SARATOGA HOMES LTD

We were first approached by Saratoga homes when looking for a new home to buy, we were new home buyers so were not very experienced. Saratoga had all the right things to say and offered us a house that had already started being built and told us it would be done mid June- which is when we were looking to move in. The house was 145,000 for only 1300 sq feet, and they refused to work with us on the price. So either way it seems like a good deal at the time, so we start the paperwork process for the house. The NEXT DAY we go to the mortgage company and AFTER they have us sign off on everything now our realtor is telling us oh its looking like your house will not be done until mid-late july, BUT we have another house you may like! This house was about $20,000 more and WAY out of our price range, but we still went out to see it. We didn't like the location or the kitchen so we told her we were not interested, but she insisted and continued to call us saying how this house is ready now but the other one may not be done until end of July now. Oh and when we first signed the paperwork we gave a $100 deposit and she told us if we closed we would get it all back, if not we would get $80 back. And every time I would call her to ask about what's going on with the building of our house she would say "let me call you back" and immediately hang-up before I could say everything and then she would never call me back. So being frustrated and hearing from others how Saratoga has screwed them, we decided to look into other builders, we found desert view homes and they were offering way more and for a better price, and were willing to actually work with us to get a monthly payment that we could do, the house is ready to move in and we are closing June 6. So this seemed like a way better idea to us, so we immediately called Saratoga and told her we decided we will not by a house with them, THEN she starts saying oh we can make sure your house is done In June now like you want and we will do anything you want. So that to me is just a complete scam they tried to get us to buy a more expensive house but once we back out NOW the house we want will be ready when we want it? Oh and when I went to pick up our deposit check they only gave me back $43.00... STAY AWAY.
