It went very well. Joel and his crew were very professional. Their painting, removal and replacement of paintings, installation of new baseboards, etc. was flawless.

I was very disappointed with them. They were overpriced and were difficult to get hold of. I wouldn't call them or recommend them to any of my friends. They gave me a high price. I had two other estimates. There was a lot of damage than I originally thought. Anything, they would have done, would have been just cosmetic and wouldn't have taken care of the problem.

The job and price were fine, the only thing that bothered me was their sloppiness. paint drops not clean up.

Great quality. I was very happy with his work and the price was fair. Could have it done for less. Could have had it done for more. It was a fair bid and great quality. He did not provide a written quote or a receipt for the work. I didn't request it because it was a small enough job, but he didn't offer it either. Joel did not actually do the work himself, but had efficient workers who were polite. He did the bid and checked the work and did a final walk through with me. To be extra picky, the clean up after the job wasn't perfect. A few, small drops of calking or paint on the driveway where the prepwork was done and little flakes of damaged wood in the grass that fell out when replacing damaged fascia. Again, that is being extra picky and I'm sure had I noticed it at the walk through, he would have cleaned it up. Wasn't a big deal. I think Joel provides above average quality of work from what I have paid for in the past in El Paso. But prices are reasonable. I'm sure I will be using him again.

On time ,job well done No problems

Punctual, pleasant; did all the work himself. The quality of work lacked a little since I had to ask him to also paint the moulding in the bathroom. It was just a small guest bathroom and it was not a good job. He left a hole and just painted over it. Otherwise it was a decent job. He had built a mantel earlier and did an excellent job. He hung bamboo shades for me and they were perfect.

The caulking was alright, not the best.

It went well. They were nice, polite and very helpful.

He was very clean. He was very forthright about what to do and what not to do. Once he accepted the job, he was on time all the time.

I called the company and talked to the owner who said he would be over the next day to give me an estimate. Unfortunately, he forgot about the appointment and I had to call him a second time to set it up again. He apologized profusely. He gave me a quote which I found reasonable and told me when the painters would be returning. The painters came on time and finished all of the work. I didn't notice any problems until after they left. There were a couple of areas that were and quot;overpaintedand quot; ie got a little carried away with the paintbrush and a drip of stain on my carpet. I didn't see these at first because I could not go out on the wet deck to check all the way around. I called the owner who came back a couple of days later and fixed everything perfectly. He was even able to get the stain out of my carpet. He already knew about the stain on my walls because his painters had told him there was some touchup to do but the deck was wet when they left. Wish they had told me. I did not have make any payment until the entire job was done and I was satisfied. You could not tell where the damage had been in the ceiling, my front door looked brand new and my deck looked perfect. I would use them again and just ask before the workers left if there was anything they had to come back and finish up.

i called and he came right out the same day. gave me an estimate.he was not the less expensive but i was convinced he was the most ethical and professional.he did the job as promised on time and on budget.as well he noticed so other repairs that needed to be done and agreeded to do those for me as well while there. very pleased with his work and i am going to call him again tonight for a different job!.

John did not do any repairs other than to take the pipe off and then putting it back on, when he stated it wasn't the pipe but the tree roots causing the backup problem. See full story above.

I had trouble getting an estimate from J and L Remodeling so I went with another company.

Mr. John Locke was the owner. I have a rental property and I use them to do a bunch of handyman work and things like that. It is very difficult to find the people in El Paso that will show up and do the work when they say that they are going to. I think that it is the nature of El Paso. They are on some other time and when I lived there I learnt that 'Manana' does not mean tomorrow but it means sometime in the future. I use them because their timeliness is good and their price is fair. In that area speaking English is also a factor for me as to why I use them because some of the contractors there don't speak even a word of English. I was going to use him last week but he was in Florida as his father had just passed away.

My experience with Jand L Remodeling Company was not good. It was an expensive work because I had a lot walls that needed work. There was just one person who was the whole company. He came out when he was supposed to. However, he was kind of dismissive of the whole situation. I don't know if he treated me so because I was a woman. It really put me off. I would never use them again.

He went way over budget. I bought all the materials and $7000 was his price for the labor. It was supposed to take 7-10 days and it took 30 days because he was working other jobs. Sometimes they would leave at noon and sometimes they would be gone for two or three days. My recommendation is to get the estimate in writing. The quality is good.

He came our right away after i called; investigated what needed to be done; pointed out a couple of other small problems i did not recognize that needed to be repaired also. He gave me an estimate and time when he could begin. He started right on time and actually finished before i expected. I was very pleased with his work and the followup conversation we had after completion.

He came the same day I called, he checked what the problems were and then gave me an idea of how much it could be, according to how it looked (without opening to really find out what the problem was), he said, once he started opening and looking, then he will know for sure. Then, he gave a day available for him to come back and do the work. He did come back when he said, (called before, very important) fixed everything and his quote was accurate. He used material I had and some he had, and didn't charged a lot for his material, so it was like getting help from a neighbor or a relative, that was good.

We've lived in El Paso for over forty years and have had a lot of work done on our house. We never seemed to find a good general contractor that would do what he said he would do when he said he'd do it. J and L Remodeling (and Joel Loya) were by for the best we've ever had. Joel is very professional, answers his calls, arrives when he says he will, and is very easy to work with. He far exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend him and I will definitely use him in the future.

I actually asked them to give me a repair, but they wanted to do a replacement. That goes for whoever you call. They went up on the roof to check it out. I thought the price was a little high. They were over here on time.

He is very reliable and reasonable.

He's wonderful and really good. First of all, his work ethic was over the top. I deal with vendors all the time and this guy was here when he said he would be, he worked the entire time in the blistering heat, he was quiet as a mouse and clean as your Aunt Matilda. There wasn't a drop of paint anywhere other than on this house. He was meticulous in his preparation and the laying of his drop cloths. He had to take light fixtures down, too and he just did a really good job. I didn't even have a drop of paint on any of my landscaping rocks, it's unbelievable - I don't know how he did that. It's gorgeous to boot. They are both great, but Joel was really, really excellent. I don't know if I've ever worked with someone as excellent. We have plans to hire him again.

They did not do any work. They would not directly answer my questions.

1st. time was perfect. The 2nd. time I hired him he was coming off surgery. Project took longer than expected and I was charged accordingly. The last days he complained how it was a lot of work and he was hurting. Expect to move all the furniture yourself and put it back. Wish he'd painted the molding before installing and had used a nail gun instead of a hammer . I suggested the nail gun and he chose to use a hammer.

The work done by them was fine. They have painted a few rooms so far. I am getting only 1 room painted at a time. They were prompt, professional and clean.
