Duanes Mobile Home Leveling

Description of Work: Called for just leveling on my 80 x 18 single wide, he quoted me $1800. This quote is so out of line, what he didn’t know was that I had already talked to Lonestar Leveling, and they gave me a firm price of $875, which they will be here 12/7/22. When talking to Duane, he started telling he was gonna do this, and then do that! He also assumed underneath was a mess! I’m a former Aircraft QC Director, Chief Inspector, and QA/QC Manager, and I keep all my stuff clean and in good order! I guess with as little business he gets, I guess he feels he has to make his monthly income off me!

Description of Work: I contacted him to level my mobile home. This was to involve jacking it up and adding supports.

Description of Work: I found this man's name in the local paper. I used him twice. I have a double wide mobile home. the 1st time I used him he charged me $1200.00. A week after he leveled my home it began to drop down on both outer sides. I called him back & he looked it over & told me that he did not level the perimeter level of the home only the middles like the mobile home people do when they deliver it & it would cost me another $800.00 to do peremiter levelling. so I said well I can't let it go like this are it will pop apart, so I told him to go ahead. I also employed him to replace the bellydown that covers the insulation under the house. I think that cost me $300.00. The next year I had to call him back because I was going to have some upgrades done on the house & I wanted to have it leveled 1st, he came and leveled the house & because he was the last to level the house he only charged me $850.00. 3 days later I could not close my back door. I called him & left a message on his phone ,but he never returned my call. I continued to call him to no avail. 1 day his wife answered the phone & I told her the problem that I was having with my door. I had to go to the hardware store & buy a door jam& only pray that no one pushed on the door & broke in. She said she would tell him & he would return my call. He never did. I had the other work done on my house & the workmen called me to show me the blocks that this man had put under my house for perimeter levelling most of them you could take your hand & push them, They were not supporting anything, & the under belly was not stuck to the frame of the home in several places. Oh and the door that would not shut, my daughter came over & jimmie rigged the door so that I could at least shut & lock it. I have to poke towels in the cracks to stop the cold air from blowing in & the heat from blowing out. Just the reverse in the summer. Thank you for letting me vent. If you hire this man make sure you have some kind of warranty in writing. I don't know what good it will do you ,because he will not return your calls.
