Hoosier Fence & Deck

The owner of Hoosier Fence & Deck, Jonny Powell, has been dishonest with me from the beginning. I signed the contract on 10/12/14 with the understanding the job would be done on 10/16/14. Jonny started work on 10/14/14 but then stopped showing up before the work was done. The last time he showed up was on 10/19/14 and now he does not return my calls or texts. Jonny said he’s been in business six years but the work he has completed is very, very poor. It looks this may have been the first time he built a fence. Jonny also did not pull the proper permits with the city so the city put a stop work order on our door. I am also facing fines from our homeowner association because the work has not been completed within 15 days. I ended up having another fence builder come out to assess Jonny’s work. This other builder said what part of the fence, which is less than half completed, will have to be torn down and built again because Jonny’s work is so poor. I also ran into other scenarios with Jonny. For example, Jonny did not have an account with the local home improvement stores so he requested that I pay for materials on my personal credit card. This would have been alright had he provided quality and complete workmanship. . To date, I have paid a total of $4,137 to Jonny.
