We had paid $200 back in 2012 for a 5 year protection plan for the wine cooler. Our wine cooler suddenly stopped working. We called this company and they told us they would arrange for a company within 48 hours. They did call us back within 48 hours and they gave us the name of a company. We waited for the company to call us, and they company didn't call us. So we called the company 48 hours later and the company said we just got the information but we can't schedule you because we haven't been paid. I called back to the warranty company and said they would not schedule because they hadn't paid them. They said they would look into it. Another day went by and I called again and they said they sent a message email to our division who takes care of this and you should hear from them shortly. Well that took a full week and half, and then they scheduled the company and the company never came out. Whatever happened there I don't know. Then they said they were doing this with a second company. The second company took another week. The second company was sent and had to wait a half a day for them to come. When they came they said they were going to make a recommendation to have it replaced because its the compressor and it's going to cost more to fix it then do it. I said fine, and how long does it take for you to notify the company? They said they would know within a day and usually it takes about three days for them to make a decision. We waited and we heard nothing and we called back to the warranty company. They said they cancelled that order and were sending another company out. I said the company came out I don't know why you need to cancel, that makes no sense. They said the company they sent out was not a certified company to fix your wine cooler. I said, why would you send them out to begin with? They said because if it were something simple then it would be fine. So we waited another week and a half and again they hadn't paid this company. They finally paid this company to come out. They sent out a guy and he was supposed to be there within a 4 hour window and showed up way after that. I lost another day of work. He came back and said the same thing. Sent the information back to the company. I called Warrentech again and they said they were sending out a supervisor. I said why are you sending out a supervisor? They said because the person they sent was not certified to do the job. So now we are 4 weeks in. I had to take all my wine that I had in my wine cooler and put it in the refrigerators that I have. I had no room for food. The third person came out again on a Tuesday. The first Tuesday I lost a full day of work. They had given me a window between 10:30 and 1:30 and I was the first person on the call list. So the assumption that they would be out around 10:30, so again I didn't go to work. They came out at 1:30 because when I called them that morning they said they were doing some work in the shop first. So again I lost another day of work. He came at 1:30 and fortunately he fixed it. He had a blow torch and he knew what he was doing and he fixed whatever. But that is the mess we went through for close to a month just trying to get the right person here from some company. I didn't want necessarily a new fridge. I wanted it fixed. I don't know where they were. I didn't ask where they are located. They just said they sent people out from our area. I assume they have a list, book or whatever and that is how they choose somebody. They were trying to figure out what was wrong with it, which I understand. That is what you normally do. So you send out a repair company to take a look at it. But you send out a repair company that #1 knows your product and #2 is certified to take care of your product. This business about it's the wrong person or company, that's ridiculous. First if you are sending out a company you have to have some kind of agreement so they don't have to wire money to someone so that we have to wait for that to be done. I have never heard of anything like that. The second thing is that they have to pick a company that can service the product. To send someone out that isn't allowed to service the product, what is the purpose of that? They need to have providers that manage the products that they protect. We purchased the warranty. We didn't have options for different price ranges. They just asked if wanted one and it's a five year warranty, and we said yes. That is how we did it and we paid whatever it is they asked us for. On the phone they were fine. They were courteous, the people on the phone. I am going to also tell the sales company what kind of company they allow for a service contract. They need to get somebody else.
Description of Work: We had purchased a protection plan for a wine cooler.
