The work was done in a timely, economical, professional manner. The installers were unobtrusive, polite and efficient -- not to mention maintaining a tidy work site. The price for the total install was more than competitive for this area in all the options explored before we settled on the final configuration. Management was responsive in providing estimates, oversight over the install, and followup afterward. Equipment works great and has provided a cool, comfortable environment during a long, hot summer. I can't say enough good things about these folks and the job. Highly recommended based on my experience.

What a difference a year makes. I called Gateway to have my house heater closed down for the summer and have my swamp cooler turned on. The technician arrived and did the work. He discovered that the water pump - which had been replaced just two years ago, was again burnt out. Instead of advising me first, he replaced the pump and didn't inform me until he handed me the bill. He also told me that the entire unit really needed to be re-placed: that and quot;no one uses this model of swamp cooler anymore.and quot; Already unhappy about not being asked about replacing the pump, I asked the technician to turn around and counted out six houses on my street easily in view of my front door that had the same model of cooler as I have and informed him that I didn't appreciate the hard sell or his lack of consultation before replacing the pump. On the positive side, the cooler worked perfectly - for about two days. By the third day after the service, the cooler was blowing WARM air into the house. I spoke to a friend who agreed to take a look. The minute he opened the cooler, he discovered the problem. The water pump - the same one that had just been replaced less than a week ago - had not been properly secured. When turned on, the motion of the pump caused it to move, lodging it under the float that regulates the water level. With the float stuck, water was not filling the unit or being pumped into the cooling pads, leaving the pump running without pumping water (thus stressing it which would have burned it out AGAIN) and preventing the pads from being dampened to produce the cold air required to cool the house. It took my friend - who is NOT an HVAC professional - less than one minute to diagnose the problem and less than ten to actually fix it. And yet an HVAC professional, who had just replaced a less-than-two-year-old part, either failed to notice that said part wasn't secured or simply failed to secure it properly. Now, my swamp cooler has been working perfectly for a month and better than it has worked for years - because my friend simply bolted the pump into place properly. I am VERY disappointed to say that I won't be calling Gateway again for service. I was already unhappy at the lack of consultation regarding replacing the pump. But if the cooler had been properly serviced and the pump properly secured the last time, the pump wouldn't have burned out in the first place. I was annoyed at the hard-sell attempt and the, in my opinion, blatant dishonesty of the technician. But learning that the pump he had replaced STILL wan't properly secured was the third strike. There is NO excuse I can think of for a supposed professional to miss something so obvious and potentially costly.

They were wonderful. I cannot say enough good things about them. They were great. It was a big job. I got the standard warranty on the equipment. I couldn't get the air to come on when they installed it. It was lunch time when I called Gateway Air Conditioning and they probably called back within 10 minutes. The lady talked me through on what was going on. She said she was going to send somebody out. After I talked to her there really wasn't any problem so I called her back. I had already paid them everything. They were nice. They were prompt. They came when they said they would come. When they first started they worked for a day and half. They told me they will not be coming back the next day. They then came back when they said they would come back. They finished if not on time, they may have finished early. It was more convenient for me. They came on Friday and they took the measurements. They came back on Monday and started taking things out. They said that they will be here on Thursday. They were quick and it was a huge job. They came and they worked all day. They cleaned everything up when they left. They were very responsive. I went to the other air conditioning company and their price was at least $42,000. My husband may also have Gateway Air Conditioning come out and do his parents house. I would use them again.

I could not be happier with my experience with Gateway AC. They arrived when promised and finished the job quickly and professionally. They examined the stand on which our evaporative cooler sits and saw that it didn't need to be replaced or repaired, just adjusted. Their honest professionalism saved us a great deal over the estimated costs by not charging us for unnecessary parts or time used. We immediate noticed improved performance in our cooler for a lot less than we had originally thought we might have to pay. I highly recommend Gateway AC.
