The two men tightened all of the loose connections and in fact also checked all of the breakers in the house too and tightened all of them also. Everything is working great. This is my second time to use Alpine Electric and I will use them again . They are going to give me an estimate for replacing my stab lock style of breakers.
Description of Work: My power went out for the whole house on a Sunday afternoon and I thought it might be the main breaker box. I was able to get the power up after leaving it off for a little while and powering off the appliances. I contacted Alpine Electric and they sent two men early Monday to check the Problem. It turned out there were several very loose wires in the box and some of the breakers were loose also.

Outstanding company, all communications were excellent. The electricians arrived on schedule. The were very knowledgeable and courteous. They traced the open circuit to the source and made the repairs. The electricians were total professionals and kept me informed throughout their diagnostics of finding the open circuit. They spoke to me in layman's terms so I could understand what they were doing. One of the electricians even reminded me that I could use the 5% discount coupon from Angie's List. This was my first time using a company from Angie's List, I am impressed and pleased. The price was reasonable and the electricians were excellent job. I definitely will use Alpine Electric again and recommend them to others. Happy camper. Thanks Alpine Electric & thank you Angie (It works)

These guys were amazing. They came by just an hour after I called them, immediately found the problem, and fixed it within 20 minutes. They even replaced several outlets for me that I had planned on doing myself later that day. I would call them in a heartbeat if I ever need them again.

I needed two electrical outlets wired and installed in the ceiling of my garage in preparation for installation of automatic garage doors openers. I contacted Alpine Electric and spoke with a very friendly and knowledgeable individual who set me up with an appointment that worked well for me. The morning of the appointment, I received a call from the office to let me know the installers were enroute. This was helpful as it gave me time to move my vehicles out of the garage and make a few last minute "clean-ups" so they would have an unobstructed work area. The installers arrived right on the scheduled time and introduced themselves (I, unfortunately, forgot their names). We spent a few minutes discussing what I needed, and they explained to me how they would go about the doing the job. They made a quick inspection and gave me a very reasonable estimate on the work to be done. Upon my approval of the estimate, they got right to work. They had all the right equipment, they knew exactly what they were doing, and everything was completed to my total satisfaction. After they finished, they made sure the area was cleaned up, and presented me with a bill that came in a few dollars under the estimate. I am extremely happy with the job that was done, and I would definitely recommend Alpine Electric.

Not good. Got the feeling that this is not the type of work they perform or that the job was too small.
Description of Work: Based on this sites recommendation I contacted this company twice. I wanted to get some new wiring done in my house and outside in the yard. Both times they never provided an estimate for when the estimator would arrive. The first time after waiting several hours I contacted them again to cancel the appointment since I wasted most of my day off waiting. My wife was able to contact them on a later date and they contacted her about 30 minutes prior to the visit to see if she was available. After about 15 minutes of assessment he left. 2 days later he came back with an estimate about twice what I expected. Never heard back from them again.

I'm surprised at the review by (deleted member name), When he called ,he should have mentioned that he was taking day off to wait on estimator, dispatch has no record of him saying that. We have one estimator doing estimates throughout the city. Estimator showed up like (deleted member name) said and met his wife who was a very nice lady. She told us about the work her husband needed and we even helped her get a bird out of her house that flew in there before we arrived. The work he wanted was quite extensive, 12 duplex receptacles with two dedicated circuits approximately 40 ft of conduit away from existing panel, also he wanted to add more receptacles outside by fountain . We did not call him back after providing estimate because we did know he wanted us to do so. Sometimes we do call after providing estimate for follow up but sometimes work load does not permit it.

I contacted Alpine Electric for an estimate and ended up having to work late so I couldn't meet the gentleman assigned to make the estimate. Then I got busy and wasn't able to call back to reschedule, but the gentleman was very dilligent and believe it or not, he actually called me back. I told him over the phone that I needed to have an electrician install a ceiling fan and two new wired smoke alarms. He indicated over the phone this would not be an expensive job. He so impressed me with his conscientiousness that I decided then and there to make an appointment to have them do the work. Two gentleman arrived right on time and while one installed the smoke alarms, the other began taking down the old light fixture and putting together the ceiling fan. By the time, he was ready to install the ceiling fan, the smoke alarms had been installed and the two men completed the ceiling fan installation together. The ceiling fan and smoke alarms work perfectly. The work was done quickly, cleanly and cost just $97.50. I'm planning to install two more ceiling fans soon and plan to hire them again! Great work!
Description of Work: The services performed were installation of a ceiling fan in my living room and installation of two wired smoke alarms.

The crew arrive don time and were niec guys. However they didn't get done what I believed we were paying for. They told us we had a wiring short in the light over the porch. Did the same thing for the lights over the garage. They then "fixed"the short over the garage so that the flood lights stayed on all the time. They then told my husband he would have to put in a light switch if he wanted to be able to turn off the lights. Now why would I pay Alpine if my husband has to install the switch? As for the porch light, my husband spent his Saturday installing a new porrch light. I'm still not sure what we paid $`140.00 for since we didn't get a receipt and my husband had to finish the job.
Description of Work: I called Alpine to help fix the front porch light which we believed to have a short and to fix a short that was also occuring with the lights above our garage.

We at Alpine Electric are well aware of how important a good reputation is with the public regarding the electrical services we provide. We work hard at making sure we do good business with our clients, and if our electricians make a mistake, all the owner has to do is call us and we will work just as hard to make it right. We want to keep our good reputation we’ve enjoyed with our customers for the last 16 years. It is discouraging to see a bad review regarding our company but it is more confusing when it comes from a person whom we did not speak with during our work at the residence. It is very obvious to us the lack of communication between Member and Member on this matter. There were no shorts in the Members home and we didn’t mention the word short to Member. We trouble shooted no power to the front pendant porch light, it was very old and needed to be replaced. Wiring through chain was bridled and very old, it had come apart at socket. Mr. Members did not have a replacement fixture and mentioned to us to identify the neutral wire and hot wires so when he gets a new fixture, he would install it himself (wiring is the cloth type at ceiling j-box and therefore, insulation same color, 80yr. old home). The garage lights she mentions consisted of a motion sensor light with two spot lights that has not had power for a long time as per Member. The problem with this motion sensor light is that power came from main house, underground and over to a detached garage in back of main house. We traced a conduit from this sensor light to several junction boxes and eventually to the conduit that went underground from detached building, to somewhere in the main house. We could not find where inside the home this underground conduit went. We asked Mr. Member if there was a switch inside home to control this light and he said no. The wires on this sensor light j-box had no power in them and we suspected conduit collapsed underground or wires were cut at some point. We mentioned to him that we could get power from panel inside storage building, and feed sensor light from there. He asked for an estimate to do that and as the electrician was looking into the matter, he discovered a live junction box we could tap from for power to another junction box that was in same dead circuit as motion light, we could disconnect dead wires on this circuit and reuse them in new conduit to feed sensor light. We mentioned the idea to Member and since it was only ten feet of conduit he told us to do it right there and then. After we finished with the work, Member seemed happy to see the light on and working. This light is a motion sensor light and the photocell on it was not working because the light stayed on all the time. This light did not have a switch anywhere which is not rare for security sensor lights because most people don’t want someone to turn switch off. We asked if he wanted us to install a light there and he said no he did not have one and would buy one and install it himself. He asked our electrician where he could turn power off to make it safe during the replacement and we told him where. After we cleaned, picked up and got paid for two hrs. at this residence and were on our way to our commercial van is when Member asked the electrician if it was possible to put a switch for this sensor light and the electrician replied yes and mentioned to him regarding one of the junction boxes where we installed the new conduit to liven the circuit. During the time we were there, we did not sense that Member was displeased with our time, our work or unsatisfied with the information we provided to solve the mystery of the two non working lights. His concern was that we would spend the least amount of time at his home, since he was paying us by the hr. to troubleshoot and solve the electrical issues as quickly as possible. We understand this from our customers and we felt that all we did was to Member's satisfaction. We did run out of invoices and during our payment, we mentioned to Member that a receipt for his Check payment would be sent by mail and he was ok with it. I called Member's cell phone to get her side of the story before I wrote our response in Angie’s website; l asked her to call me back, left my name, company and cell phone. I waited three days, but she did not return my call.

I E-mailed a request for someone to contact me regarding replacing the burned outlet at about 10:00pm. I was called by 11:00 the next morning and advised that a crew could be there by 2:00pm. They were finished by 3:00pm and leaving. The price was considerably less than I anticipated. Hector and Ben were technologically knowledgeable of their trade. Hector explained some parts of the repair and I recognized that he cared about the quality of the work he does. I would have no reservations calling these guys back to another job.
Description of Work: I had an electrical outlet with a transformer in it burn up due to a physical short. Hector and Ben changed out the outlet, marked the fusebox, and verified the integrity of the wiring in the wall going to the fusebox. They were very quick workers and took care of every part of this job.

The estimate appointment was fast which I greatly appreciated. George was very thorough and precise. He asked questions and he answered mine. He got back to me within a couple of days with an estimate of the work. The work was started on 11/26/12 and was finished the next day. The spa was not delivered until 01/11/13. I called Alpine about a week in advance to make arrangements for the actual connection of the spa. The spa was delivered in the morning and two electricians came in the afternoon. The workmen arrived early on 11/26 and the supervisor went over everything with me again. He saw that the wiring along the back of the house was actually gong to be a conduit along the roof line of the house to minimize digging and it would not be noticeable. He asked me if I wanted to do the same from the box on the side of the garage instead of going along the ground. I liked that suggestion so we proceeded with that. I also asked to have 2 outlets instead of one to the pergola. The spa was going to be connected directly underneath so there would be no cords or conduit on top of the slab. This all added another $400 to the original estimate; but I was informed of this and agreed. A box was attached to the back of the house to control the spa and the outlets separately which was going to be very convenient not to mention safer. The supervisor showed me which switch was for the spa and which one for the outlets. He stressed numerous times NOT to flip the switch for the spa until they came back out to connect the spa. He also stressed to tell the spa delivery man to be careful when he cut the snub pipe to NOT to cut the wires too. The wires were draped up over one of the pergola slats and secured to keep them out of the way until connected. The actual connecting of the spa went slick. The electricians even put the panels back on when they were done. They waited while I started to fill the spa and turned it on to make sure all was good. We will be calling Alpine again to install lighting and a ceiling fan to the pergola.
Description of Work: We were had purchased a spa and had to have electrical work done for the installation and then the actual connection when the spa was delivered. A line had to go from the side of the garage, to the back of the house and then an underground line to the actual spa site. This had to be done prior to pouring any slabs. We also had two outlets put on the pergola and wanted preparation done for future lighting and a ceiling fan to the pergola.

When the technicians arrived I explained the problem. They verified that the problem was there. They explored a couple solutions and realized a specialist was needed.

See above. He returned my initial call, came when he said he would, did the job in about the time he said it would take, and it was a great experience....would definitely use him again if I have any more work to do in west Texas.
Description of Work: Had some wires relocated, several new outlets installed, and some internet wiring re-routed...did a great job, nice personable guy, and referred another craftsman to me for other services...only comment, and I found this with the painter I used, there was dust and wire fragments left behind (painter left some spots on the floor) No big deal, but I would include 'cleaning up' as part of the job...Again, no big deal, guy was prompt, and efficient, and reasonable....

I called Alpine Electric as a result of their good reviews on Angie's List. I called on a Saturday afternoon in the hopes of leaving a message to set up an appointment for some time this week. Someone answered and was willing to come right out. Instead, I scheduled an appointment for Monday and first thing on Monday, the electricians showed up! They promptly fixed the light switch in my hallway that had been denying me light for weeks! I remembered that the fan on one of my ceiling fans was also not working and they fixed that too--BAM! Now my son has his fan back and I can see in my hallway at night! The service was very appropriately priced and expertly done. I would highly recommend Alpine Electric to anyone!

I called Alpine on a Monday and scheduled the repairs for Tuesday afternoon. The person who answered the telephone was courteous and completely reassuring: yes, the company handled small jobs as well as big contracts; the charge would be $ 65 labor per hour plus parts; the technicians would come at a convenient time for me; and they would call before they came. As promised, I received a call mid-afternoon on Tuesday. The technicians arrived as scheduled, identified the problem with the bathroom fan and repaired it quickly, and upgraded the outlets. They were careful to leave the area spotless and were done in approximately 45 minutes. Even the invoicing was prompt. A totally positive experience; I would not hesitate to call Alpine again should the need arise.
