This company was very professional. the work was great.

Mr. Hoover was very professional and courteous. The job was completed on time with only a few additional costs. He took the time to explain what was needed and why. My new roof cost me $2,000 less than what the roofer I was originally going to hire was charging me.

From the very first day, the workers were professional . They were friendly and really took pride in their work. Robert Phillips kept in touch with me throughout the project to make sure that I was happy with the progress. I always felt my input was welcomed and that they went out of their way to make sure I was happy with the project.

The crew from Phillips Hoover did a great job. Samuel came out before the job started and applied our chosen colors to the outside of the house so we could see what it really would look like on the house compared to the samples in the brochure. They started on the date promised and worked 8am till 430 pm every day until the job was finished. Our house took 5 days to complete. The crew were professional, punctual, and respectful of the property and toward us. House was pressure-washed, cracks in the stucco were filled, then two coats of elastomeric paint were applied. Light fixtures were removed to paint behind them, and then were caulked upon reinstallation. The utility shed was scraped, primed, and painted. My direct business contact was with Robert. He visited the job site several times during the work. He was very friendly and easy to work with. We had other quotes, which were lower (one was "too low"), but PH's quote was in line with my expectations and when it was all said and done I was confident that we had made the right choice.

I was very pleased with them. Their quote was reasonable. Mister Phillips helped. His price was reasonable. He was always very punctual with the quotes. People were always on time exactly as they scheduled and we're very pleased with their work.

David was very responsive. he came to give an estimate the same day we called and one we decided to have the work done, he began that day. He and his crews swarmed on the house and completed the work in 2 days.

It went swimmingly. I was so pleased to meet Robert and his men. They were all delightful. They prep'ed the house, power washed it, painted it. Came back and puttied the windows and painted. Robert came back over and checked the work and had the guys do touch up as needed. They cleaned up after themselves. I am so tickled with the outcome. I will use these guys for everything that they do. I'm really sorry the job is finished. I enjoyed having all of them around.

He was very good at explaining his estimate...unfortunately his bid was much higher than the others, so I chose someone else.

I called. He came out while I was at work after getting my permission and checking about dogs. That was a day or so after the first call. He called be back after looking at the roof and told me I had a problem with my swamp cooler. I was still concerned about the roof and he suggested some contact cement after the new cooler.

They were very knowledgeable, reasonable, and knew what they were doing. I found them on Angie's List and they did good work. The owner was very nice and very responsible.

This older home (still) requires a lot of work, but the kitchen was in especially bad shape. Now it looks (and works) great. Phillips Hoover was prompt about setting up a visit for an estimate, and the pricing on their proposal was in line with costs I had researched for such a project. Still, I figured that price would increase substantially before it was all said and done, because of the problems that always pop up when working on a 100-year-old home. Robert Phillips (who handles the remodeling side of the business), however, did a fantastic job anticipating what would need to be done and working with me to keep costs down wherever we could. The work itself turned out great. I had some notions about how I wanted the kitchen to look and operate, but Robert took our discussions and ran with them. He and his team came up with great solutions for the limited space, and his idea to accentuate the fact that the kitchen had been extended by using a faux brick and wooden beam along the remnants of the old exterior turned an unsightly vestige into the centerpiece of the kitchen -- and now it holds the whole room together. Throughout the job, Phillips Hoover really respected the character of the home, worked hard to incorporate my ideas and offered great suggestions along the way. Robert's engagement in the project and passion for his work has been extraordinary in my experience with contractors. The project took a few weeks longer than originally anticipated for reasons outside Phillips Hoover's control, but Robert and his crew kept me continually updated on the progress and delays and worked hard to make up lost time. I have several other improvements I'd like to make to the house in the coming years, and I will definitely be calling Phillips Hoover to help out.

Well, my experience was, Phillips Hoover has always been positive. They are a little bit pricier but I think it is worth it.

Phillips Hoover Roofing & Construction did a really good job for me, but I did not like that we had to wait three weeks for them to come. In the meantime it rained, we had more damage and had to repaint. But I would rate them an A on all of their categories except for responsiveness. I waited on them because I wanted to use them based on your reviews and I had a lot more damage done while waiting. They customer service and my experience with them was good. I was happy with the experience.

I called for a quote on my roof where some shingles had blown off in the wind. David came out within a couple of days (due to me working and him on a job) and gave me a reasonable estimate. He gave me one just to patch and one to re-roof with better shingles. I went with the patch and called him to let him know. He didnt give me a date to come out, which is my only complaint, however I also didnt ask. He came within a two days and patched the roof. No issues, very professional. Would Recommend.

They were wonderful. They were punctual. They were fast to refund. They were fast to get going on the job. The guys came by 7.15 everyday. They left about 3.30. They cleaned up every day. They cleaned up as the process was going on. I have three dogs and I never had an issue when they removed the old house. The yard actually looks a lot better after they left. They racked everything up. They had magnets to pick up the nails for the safety of the dogs. They are very professional and they know what they are doing. They took their time and they were diligent. I have a good warranty on my roof now. I have really bad winds here, so the wind would pick up a rough shingle or if I have a leak then the insurance will cover it because they are insured & bonded. They also found some problem with the stucco because there were small holes, so I will be calling them again to do the work.

The quote they gave me were more than I expected so they are reworking the plans to see if they can bring it down and rearrange my construction plans to bring the cost down. So, they are trying to work with me. Everything is great except time wise, I feel like its taking longer than I would like it too.

Robert Phillips and David Hoover are Simply the Best as the song goes! Robert Phillips handles the building and remodeling and David Hoover does the roofing and windows. These guys do EXCELLENT work and they are extremely reliable and ethical. In 2010, I first hired David Hoover to put a new roof on my rental property in El Paso. You can check out the review I wrote for him in Oct of 2010. It is important that I point out that I live in La Jolla, California and have no family in El Paso; Keep in mind that the work I describe here was done COMPLETELY UNSUPERVISED! In Aug of 2012, my tenants were moving out so I talked to Robert Phillips about putting in floors when it became vacant. I also asked him to "be my eyes" and tell me what else he thought needed to be done. (I had visited El Paso in June so I had an idea.) Not only did he accommodate me, he even went to the property to get the keys from the tenants and dealt with them personally to help me with the move out. He was patient, generous with his time, and advised me conservatively by only suggesting that the interior be painted as well. I'm not much of an interior decorator. I am a professional singer and focus on entertaining people and drafting ironclad contracts for my performances. I asked Robert to pick out the carpet, the tiles, and the paint. He was wonderful about it. He has impeccable taste, by the way, and matched everything together beautifully. They did all the work completely unsupervised and went the extra mile for me to make sure everything turned out perfect. They even arranged for the house to be cleaned and the trash that my former tenants left behind to be hauled away, as well as cleaned up the yard for me. Robert sent me pictures of the work and I was very pleased. These guys are simply the best, better than all the rest...

David and Robert worked in tandem with their crews and once again, they did a beautiful job. David took care to do the installation correctly and Robert worked hard to blend the paint and stucco so as to make the windows look as if the house was built that way originally. In the middle of the work, however, it was discovered that the electrical box needed to be replaced for safety reasons, so Robert arranged for an electrician to do the work and connected me directly with the contractor, Gary Hodges. As a result, Robert did not collect a fee for the electrical. The work was done efficiently and with the same level of quality expected. Birds of a feather do indeed flock together. When I visited the property last week, I was thrilled with what I found! Apparently, Robert sent his A team out a couple of days earlier to clean the windows a second time and spiff up the house in anticipation of my arrival two days later. I don't know about you, but I have never found a contractor I could trust to work unsupervised without taking advantage. My reviews may read as a love fest for Phillips and Hoover, but I swear on a stack of Holy Bibles; I did not know these guys from Adam when I first hired them back in 2010 so it's not like I'm a relative or on commission. Everything I?ve written is the truth. These men have been a Godsend. They are blessed to be a blessing! Phillips and Hoover are the best thing since pockets! Hire them. I promise; you will be so glad you did!

I called and spoke with both David and Robert. Was promised would come out to our office and give quote. They never showed to give us a quote. I did call them several years earlier and they gave us a quote at that time. Was very disappointed.

I called Phillips Hoover Construction after identifying them as a good company from Angie's List. Mr. Hoover came out promptly and took measurements on the roof. He called his associate who does the painting and repairs on woodwork and he also came out to measure and decide what needed to be done. Within 2 or 3 days, I had their estimates in hand, compared with another estimate I had gotten, and decided to go with Phillips Hoover. About 2 weeks later the work began and it took about 7-8 days to complete. There was the expected hammerings, scrapings, etc. but the workers were very good, polite, and clean. Mr. Hoover supervised the work personally as much as possible and I never had any trouble contacting him or asking questions or telling him my concerns (which were few, if any). When the work was all done, the crew cleaned up thoroughly and even raked out my gravel yard where their walking had roughed it up a bit. I climbed up on the roof myself and was very pleased with everything. I was very pleased with everything and will definitely call Phillips Hoover again for some other projects.

It went well. Removed old shingles, replaced some plywood, installed new wind turbines,installed new shingle roof.

I had the kitchen and bathroom projects running simultaneously and they were both complete within 5 weeks, once the cabinets were built. Robert had hoped to complete the kitchen in a week or 10 days, but a delay in the delivery of the countertop prevented that. They removed the old cabinets and put in the new ones in a single day. Then we waited for the countertop. While we waited, they modified the plumbing, painted the walls and trim, and tiled the backsplash. Once the countertops were installed, the sink and appliances were put in within a couple of days and we were done. Very smooth! Meanwhile they worked on the bathroom project. The demolition was completed in a day and then the reconstruction began (tasks listed above). We ran into a delay with the tile supplier but that just set us back about a week. This whole project was managed very professionally and conscientiously. Every task was completed with close attention to every detail. The work sites were clean at the end of every day and all of the removed materials (tiles, appliances, walls, etc) were hauled off that day. No piles of debris anywhere at any time. They covered my wood floors to prevent damage from foot traffic and cleaned the carpet when a drop cloth failed to prevent some soiling. Paint colors were tested before whole walls were painted which was VERY nice because I missed a couple of times. The subcontractors all did quality work and all of the materials were of excellent quality as well. A couple of weeks after the kitchen was complete, Robert asked if any problems had arisen after using the appliances and cabinets for a while. I mentioned that I wished that I asked for one more shelf in the pantry because there seemed to be unused space, so he asked the cabinet maker to make a modification at no extra cost. Now it's perfect!

Did a great and was completed in a timely fashion.

From start to finish, this was a very positive, even pleasant, experience. Everything about this company is professional, from the design phase to the final clean up.

Got referred through Angieslist and gave Mr. Hoover a call. He was able to come out a few days later and took his time pointing out and explaining what he would do. Also took a lot of extra time to answer questions about future roof-related projects. Mr. Hoover is incredibly professional. He gave me a call a couple of days after doing the estimate and asked if it would be ok if his employees came out and made the repairs. By the time I got home from work the job was done and I haven't had any issues with the leak since. Mr. Hoover will be the first contractor I call whenever I need anything done in the future.
