Bedrock Landscaping & Concrete

Mr. Ruben Astorga came to my house on time for a quote to install a sprinkler system for my lawn. He and his crew worked and had system installed in two days. He and I talked about the type of sprinkler heads to install and I was very satisfied with the intended plan. He showed me the controlled panel and how to program it for my times and watering days. Today I manually did the zones. Tommorrow will be the first day for the programming to start working. All though he showed me how to adjust the sprinkler coverage patterns, I believe I will have to adjusts the sprays distances on some of the heads to keep them from spraying my parked cars, lol. I find the coverages to be terrific overall. I would recommend this company to anyone needing this type of service. The cost was within my expectations.

Terrible work. If looking for landscaping or concrete work, look elsewhere. Hired Jacob to do a built in BBQ grill and three bars with concrete counter tops. Firstly, Jacob assured it would take him seven days to complete job. It took him 27 days to complete. Work was inferior and very sloppy. Did not use rebar as stated in contract for concrete counter tops and concrete counter tops are sagging and not level. We had him do them over, and again he did not use rebar and results were the same. Have cracks all over counter tops. We asked him to stone veneer around grill and all columns. He used different size veneer for 1 of the 6 columns. When he went to acid stain the counter tops, he got acid on our patio floor and now we have a white stain on our patio floor. He then proceeded to glaze and seal all concrete and stone veneers but did not cover my $2000 brand new grill and got sealer overspray all over my stainless steel grill. He also got over spray on my grass all along the entire patio and burned my grass. Weather proof cover for electrical outlet was installed upside down. Did not sweep concrete before applying sealer and we now have bits of concrete and stone veneer stuck to our floor. Very sloppy work. Would give him zero stars if possible. Stay away from this contractor.

I called twice to set up an appointment for and estimate and he never came or called me to let me know he was not coming. That is very unprofessional. Very disappointed and will not call again. Norma

Jacob and his team are professional, courteous, and provide excellent work & customer service. Bedrock has done 3 landscaping projects for us: the first was a large stamped concrete patio, the second a concrete border with fire pit area and artificial turf area, and the third the rocking of our front yard side areas. He was very patient with me while I ensured the forms met my exacting specifications and he explained how & why we should do certain things a certain way. His input ensured that our projects were a complete success. I highly recommend this company to friends and family!

Jacob redid our front and back landscaping with sprinkler system. He did a great job and worked quickly and efficiently. We will hire again.

Mr. Astorga and his crew were very professional and took care to clean up after the job was done. The concrete is very level and the control joints are straight. I am very impressed with the quality of work this company provided.

He asked for half of the money down, which was $725. After I paid him the money, he scheduled an appointment to come do the work. He never showed up. I called him and he had an excuse as to why he didn't come. This has happened twice now. I've had to call him several times. I've let him know I want my money back, but still haven't gotten it.

Highly recommend! They we clean and professional. He estimated the job to take 3 weeks and he was able to have everything done in two. Just 3 days before Thanksgiving. If you are looking for a professional landscaper, you can't go wrong with Bedrock Landscaping.

Very fast and very affordable. Much cheaper than other estimates I got for the same job. And he did very high quality work.

Jacob Astorga AKA Ruben J. Astorga, and his 4 man "crew" are not qualified for the job he proposed for our project. He uses random/different men to work for him, different faces on different days... very inconsistent with workers and the work. He states in his Angie's list description that he "doesn't take on projects that he has no knowledge of" but yet admitted to us, after telling us in the beginning otherwise, that HE AND HIS MEN HAVE NEVER DONE THE TYPE OF WORK HE PROPOSED TO US AND THEY ARE NOT QUALIFIED to do the type of work he sold! Jacob admitted his workmanship was poor and pleaded with us not to fire him or to lose faith in him and promised to have the work fixed and finished by professionals. ITS BEEN 3 MONTHS since he started and he has not completed a single part of our project!! He no longer returns our phone calls/texts and has avoided us completely. DON'T LET THIS MAN"S LIKEABLE PERSONALITY FOOL YOU...THIS MAN IS A CON ARTIST AND WILL GIVE YOU MANY EXCUSES AND SOB STORIES IN AN ATTEMPT FOR YOU TO TAKE PITTY ON HIM! WE PAID HIM 90% OF THE CONTRACT AND HE HAS NEVER RETURNED. WE CALLED/TEXTED HIM AND HE LIED TO US, MADE PROMISES TO CALL BACK & NEVER DID, GAVE EVERY EXCUSE IN THE BOOK, AND EVENTUALLY BLEW US OFF COMPLETELY. ADDITIONALLY, AFTER OUR EXPERIENCE WITH BEDROCK, OUR RESEARCH REVEALED JACOB ASTORGA HAS AN EXTENSIVE CRIMINAL BACKGROUND! IT WILL COST US AN ADDITIONAL $4K TO RE-DO AND FIX THE MESS HE LEFT US WITH. We have given him chance after chance to do right and complete the work. He took our hard earned money and has chosen not to honor his contractual obligation and complete the work. He has taken advantage of our kindness...BEWARE OF JACOB ASTORGA AND BEDROCK LANDSCAPING!!!

My experience with Jacob ( Bedrock Landscaping Owner) was very satisfying! Bedrock Landscaping & Concrete provided the most innovative and artistic landscaping work l have seen in quiet a while. I provided Jacob with a budget I wanted to stay inn "$5,500" . I explained to Jacob how and what I was going for. Jacob had genuine and creative ideas to add to my suggestions. Jacobs suggestios made everything much easier for me to comprehend the entire project. Jacob not only explained materials but showed me plenty of samples for cultural stone and textures for my stamped concrete. I also had the opportunity to go with Jacob to our local nursery to select my healthy shrubs and palm trees. Jacob also suggested we acid stain our grey concrete area that came out stunning in color to contrast our entire landscape. My drip Irrigation system is the cherry topper factor to my landscape. Impressed with his knowledge and passion of all landscaping details as well as his punctuality and professional attitude. I must say i truly fell in love with landscaping.

Started with a detailed discussion about what we wanted the yard to look like and Jacob Astorga, Owner of Bedrock, made a few suggestions. We agreed upon what was to be accomplished, a contract was written, about a 40% deposit was made and the work started and continued starting at 7:00 a.m. Monday through Friday until completed. Work included clearing all the current landscaping and removing several bushes, all of which was hauled away upon removal. Jacob offered sample materials for us to select the colors desired for all areas of the work to be performed, selections were made and, as needed, materials were brought on site for the work to be able to proceed smoothly. The work performed: · The yard was cleared and leveled. All materials and all bushes that were removed were hauled away. · The yard was leveled and shaped for the work to be performed. Most of this effort being done by or supervised by Javier, the concrete and brickwork master. · Frameworks for the brick work and sidewalk concrete work were built. Low energy lights were added to each step for the walkway to the house. Materials for the next phase were delivered. · Dividers, consisting of grey block and mortar mix, were built at the sidewalk on both sides of the driveway and the walkway to the house, across the middle of the yard, in several curves, to include around a planter and again on both sides of the driveway. Next dividers were built around all established trees in large circles about eighteen inches from the trunks. Finally a divider was built across the upper part of the yard where planters would be established. · After the dividers were built across the middle part of the yard and waiting until the next workday to allow the concrete to cure, the dirt was re-arranged to flow to the divider from higher in the yard. · Water lines were placed to connect to existing lines for existing trees and bushes and established for new bushes. Pipe was placed for low energy light cables and posts were placed for the fixtures within the area to be concreted. · Brick in large rectangular boxes between the sidewalk and street were broken up and cleared. Old bushes and weeds in six diamond shaped areas were also cleared and prepared for concrete. · Concrete was delivered, poured, spread, leveled and stamped. The concrete was colored brick red and the stamping added a blue highlight. Concrete and stamping areas included the lower portion of the yard in all three areas, the sidewalk with two steps to the house and the large boxes between the sidewalk and street. Last the six smaller diamond shaped areas between the sidewalk and street were covered with the red concrete. All was left to cure overnight. · Bedrock facings were concreted to all the dividers and a bullnose brick topping was added to all the dividers. The divider lowest in the yard had bedrock attached to the street side and home side while all other dividers had only the one exposed side covered in facings. · After frameworks were removed, bricks were laid on both sides of the sidewalk, street to house, and both sides of the driveway. · Low energy lights were placed where desired, linked via the low energy cables and connected to low energy transformers. Upper part of the yard was covered with a thick black plastic sheeting material in preparation for the delivery of the shad to cover those areas. · Shad was delivered, placed in the street in front of the house and was quickly moved to the three areas to be covered by shad and after placement was leveled. · During the work the areas were continually being kept free of debris and at this point a final sweeping of the stamped concrete was accomplished, a high pressure steam cleaner was brought in to clean the stamped concrete and brick work and a final coating of a concrete sealer was added. · All materials were cleared from the side driveway which had been used as a staging area and the project was complete. The end result is better than expected, both my spouse and I are elated with the final results. Prior to the work being performed, estimates were obtained from several companies and each had a different perspective as to how they would prepare and present our yard. We selected Bedrock because of the quality of the previous work performed and the promise of a final appearance. We are delighted with the results!

He was recommended by a neighbor. I contacted him and he came out promptly and gave me an estimate saying the project would take one week. He showed me credentials as City of El Paso employee who did this kind of work full time. I gave him an advance for materials and he promised to go to work. He called about two weeks later saying he was almost finished and would need another day but needed additional funds to complete the project. I wired him the funds and about two weeks later he called and said he needed the balance of the payment and he would finish in a couple of hours the next day. After 6 weeks and an ugly confrontation, he finally finished the work/abandoned the project.
