+ -1 moreVery sloppy; paint all over patio and sidewalks. Doesn't pay attention to detail and always wants to be paid before the work is done. In the end, he beat me out of $300.00 and didn't finish the job on top of that.

+ -1 moreBesides cashing the check without our authorization, when we talked to Mr. Alvarez about starting the job he kept raising the price every time we talked to him and also kept raising his voice, because every time we brought up the $500 dollars we gave him he got very rude, specially to my wife. After a few calls, we told him that we didn't wanted to do the job with him and asked for our $500 dollars back but he said that he wasn't going to return that money and added, "if you want your money, you can call my lawyer"!!! So basically he stole $500 dollars from us!!!
Description of Work: On February 8, 2015, Mr. Gabriel Alvarez from ALVAREZ PAINTING AND ROOFING, came to our house and gave us a quote for changing the shingles in our roof for $4000 dollars. He asked for a $500 dollar deposit and we agreed to give him a check as long as he didn't cash it until we told him because we were still talking to the insurance company to get more money, and he agreed to that. After that, he called us almost every day asking when he was going to be able to cash the check and we told him that until we got a response back from the insurance company. In each call he made you can tell that was getting mad and in a few of the calls he was very rude to my wife. After we told him that we didn't wanted him to cash the check for at least another week he went ahead and cashed it without our consent.
