigley at all. I met the estimator at my home, gave him all of the information, and let him know that I was looking to get some quotes. Nobody from Quigley called me back with an estimate or anything. I had given the estimator my business card so that he could e-mail the quote, and he did not even do that. I ended up going with Sears for the installation.
Description of Work: I was looking to get my two condenser units and air handlers on my condo replaced. I got the Quigley company name from Home Depot.

SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE WAS EARLY. THEY STATED BETWEEN 8AM-10AM. BO WAS THERE BEFORE 8AM. HE WAS EFFICIENT, EXPLAINED WHY UNIT WAS NOT WORKING AND DUE TO THE PART BEING UNDER WARRANTY. ONLY CHARGED ME LABOR AND THE SERVICE CHARGE.

THE CALL WAS AFTER HOURS AND WE WANTED SAME-DAY SERVICE, BUT THE TECHNICIAN SHOWED UP AHEAD OF THE TIME HE TOLD US ON THE PHONE. HE WAS POLITE, KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND QUICKLY FOUND THE PROBLEM (BURNED OUT TRANSFORMER). HE HAD THE PART, REPAIRED THE UNIT, FIXED SOME OUTSIDE WIRING, AND WAS DONE. EXCELLENT RESPONSE AND A GOOD PRICE FOR AN AFTER HOURS CALL ON A HOT DAY.

EASILY SCHEDULED. ARRIVED ON TIME. BOTH THE ESTIMATOR AND THE TECHNICIAN WERE VERY POLITE AND HELPFUL. WE WANTED A VERY ENERGY EFFICIENT UNIT, AND WERE DISAPPOINTED BY THE FIRST ESTIMATE THAT QUOTED A SEER OF 12. THE ESTIMATE WAS REDONE FOR THE SAME PRICE WITH A SEER OF 13. WE WENT WITH ANOTHER COMPANY WHOSE ESTIMATE WAS HIGHER, BUT GAVE US A SEER OF 19.5. THAT COMPANY TOLD US THAT TRANE WAS NO LONGER MAKING THE LOW SEER UNIT, AND QUIGLEY WAS PROBABLY TRYING TO GET RID OF DISCONTINUED UNITS. THE ROUTINE MAINTENANCE WAS WELL DONE AND REASONABLY PRICED.

OVERALL EXPERIENCE AWFUL. WORKER CLAIMED WE WOULD NOT BE BILLED AS HE WAS SO LATE HE WAS UNABLE TO DO ANYTHING, AND TO SIMPLY CALL AND RESCHEDULE FOR ANOTHER TIME. WE THEN RECEIVED A BILL, WHICH THE COMPANY WAS INSISTENT THAT WE PAY. ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT WAS EXTREMELY RUDE, CALLED ME NAMES, AND I HAD TO TALK TO 4 DIFFERENT PEOPLE BEFORE THEY AGREED TO NOT BILL ME. I WILL NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY AGAIN. CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE!

WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THE RESPONSIVENESS ON THE INITIAL ESTIMATE AND THE INSTALLATION. THE QUIGLEY REP - BILL OATS - NOTICED SOME PROBLEMS WITH RETURN AIR SYSTEM IN OUR HOUSE THAT WERE MISSED BY THE OTHER COMPANIES THAT INSPECTED OUR FURNACE. MR. OATS FOLLOWED UP ON THESE PROBLEMS AND LOCATED AND FIXED OTHER ISSUES. IT'S IMPRESSIVE BECAUSE I WOULD HAVE NEVER NOTICED THE FAULTY EXISTING DUCT WORK, AND IT CREATED MUCH ADDITIONAL WORK FOR HIM. THE ACTUAL INSTALLERS WERE NOT AS DILIGENT AS THE ONSITE MANAGER (MR. OATS). THEIR WORK WAS SATISFACTORY, BUT I'D SAY IT'S IMPORTANT TO HAVE A STRONG COMMITMENT FROM A KNOWLEDGEABLE AND CARING REP. THE FURNACE WORKS GREAT AND OUR A/C UNIT SHOULD BE MUCH MORE EFFICIENT BECAUSE OF MR. OATS' RE-ENGINEERING OF OUR DUCTS AND RETURNS.
