Arbors and Patios

Luis, the owner, is completely brilliant. He advised the decorative concrete patio, when my own idea was to replace the deck with composite material (lower maintenance). He was right, and I am the envy of my neighbors. The guidance and advice he provided along the way were spot on. His knowledge and experience showed at every step. And his team is amazing. Fast, professional, knowledgeable, and skilled. My project was completed on time and the price was really very good value. I would highly recommend.

Luis Carrasaco was hired to demo and pour a new driveway. Unfortunately, he was extremely difficult to work with as he was very unresponsive and took days to respond and when he did respond he didn't give the requested information. Also, he was paid $10,000 up front as a deposit on a $66,000 driveway/sidewalk/patio job and he only complete demolition of the driveway. The $10,000 was to cover demolition, complete grading and all the way to forms of the new driveway. The project was put on hold after he had completed demolition because we had to bring heavy equipment to the back of the house in order to begin construction on an addition in the back of the house (separate from this project) and didn't want to damage the new driveway. Luis agreed to hold off. However, once we were ready for him to continue, he demanded that we pay him MORE even though according to our contract he had not completed or earned the full $10,000 - he had earned 1/2 at best. We demanded the return of the remainder and he refused and eventually stopped responding to our requests. I had my attorney contact him via letter and he still refused to respond. Now, I am having to sue him and his company for the $5000 that he owes us. I would be very wary of this man - he's a scammer.

Great. It look good and they were in and out and cleaned up within 2 days.

7/23/2019 I called, left message to call me. Never called back.\ 7/25/2019 I left message - I also filled out their contact system on their website. 7/29/2019 No return call - Not a word from them. It’s like I’m invisible. I’m banging at their door trying to give them money and they don’t answer.

Mr. Luis is the most professional and patient gentleman. He always quickly responded to any of our request before and during the job. Mr. Luis also has the best crew who did an outstanding job to make my broken retaining wall like a new wall again. They also cleaned up the working area nicely. Mr. Luis is very busy, I've waited for more than a week to get the home visit scheduled. But all my wait is paid off since I found the best company to repair my retaining wall! If you can't get the second-day estimate scheduled, I think you shall wait. I highly recommend Arbors and Patios. I will definitely hire them again for my future outdoor improvements.

Abysmal Customer Service. Was called 15 minutes before our scheduled meeting that Luis was in traffic and would need 45 minutes before arrival. Appreciated the update - not a problem! Thirty minutes after the 45 time estimate, no update from Luis or the home office. Was there more traffic, an accident, what? Called the home office - no answer. Left a message. Waited another 30 minutes. Called back. Still no answer, so I left a final message - if we didn't receive any kind of update in the next 20 minutes, we could only assume Arbors and Patios was not going to follow through and that we were cancelling the meeting. Never heard back. Lost an entire morning to these jokers. I hope you treat other customers better than you treated us.

The manager was very professional and responsive to our needs. The personnel who performed the construction were awesome. Their skills are unmatched. Workers were prompt, responsive and took care of our property and cleaned up after themselves everyday.

Excellent workmanship, used care in performing extra details in laying pavestone pattern and finishing concrete edging. Our patio and gravel firepit are beautiful. Highly recommend Arbors and Patios!

The job went smoothly from the get go. They showed up as scheduled and did a lovely job. I was very pleased. I will plan additional projects with this company. They were very professional and took pride in their work. I have several projects from adding a sunroom to fixing poorly done construction by prior unprofessional contractors.

Luis is very good with people. He knows how to interact with you in the initial meeting to give you the confidence his team can do a quality job and that they know what they are doing. I talked to a few companies, and he was the best at that and got the job. I wanted to wait a few months before posting a review, because I wanted to see how the concrete was aging. So far, so good. No cracks and everything seems to be of the best quality. I know that there are two type of concrete. Concrete that will crack and concrete that has cracked. It's inevitable to happen, but for it to go through its initial hardening cycle with no cracking was a good sign for me. There were a few annoyances where I didn't think they were listening to me as they were doing the job. This led to them having to come back and do some re-work, but the re-work solved the concerns. I never saw Luis after the initial meeting and felt that if he would have come and see the job with his own eyes, he would have better understood what I was saying. This was not the case during contracting as they were listening and added terms that I thought should be in the contract. All in all, I would hire them again. I know that I would have some different conversations in the beginning, but it was far from a bad experience. As said, just some annoyances. From a price stand point, I felt they were competitively priced for the quality of work. If you value quality over the cheapest price, I think you will be happy. If you are looking for the cheapest price, you can probably beat their price, but it is highly likely that you will sacrifice quality.

When we purchased our 30 year-old home we loved it but knew it had to be updated, in particular the bathrooms and the kitchen area (which included the laundry and the formal dining room). The house was very compartmentalized. It had a small, hidden kitchen that was not connected to anything except for the breakfast nook. Next to the kitchen on one side there was a laundry room and on the other side there was a formal dinning room, but all of these rooms were separate. We wanted to open the whole area up as much as possible, but as we quickly realized, the project presented real structural challenges (three different ceilings and elevations, dividing walls, etc). We knew that in addition to the design aspect we had to deal with the structural aspect of the project. In order to help us with this process, we hired an structural architect who provided us with several floor plans. All of her proposals opened the kitchen somewhat but left the laundry in its original location, which meant that we could not use the entire space for the kitchen and dining room. All of her proposals had supporting beams that would interfere with the line of sight. I was not getting what I wanted and was becoming increasingly disappointed. During this process I was also talking to Mirna and Luis from Arbors and Patios, who had built a beautiful outdoor kitchen and patio for us in our previous house. When discussing the possibilities for the project Luis and Mirna began to propose great ideas that could help us deal with the issues in this complex project. I ultimately trusted them because they had done great work for us in the past and because their ideas were the best we heard so far. Luis and Mirna proposed that the laundry was relocated, and that the different ceilings were elevated and made into a single, unified ceiling. The kitchen now is open, airy and amazing. The entire space is full of light and modern! By removing the bay window and adding the panoramic window we now have fantastic views of the outdoors, we love it! I feel that hiring Arbors and Patios was the best thing we could have done for our house. For us just as important as the quality of their construction work were the ideas and insights they provided which to made our house the most beautiful and functional space possible.

Luis and team provided original, unique design ideas and then built accordingly with beautiful craftsmanship.

They were very professional and did a good job. We had a few delays because of the weather and other problems with our deck, which they were the only ones of the bidders to notice and point out. They were very easy to work with and I would do it again.

Luis and his team did an excellent job replacing my rotting wood deck with a no maintenance composite material. His crew was polite and professional. I definitely will use him again. Jeff Bayer

Someone came and and looked at my yard to see what needed to be done. He explained what he'd have to do, took some measurements and give me an estimate. I decided to go with someone else.

Excellent. I got bids from three firms on which I'd had good reviews. Arbors and Patios was one of the three. Luis, the owner, worked with me directly to understand what I wanted and put together a bid. The bid was not inexpensive but was in line with similar bids from the other firms. Luis was exceptionally helpful in sitting down with my wife and I and giving us ideas on different ways we could approach the project. He was very knowledgeable on every aspect of the project and helped us work through how to design the patio and pergola, materials to use, different options with the pros and cons of each option. After looking at his reviews from other customers on line and asking Luis a lot of questions we decided to use Arbors and Patios to do the project. The work performed was exceptional. His crew was there when he said they would be, they were very professional and courteous, and very skilled at the work contracted. They originally estimated it would take a couple weeks to complete the project but they brought a pretty good size crew and finished the entire project in just a little over half the estimated time. That doesn't mean they rushed the job. The attention to detail was great and the man in charge of the pergola construction took the time to explain what they were doing at every step and stop and answer questions for me whenever I had them. We also had them add polycarbonate panels on the roof of the pergola so there would be good natural lighting on the porch but it would actually be covered so the outdoor space could still be used in the rain and would be protected from the elements. It added to the cost, polycarbonate is not cheap, but I believe it was well worth it. I was also having the pergola wired for lights and fans. Luis' firm didn't do the electrical work but he acted as a coordinator for us with one of the electrical contractors they use frequently and that work was also completed to exactly my request. The end result looks incredible. The quality of the materials and the workmanship are outstanding. It was a fairly large backyard project for us and we were a little nervous about how it would all look. You visualize things but until you see them completed there is always that doubt. I can tell you my wife and I could not be happier with the way it all turned out and the work Luis did.

Luis's team at Arbors and Patios were fantastic. Luis, the owner was incredibly professional, communicated with us regularly and also provided a lot of details to help us make design decisions etc. He has separate teams specializing in carpentry, concrete and masonry respectively. Each team had a team lead who was great to communicate with. They always arrived promptly, completely their work promptly and tidied up after they finished. We are beyond happy with the backyard transformation they did. Our stamped concrete patio and arbor are beautiful. You can tell that Luis and his team take great pride in their work and have great attention to detail. I highly recommend them!

The job was done promptly. The pergola turned out beautifully. The only downside was we were expecting the company to also install the electric and irrigation for the pots. We were told he had subcontractors that would complete the work although it would be for an additional charge. . This was not arranged for us. We called the people he recommended and ended up making our own arrangements. The final product was excellent but for a company that does major landscaping jobs you would expect they would be able to do electrical and irrigation.

I called and Luis said he will stop by, take a look and give me a quote, I've been patiently waiting since then, several days passed, no show up and no call at all
