Arbors and Patios

Description of Work: Arbors and Patios built a custom-patio cover. They reviewed my site, listened to what I desired, and made suggestions. They then developed the design on paper, provided the specifications I needed to obtain the building permit; including the expansion of the concrete floor to meet my desired patio size. The final product is just what I wanted. Arbors and Patios knows what to do and how to get the project completed. I will recommend them to my neighbors!

Description of Work: I originally purchased their "Big Deal" in April hoping to have a plan and get drawings for a section of our front lawn. Right away there were problems with scheduling. Multiple times were set-up and cancelled and I was not really sure that the final meeting was actually scheduled until I called Luis at 9am the morning we were supposed to meet at 10:30. I needed a retaining wall repaired/replaced and was hoping for landscaping behind the wall. Luis had some good suggestions on repairing or replacing the wall but did not seem to have detailed knowledge about plants or landscaping. He did email me an estimate to repair the wall ($1,900) and an estimate to replace the wall (5,000). In the mean-time our homeowners insurance had an adjuster give us an estimate which came to approx $200. Given the huge discrepancy between the insurance estimate and Luis estimate I did not go forward with any work. So basically I paid $49 for a Big Deal and instead got an estimate that they normally do for free.

Description of Work: Stained my backyard fence with a clear wood sealer

Description of Work: The owner came over and gave me a bid on redoing my small back yard. He was on the phone most of the time dealing with other jobs. He sent me the bid price and it was way out of my price range. I did not have him back to do the work.

Description of Work: Luis Carrasco is an excellent salesman with lots of vision. His suggestions were exactly what we were looking for. Where he falls short is on his communication, response time, and project management. What started off as a $6,500 deal ended up costing $13,897 plus another $2,700 for the grill set. The deal was for a 12x12 cedar arbor, 12x14 roman slate seamless textured skin stamped concrete patio, and Oklahoma stone 6' grill island 36" tall. We added 294 sq ft of concrete, 4 1/2 feet more to the island, an extension to our gas line to reach the island, and electrical work for our hot tub. Our project was delayed due to HOA permits not being issued timely, but once we received it, I had to threaten to change contractors before Luis returned my calls/text. (He originally told me that he often did not answer his phone because he never answered a call when he was with a client and that I should text him and he'd be sure to get right back). This became the norm - that I had to send multiple texts or leave multiple messages before Luis would get back to me. The concrete slab looked nice but he promised to seal it on Thursday. I texted him Friday because it had not been sealed and he agreed that our hot tub would be delivered and installed on Saturday. I texted him again Saturday when his guys did not show up on time. They showed up ten minutes before the hot tub arrived and painted the wet sealer on the area the hot tub was to be laid literally minutes before the hot tub went down. The hot tub company was not happy with this and stated they would have to lay the hot tub on the wet sealant due to our agreed upon delivery time. This was not the first time his crew arrived late. For the slab pouring, Luis told me to have the driveway cleared the night before because his men would be arriving at 6:30 a.m. They did not arrive till 8:30 a.m. So we waited two hours on a Saturday for nothing. As of this morning, the hot tub is laid on the wet sealant, the island is on day three of being installed (the men basically laid two rows of brick each day for the past two days - they were on the phone a lot during this time), and the arbor team just arrived so we have complete chaos out there and no sign of Luis - who still has not returned my call from last night. So while we believe the project will look great in the end, we are very displeased with Luis' level of customer service and if I had to do it over, I probably would not use him for this reason only. He is a nice man but we truly feel he needs an assistant to help him stay on top of his project management. If you are able to micromanage his team, you'd probably love his work. If all goes well, I'll update my rating once everything is complete but as it stands now, I'm pretty frustrated with the lack of project management.

Description of Work: Purchased the $49 evaluation, he was 2 hrs. Late, about half way in the process he stated " I'm late for my next app." I asked about the computer generated lay-out, |( one of the reason why I purchased this) I don't do that, you do it ur self, he say's! |I've call you (Angie's list) twice on this still no call back, so what's up!

Description of Work: They were on time and did a great job. They removed the sod and poured a 12 x 16 concrete patio. Instructed me on how to take care of it as well. The job went smooth. Compared to the other two bids the price was reasonable. I will keep them in mind when I have any driveway work

Description of Work: I had purchased a voucher to evaluate and plan an outdoor living project design in January 2014, and received a consultation a couple of days later. Although I received an estimate after the consultation, it took over a month to get the project design, which was the service I paid for. Overall, I gave this company a "B" rating because I do not like chasing down professionals that I do business with for services that I pay for, plus they still have my property survey which they said they would return in March.

Description of Work: I bought the design package. My calls were answered right away and they came out in a very timely manner. I received the estimate and computer drawings within about 5 days. They also followed up with a call after I received them. I am very happy with the ideas they had, and when I am ready to start the project they will be at the top of my list for consideration.

Description of Work: The service provider responded very promptly to my purchase as well as subsequent email and was helpful in directing us to Angie's List for refund procedures.

Description of Work: The landscapers arrived on time. We consulted & they performed all the tasks including creating a new bed along a fence, removing 30yr old bushes then mulching up the beds with compost & removing an area of ground cover. They finished a little ahead of the time allotted & asked if I had anything else that needed to be done. They were professional, knowledgeable & efficient. I would use them again, & probably will later this spring.

Description of Work: I am looking to have a patio cover installed. On 3/18 I requested that someone contact me through their website and received an email on 3/19 that someone would get back to me soon. As of 3/25 no one has contacted me. I'm not sure what "soon" means to them but after 7 days I've decided to go elsewhere.

Description of Work: I had a flagstone patio that had shifted and become unsafe because of tree roots. Arbors and Patios removed the trees and roots (not easy!) and put down a gorgeous patterned concrete patio that matched the colors in the house brinks. Additionally, they installed a pergola over the bigger part of the patio. Luis and his team were highly professional at all times and were a delight to work with. Lastly, they understood the need to make sure our dogs were safe and never left a gate or space open that would have allowed them to get out. I will use this company again in a heartbeat!
