Description of Work: replaced panel to a modern one and added sensors. took over monitoring

Description of Work: Removed old ADT alarm system and installed new system with new touch screen panels, door & window sensors, movement detectors, and smoke alarms.

Description of Work: Checked existing alarm system. Repaired broken sensors. Installed new sensors, glass break sensors. Installed radio communicator to replace dial up system. They were able to save me money by using existing equipment. Spent lots of time programming motion detectors so that my cat would not set off the system.

Description of Work: I am 66 yrs old and just moved to El Paso alone. I was very overwhelmed so when their salesperson came with the contract, which was 4 pages long, I was talking and signing at the same time and this person did not tell me what the terms were upfront like when you buy a car, they ask you how long you want to finance. I thought it was for one year and I did not read all the small print on 4 pages. The term of five years was on the last page so I missed it. I am now stuck with having to have their service for 5 years. As soon as I found out they were almost $40.00 per month, I wrote them a letter alerting them that I am on a fixed income and will be cancelling after the first year is completed. That's when I found out about the five year term. They were unwilling to let me out and said they would reduce it to two years if I paid them another $650. I think it should be illegal for companies to be able to lock you into something without telling you up front about this long term. I will be 71 when this contract ends or maybe dead. The money is much more important to this local company than happy customers so I can see why they have to resort to their contracts. I've always just stayed with other security companies in the past because I liked them and they were reasonable. ADT will give you a full refund within 6 months if you are not happy, but not these guys. I hope others will be forewarned about CFI and will go to another one that is more reputable.

Description of Work: Called company to get a quote on residential alarm installation and monitoring. Quote was for installation of a three bedroom ranch style house in West El Paso that did not have an existing system. Quote was for a four year agreement and a base install price of 95.00 that included 1 keypad, 1 control panel, 1 siren, 1 battery backup, 1 motion sensor, and 3 door sensors. Additional charges for 2.00 for an additional door sensor, 13.50 each for additional 4 motion sensors, 27.60 for additional glass break sensor and 150.00 for a cellular GSM radio unit. Monthly monitoring was 29.95 per month. Equipment was a combination wired and wireless system using Honeywell/Ademco products. System installation charges and El Paso city alarm permit of 23.00 needed to be paid upfront upon contract signature. Maintenance of system is included as long as you stay a CFI Security customer as they replace batteries in sensors as needed without additional cost or trip charge.
