I am so sorry this job (adding surge protectors) did not go well, we learned about this failure more than 2 years after the job (Spring 2011). The Journeyman electrician with 30 years of experience on the job, did not indicate that there was a problem. But he no longer works at Peerless Electric.

We do apologize if the home owner was disappointed. Initially, we rebuilt the electric service for his home ($2200.00). As that job went smoothly and he was pleased with our company, he then contacted us to inquire the cost to install a ceiling fan. The standard price to replace a standard fan is $158.00. When we returned to install the fan, that is when the technicians learned that the installation was for a fan that was 8 ft. across, with 3 motors total and the location to be installed was a 16 ft. ceiling. The high ceiling and the much larger and complicated fan does run more to install and at that time we advised the homeowner that the increase for the installation would be $600. He chose not to have the fan installed at that time. There was no charge made to the homeowner as there was a misunderstanding on our part for the full scope of the work that was necessary. Again, we do apologize for any disappointment and any misunderstanding with the homeowner as we take great care in our service to our clients.

Description of Work: I contacted Peerless to look at several ceiling fans in my home and give me an assessment of whether any of them needed to be replaced. They identified three fans that needed replacement. I told them that I wanted them to replace the fans and to secure the replacement fans that would be appropriate replacements. The serviceman said they would do so. Then, I heard nothing from them for several weeks. I have had to move to another provider. I should have known not to use Peerless because despite their Angie's list rating, I had a previous problem with electrical work they had done at my home. I did not recall that it was the same company until after I had made this most recent appointment.

We normally do not provide ceiling fans due to the large variety to choose from. But at the home owners request we turned to three different suppliers (including Lowes), trying to find the fans they wanted. We called and left a message to let the home owner know that we could not locate the Brite Brass fans they requested, and never heard back from them.

Description of Work: I had a ceiling fan replaced for a bargain price, and later I had my home fuse box upgraded/consolidated and the electric lines to the house replaced. They did a great job for a decent price- I haven't had any issues with any of the work. Nice people- good work. I'll have them back next year to install a light fixture.
