Description of Work: Glenn was thorough and very friendly. He took time to explain the issues that were deficient and helped my husband and me to understand which items needed immediate repair (in his opinion) versus items that were less immediate. Ultimately it was our decision but his feedback was invaluable.

He was timely to the appointment, but neglected to call the seller to set up the appointment, luckily they were home and available. He noticed several items that I had not noticed. I told him I wanted to walk around with him to view everything, but he disappeared several times without taking me with him, just saying he'd be back. He was very nice and seemed very knowledgeable, but he missed several items that we later noticed needed repair including a broken gate, paint needed on trim of home, and water heater needed replacement (not just minor repair as he stated).

Glenn was on time and quickly provided his report in spite of the ice storm that weekend. His prices were competitive. That was the good news. Now the not so good ... Overall I didn't feel like he did a very thorough job. I've bought or sold 4 houses in the last two years and of the 4 reports, his was the least thorough and the only one to not include photographs or take me around and point out items. One of the things that he really missed was noticing and putting together 2 + 2 about how poorly the house was maintained in general. He should have seen the and quot;100and quot; things that were poorly maintained and make a general condition comment. Since I've moved in I've spent several thousand dollars on more pressing maintenance issues than any he caught. I've yet to address any of the issues he found. A recommendation is that you should find a pool guy to do the pool or spa. I had someone come in later for $65 and found a number of things that needed fixed that Glen completely missed. These included a leak, a broken check valve, a SPA switch that had broken off, a booster pump with a bad bearing. You get the picture... With respect to the outside ... he didn't look at a thing but the pool. But again there are a number of issues. If I knew then what I knew now, I wouldn't have bought the home or would have greatly reduced the offer.
Description of Work: Provided a home inspection for a home purchase. Also inspected the pool.

I reached Glenn by phone to schedule the inspection, and we worked out the details via text. He arrived on time at the home that was to be inspected and went straight to work, in spite of rainy weather. My husband and I met with Glenn at the conclusion of the inspection. He generated his report in real-time, on his lap top, and included digital photographs of everything significant in the report. He talked us through his findings and showed us the actual areas of concern. He was extremely thorough. We also hired a structural engineer to examine the foundation, and his findings were consistent with Glenn's. Through conversation with Glenn, we learned he has worked with reputable builders and architects in our neighborhood, which instilled us with even more confidence in his skills.
Description of Work: We hired Glenn Harrison to inspect a home we had under contract to purchase. It is a 4600 square foot house. The inspection itself cost $600, and termite inspection was $90. This is the second time we hired Glenn, as he had also inspected our current home in 2007.
