Peerless Electric

I used them two times. The first time was 3 months ago and the second time was 2 months ago. I spent $175 the first time and $700 the second time. I called them at 5:30 pm and they came out by 6:30 pm. Everything was excellent. I will continue to use them.

Showed up on time and performed the services in a timely manner. Made some recommendations about other services I might need or be interested in. Overall a very positive experience.

Peerless Electric was great to work with! I got to know this company when I purchased one of the Big Deals on Angie's List for a whole-house surge protector ($175). The next morning, I received a pleasant follow-up call from Peerless. We scheduled the installation visit for a couple of days later. The technician was on time and very polite. He had the surge protection unit installed very quickly and, in the process, also helped me figure out why our heater would not come on due to a flipped switch in the attic. After he finished explaining the surge protector and warranty to me, I asked him if he would be able to help me out with a few other electrician-related tasks. We were just moving into the house and needed to replace a thermostat and a couple of large light fixtures in the kitchen. The technician had enough flexibility in his schedule that day to help me out with these tasks, too. The rate I was charged was very reasonable based on my prior experiences with electrician's fees, and I was thrilled to be able to get so many things off of my moving "to do" list. I will definitely use Peerless Electric the next time we need electrical work done. :) UPDATE: April 24, 2012 We have called Peerless Electric back out for new issues that we discovered in the house we just bought. They were once again AMAZING to work with and got literally every problem resolved, including one that I didn't realize was related to the electrical issues we knew about. We have worked with six or seven contractors in this move-in process, but no other contractor has come close to matching Peerless Electric's fantastic service. We highly recommend them to anyone in the DFW area.

Peerless was very responsive. They responded quickly and got us scheduled right away. They came out the next day, the technician was right on time and called before to let us know he was on his way. He was friendly, professional, explained things and completed the work quickly. We would recommend them and use them in the future.

Called Thursday and they were out the next morning. They called 30 minutes before arrival and were right on time. Repair was done quickly and properly for the quoted price.

Electrician, Freddy, phoned ahead to confirm he was on the way. He was totally professional and courteous. He completed the work in just over two hours, and it involved crawling through the attic. He treated my home with respect. I would recommend Peerless.

We were selling a house and eventually had an inspection. The inspection uncovered several electrical issues from DIY work performed by the previous owner. Al (the electrician) came out quickly and gave us a quote upfront. The price was fair and the quote detailed. The work was done in the middle of summer in the garage and attic but completed quickly and professionally. They went over all the repairs with me when they were finished. A second inspection turned up two other electrical issues and one of the Peerless' repairs didn't satisfy the inspector. Al came back out and corrected the previous repair, at no additional cost, and fixed the other two issues. Again the price was very reasonable.

My inept city building codes and inspectors (but lord help you if a winter weed exceeds 6") actually allowed a house to be built with a circuit breaker panel with no main circuit breaker and living room lights and plugs connected to the HEATER in lieu of the circuit breaker panel. In addition to all of that fun, we were receiving 130 volts throughout the house which significantly shortens the life of Tv's, computers, lightbulbs, dishwashers, etc etc etc. I contacted several electric contractors which all quoted 2000-2500 and two days of work with two people for the circuit breaker panel itself. I have a family of 6, so two days would require hotel rooms, school would have been an issue and taking time off and basically having a summer vacation in town wasn't a great solution either. I found peerless on this site and decided to get another quote, they came in quoted a one man, one day completion even with my add-on's. They resolved my basic concerns of over voltage to the house, house wide surge protection, they were extremely work/goal oriented. They completed the work on time, actually hours earlier than expected they provided me a list of a few items of concern for them that needed to be addressed and left. I had them return the following week to clean up the additional items they had found and again, received the same professional, courteous service. My only complaint with Peerless is they only do electric, I REALLY wish they handled plumbing, fencing, sheetrocking, AC/Heater, new car sales/leasing, cell phones, digital TV, groceries, etc etc etc because if they did they would be the only company I'd ever deal with!!!!!!

The experience was great! The technician got here right on time. He was very friendly! He took time to explain to me what he was going to do and how the device worked. Within 25 minutes he was done! He gave me the instructions and warranty paperwork and off he went. I am very happy knowing that my house is now protected in case of a big storm and that all my big appliances are well protected. I would recommend them to anyone!

The work was done exactly as estimated and the coupon from the February book was cheerfully applied.

Excellent. Professional installation by folks who knew what they were doing. Rather pricey job, but it was done right and did take several hours to accomplish. Mr Chambers, the owner/president, and the installer were both present. Mr Chambers is personable and professional as was the installer. I would, and probably will, hire them again for electrical work. They offer a 10 % senior discount which I used on this job.

He charged me $168 for the ballast replacement and I found out after the work was performed that it actually costs around $20.

They were very efficient and called me right back. They came out gave me an estimate, and they did a good job. They were a little bit expensive, but it was worth it because they guarantee their work for a few years.

At the first appointment Daniel did an impressive job running wires for a new bathroom light, a switch for our attic fan, and a second bathroom outlet. He also replaced a very old bathroom vent/heater with a new one that I purchased, which had vent, heater and light in it, requiring more wiring than was needed for the old one. He was very knowledgeable and professional, as well as personable. At the second appointment he installed two more bathroom lights in the main bath, which included running more wires. Daniel put covers over the holes that were in the ceiling for the previous lights, as I had changed to wall lighting in both baths. He also made an adjustment to the new bath vent flap in the attic, as the manufacturer's printed instructions as to how the flap was to be positioned were not correct per a call to the customer service desk for the vent fan (it originally was making an awful racket, but after the flap was positioned differently the racket ceased), for which he didn't charge during the second appointment. I am very pleased with the quality of the work performed, but was under the impression that if several projects were performed at the same appointment (the first appointment), there would be more of a discount than the $15 Angie's List discount.

The job went very well. I made my appointment and Jim called before coming out. He asked about my concerns and had me show him where the ceiling fans were being installed. I showed him the light switch and 220 outlet that needed work. He did all that I asked and answered a few questions I had. I will most certainly call Peerless if I need more electrical work.

We were extremely pleased with the work done by Peerless Electric from start to finish. We felt they were fair in their estimate and completed the work on time as bid. They were courteous and efficient.

The SP put in two switches and did everything I asked him to do. He had to find the outlet with the button on it. He touched 3 outlets.

Prior to purchasing our home, we had a home inspection performed. The inspection report noted several electrical areas needing corrective action. Since we were previous subscribers to Angie's List, we sought recommendations from her listing. Coincidentally, Angie's List was promoting a coupon to have whole house surge protection installed by Peerless Electric for $175. When I called Peerless, the call was professionally answered and a timely appointment was set. When the electricians arrived (2), I described the additional work desired (see above) and one of the electricians prepared an estimate. Although I authorized the work to proceed, I was disappointed at the higher than expected cost estimate ($780 in addition to the $175 for the surge protector). When the work was completed, I presented a second Angie's List coupon for $15 off the service call which resulted in a balance due of $765. All requested electrical work was performed to my satisfaction. However, after they left, I noted that the floor area below the new garage outlet and surge protector installation was covered in drywall dust and installation debris. The installation instructions for the outside motion light was were not given to me and I had to retrieve them from the trash so I would know the halogen bulb replacement number for future reference. The electrician who corrected the sub-standard wiring below the jetted bath tub was on his back for several hours and is to be commended for his efforts. While I would use Peerless again, I would also get additional estimates from other firms before awarding the work.

The gentleman was on time and very professional. I will use them again for any of my electrical needs.
