I got Juan's name from Angie's List and after looking at several other companies decided to talk to him. He came out on the day and time scheduled to talk to me about the lawn. Made some suggestions. I found that he had also done tree work for one of my neighbors and they had like his work very much. He has always come on the scheduled day and if the weather is bad on the next day. He even rescheduled my regular day so his crew would not be at my house on the day my daughter was marrierd. He came the day before so my lawn would be pretty on the big day.

I contacted Juan on Jan. 23 to set up a time for an estimate. He was able to come on Jan. 25, the time/date I requested and gave me a window of between 9:00a - 10:00a. He arrived at 9:30a and was prepared and polite. I needed to have a great deal of clean up work done and we walked the entire yard together while I pointed out the specifics of the work I wanted to have performed. We are preparing to put the house on the market and need everything to look top notch. After I pointed out what I wanted, Juan spent another 20 mins. walking the yard and making notes and came back to me with a very thorough and detailed estimate. His quote was very fair and he said we could schedule any or all of the work. We decided to do all of the work quoted and called to schedule a date for it the next day. Juan was able to put us down for the following Monday, Jan. 28. He arrived on time with a crew of 3 additional men and performed all of the work within 4 hours. He was able to make some suggestion to us to maintain the appearance and noted where we could add some flowers and/or potted plants to add color. Many landscape companies I have used in the past have been unreliable and overpriced. Working with Juan and his crew was very pleasant and it was refreshing to see someone take such pride in their work. I will be calling in a few weeks to schedule regular mowing/lawn care for the spring while we attempt to sell the house! As a gift to my small church in honor of their upcoming 30th anniversary and mortgage-burning,I had planned to do the work listed above. As it got closer to the date,I realized I wouldn't have the time so I decided to hire someone. I was impressed by several companies on Angie's list and I called three and got estimates for the work. I decided to hire Juan for several reasons: he got back to me promptly, gave me the best quote and because time was a major factor, he was kind enough to work me in even though rain had put him behind schedule. I called on Tuesday and he promised the job would be done Thursday. I was especially impressed when he told me he would walk me through everything on Saturday to make sure the work was done as I had requested. I was so relieved because the church ceremony was to be the next day! I had to come up to the church on Thursday for unrelated business and when I pulled into the parking lot around 2pm, I was so happy! The work had already been done and his crew was cleaning up. The bushes and hedges looked great and I noticed they had even cut down some low tree branches. And they remembered about the sidewalk weeds. Everything looked fantastic and I was very impressed by the quality of work. I am so glad to have discovered AJ"s. Sometimes it is difficult to find companies that do what they say they"ll do and provide high quality work. I am so grateful for being able to get this done for a good price and on such short notice...thank you Juan! I highly recommend this company.

Not impressed. Gave a reasonable grade on responsiveness because they returned my phone call promptly. Scheduled a meet today to get an estimate. Someone showed up 45 minutes late. About 10 minutes after the scheduled time I texted and asked if they were coming, got a message "I am on way." Then I waited another 35 minutes. I mentioned that he was late and got a "yes" with no apology. He quoted a decent price for mowing. I said I was getting another quote Monday and would let them know. At that point he said it was too far to come to my house. This morning, at their request, I texted the address to the person who called me. On the phone I said where I lived and the woman I talked to said that was fine. So they were on notice, and with the address they could have figured out where I was located, and told me I was outside their service area. Another company I called had no problem telling me that. So I wasted an hour on this. It's disappointing because it sounds from the reviews that they provide good service for mowing which is what I needed.

Extremely pleased with the experience utilizing AJ's Lawn. I did get there name from a listing with Angie's List. Juan the owner was very professional and friendly. Fluent in English and did not leave until everything accomplished as agreed. His crew of 3 worked from 10AM til 6 PM accomplishing the tasks. One of his men accidentally turned over a can of used oil on the driveway. He personally, immediately went and purchased the necessary supplies (oil absorb, etc.) and spent another hour removing all traces of the spill, not finishing until 8PM. We have already arranged for estimate to do fence repairs and tree limb cutting for us in the near future due to the favorable experience with Juan. Thank you Angie for narrowing the list of choices for us.

Called and AJ promptly answered and came out same day. I setup to have his team mow my yard every 2 weeks as well as do some hedge and tree trimming. Very punctual and reasonably priced

My friend has been very ill and unable to cut his grass. The grass had gotten so high (almost waist high) the city he lives in was threatening to fine him if he did not get it cut. I decided to help him out and called several lawn care services. Juan called me back immeadiately. I called Juan at 8am, by 10am he was at the house in need. I thought he would just give me an estimate and we would schedule another appointment. Juan showed up on time and with a crew ready to work. The lawn and all of the surrounding areas had been neglected since last fall. This was not an easy job. Juan gave me a a very fair price for a half an acre, overgrown and trash strewn yard. They completed the job in less than an hour and a half. They actually did more than I asked to be done. I hired them to come every two weeks from now onto do my friend's yard.

I found AJ?s through Angie?s list. They were one of several that I called. Most did not respond. However, Juan called me back within 30 minutes of my message. We are in the process of relocating and I needed someone to take over our lawn care as well as trim our bushes. I had a very short time frame to find and select someone and get the work started as we were interviewing realtors in the next couple days.I was also interviewing companies for tree trimming as well as replacing some privacy fencing, as well as taking care of lawn fertilizing. Juan arrived an hour after we talked and I explained what I wanted and why. Within minutes, I realized that I was talking to someone who knew what they were doing, instead of someone who had purchased a truck, trailer and some lawn equipment. I asked if, in addition to basic lawn care, they handled landscaping, as well as tree trimming. I wanted a quote for cleaning out all of our gardens, under shrubs, new mulch, tree trimming. With that, we walked through the yard and he made comments on what was needed and why, with sound logic, focused on making our house look show worthy. He gave me pricing for each of the services I requested, and the pricing was very fair. Generally, the prices were either on par with other bids and in a couple cases, 10% to 15% lower. During our walk through, I asked him about a couple other things to be done, and he gave me better and cheaper alternatives ? not lesser alternatives, but his experience showed he knew what he was doing. When we reviewed the tree trimming, he went through exactly what he thought needed to be done and why, focusing on both the health of the trees and the curb-appeal. After getting slow responses from other contractors and a couple other prices, I selected AJs Lawn Service to do the following: 1. Clean out all gardens ? leaves, weeds, etc 2. Mulch all gardens ? 3 yards of mulch 3. Trim 6 trees ? removing several limbs that were growing too close to the roof of our house or the neighbor?s house, clearing out suckers, trimming branches that weighed down long limbs so that they blocked a view of the house from the street, etc 4. 1st time of the season mow and raking of the lawn, edging & trimming 5. Fertilize lawn 6. Trim all bushes: box hedge around front gardens, 7 crepe myrtles in the front, holly bushes along the front of the house and sides of the house, 16 crepe myrtles in the back 7. Haul away all debris, limbs, etc. Juan is also going to provide me with a quote on doing the fence work as well as a landscape design to add some instant beauty to our front gardens and one of the gardens along our back patio. If his prices are in line with my expectations, I know I?ll choose him because of how great the quality of work he and his team did on the 6 items above. I asked Juan how fast they could get started, explaining to him that we had realtors coming the next day. Originally, I was only asking him to do the above items, except the tree trimming. He told me that they could start in the morning, but he wasn't sure if he would be able to do the gardens until 2 days since he was going to have to juggle his team's schedule. They arrived the next morning, and after watching the quality of work, I was amazed. I made the snap decision to have him also do the tree trimming. He wasn't sure if they would be able to get that done that day, but he would try to remove some of the major branches we discussed to make the house show better from the street. They were here for nearly 5 hours and our yard was transformed. They would have stayed later to finish it all, but a furious storm rolled through with tornado warnings, so work was halted for the day. He doesn't believe it is done. What they've done so far is more than any other company I've worked with would have done - and they would say they were complete. Here were a couple extra things he did for us that I didn't ask for: 1. Clean all the gutters 2. When the storm hit, it started flooding part of the patio and he was worred about new mulch flowing into our pool. He had his team, in a driving rain storm, fix a drainage problem where dirt had built up in the lawn around the pool, scooping up the sod, lowering the dirt level, and replacing the sod, so that the water flowed away from the pool as it was supposed to. He told me he would give me a price to fix the problem permanently in the coming week. I am pleased to say this has been one of the best contractor experiences I have had in several years.
