All went well. My only complaint is their site on Angie's List says they give a 5% senior discount. When I inquired about my senior discount, the girl in the office said they don't give senior discounts. So am only giving a B to price because of the misleading advertising or an uninformed office employee? The two guys who did the work worked hard and did a good, job.

Great. They were responsive to my call and they arrived promptly. Technicians were professional; only issue was that he did not have GFI outlets with him so I had to go up to Home Depot and buy a couple. As for the work, I definitely give it an A.

Alpine provided two electricians. They were always courteous and professional. Both men kept us informed as to work being done, and they asked for feedback prior to installing materials. George called up a few days later asking if we were satisfied with the work performed. Yes, we are very happy. Excellent work was done. My wife and I are very satisfied with the service also.

The entire process was easy and pleasant. I had scheduled the appointment via the web Sunday evening. I followed up with a call on Monday about noon. The dispatcher that took the call took my information and said that he would call me back before the close of business. I was called later in the afternoon by the dispatcher to schedule an appointment for Tuesday morning. I was told that the rep would be there between 8:30 and 9:00. The rep showed up at 9:00 as was expected. He (Mondo) was extremely professional and courteous. He came in and went straight to work. He was able to install both switches and repair the outlet in less than an hour. I would recommend Alpine Electric to anyone that requires electrical work.

Called to ask if someone could come over to give an estimate and was able to schedule a visit. Received a call the day before to confirm and was told who to expect and what time. The estimate was reasonable and decided to go with them. They were able to come do the work the very next day. Two electricians came to do the work and took a little longer than expected because they had trouble running The new wiring from one of the rooms. I was very pleased with they quality of work and friendliness. I will definitely use them again for any electrical work!

Called at 7:30PM in the evening to seek repair work. Company indicated they would send technician out the next morning. Technicians arrived promptly the next morning, diagnosed the problem , and solved the problem with a 'work around' repair in 2 hours. Employees were pleasant, knowledgeable, and worked effectively and neatly keeping me informed of problem and proposed solution. The repair cost was quite reasonable. I would certainly call Alpine Electric to assist with future electrical work.

This review comes from my father, who footed the bill and signed the contract, lives separately from my mother. The burning question: How did he jump from an initial estimate of $6,500 to a final bill of over $16,000 without offering justification? Well into the project, I called him, asking why he was uninvolved. His workers had no supervision nor scrutiny. We met. He apologized; he had been on vacation. (Am I supposed to sympathize?) He admitted his negligence. He left stating he would ?work? on my bill. (He did not show me the bill. I did not press him for it.) His discomfort was evident. Nothing changed. His workers continued their un-scrutinized work, brushing aside my wife?s questions and concerns, with a terse: ?we?re working according to code.? I visited more often, to hear my wife?s complaints. The workers could be cutting corners. Obviously, Mr. Ponce had not made the workers aware of our concerns. Near project?s end we met again. Mr. Ponce had the bill but balked at showing it to me. He feared my reaction. (Rightly so) Instead, he contacted my daughter, who made the initial contact and lives in San Francisco, a ploy to soften the blow when the bill reached me. My daughter mailed me the bill. Mr. Ponce balked at wiring the maid?s quarters and garage, claiming the estimate covered only the ?main house? - (Those two words do not appear anywhere in the estimate) He noted the rate of $70 per hour in the contract - implying justification for the bill, which almost tripled. (Again, a convenient interpretation) Subsequent negotiations resulted in re-wiring the maid?s quarters, repairs to the breakfast room, and skylight, plus re-plastering of the holes his crew made. All grudgingly agreed to by him. That is not enough. Adhering to his rhetoric, he should have atoned for his negligence to a greater degree Thus, he would have enhanced his integrity and reputation. I offered him options. He ignored them.? ?Mr. Geo. Ponce?s actions belie his rhetoric on fair treatment; no one should be taken advantage of. He invokes the wrath of God for those who dupe others.

I am very disappointed in her review to Angie's list, because despite all my efforts to make up for a mistake of not being in town during repairs, and allowing the bill to grow on a time (hourly rate) and material basis. I got a verbal approval in person from her father at the home in 3901 McKinley after completing all agreed requests by him for additional work not in contract and at no additional cost to him. He mentioned to me in person we had done well and had made up for Alpine's mistake, he was a different man, he seemed pleased with our work and also said he would write a good report about us. I did give him an answer to the burning question. I mention the contract he signed was a time and material contract for $70.00 per hour for a licensed electrician and an apprentice to rewire his home, estimated at $6500. His home had knob and tube wiring throughout most part of the home, there was some flexible conduits visible in basement and bottom floor bedroom that led us to believe it was throughout the entire home but it was only in that area of home we perceived from a previous upgrade done some 40 years ago. I visited the home and took several pictures during the initial visit. We had to rewire this large old home with plaster on all walls and lots of fire-block studs in between 2x4s throughout its walls with romex cable to each switch, new switches, (added by owners), receptacle, light, doorbell and new roughed smoke detectors. We had to make numerous holes in plaster to go around fire-blocks with our cable. In our contract we were to upgrade existing 100amp service to a breaker type and he changed it to a 200amp breaker type service after signed contract (not mentioned in his review). I also mentioned to him we signed a time plus material contract and had I met with him at time contract got close to $6500, he still would not have all his home rewired and there was nothing in contract saying I had to finish it for that amount (not convenient, just fact in signed contract). My only mistake was I did not do this early enough into the project. Our contract also stated very clearly we were not responsible for patching or painting if necessary. The owner has the right to stop the work at any time on this type of contract if he is not pleased with our performance during job, but not once did I hear workers were lazy or not doing their work efficiently. It is no secret to anyone the bill was adding up daily his wife had our arrivals and departures logged in her calendar. We passed our city inspection and had no problems with electrical inspector during or after his inspection. I made all original arrangements with his daughter who contacted me. I did not know her father was the one in charge of the job. I met his wife who lives at the home bud did not hear see him in the initial stages. It was Bernadine who called and gave me the go ahead to start. Well into the project and after meeting her dad in a meeting, I mentioned to his daughter I was willing to reduce the entire bill 25% to make up for my mistake and call it even. I reached out to Bernadine, because she seemed to be the one with more reasoning. Her father exhibited aggressive and violent behavior. He once arrived at the home and surprised the workers with insults and loud slurring accusing them of stealing the old electrical service materials from his home that we demoed and yelled he was going to put them in jail and sue the company, (also not mentioned in his review). The old materials were always at the home, workers had left them in back yard but were not seen by his wife because weeds were so high they were not visible to her. Electricians led them to their location. He apologized to workers in a letter we received by regular mail a week after the incident, it admitted of his false accusation, in it, he mentioned he was a war veteran and he had behavioral anger problems. I heard it was the main reason he was not living at home with his wife. His wife was not allowed to sit in last two meetings we had because she would not side with him on additional false accusations about us damaging plaster or removing items from his home. I mentioned to her of my mistake, made the 25% reduction offer and added I did not want to go to court but also felt I had not broken any laws in the contract we signed and if her father was not reasonable then we would eventually end up in court. I respected his apology and felt we could work things out and met with him to solve the issues. In a meeting with him I asked him what I needed to do to make up for my mistake. I did not ignore his suggestion, his original suggestion for me to atone for my mistake, was to repair all plaster and sheetrock in the entire interior of this large home damaged by water leaks due to a very bad roof that was not fixed for a long time, every room and wall and to rewire garage and maids quarters in detached building, as well as to install new aerial electrical from home to detach building at no additional cost to him. I mentioned to him this was very unfair since all this work would be estimated at what the electrical bill was at this point. He said he did not think so and I challenged him to get three estimates and find out or I would get them if he did not want to do it himself. He did not want to do that, thought about if for a while and eventually is how we agreed to do the patching of holes done by electricians, repair the entire breakfast room, walls, ceiling, and the woodwork damaged by water due to bad roof, a couple of large ceiling patch jobs on living room also damaged by water, sheet rock work on a sky light he accused us of doing but pictures I took originally proved otherwise (we still fixed it). Electrical aerial power to detached building which he said was there before we started and we removed, but pictures and his wife proved otherwise, (not mentioned in his review either) and rewiring of maids quarters and garage along with other small repairs throughout home at no additional cost. I did not agree to this grudgingly. I assigned two of our employees who do general construction in our company to do the patching, texturing and woodwork and the electricians to do the electrical work he asked me to do. Again, when we last met and went over his check list, he seemed pleased with our work, so much that he asked me if I was interested in doing the remaining plaster repairs to the entire home because he wanted someone dependable but I mentioned to him I was not interested because these guys are constantly busy doing support work for the other 50 employees who do electrical work and did not want to commit them to this long job. I never asked for any funds upfront for materials or labor. The first payment I got was for $6500 after meeting with him and agreeing to the necessary atonement for my mistake, then another similar payment after satisfying his requests. It was at this time he mentioned regarding good review and the last payment he would mail the following month. He did send the payment as he said and I thought all was fine and was glad we had come to a friendly conclusion until I read the comments in his review posted by Bernadine. Our work has a one year warranty on parts and labor. This includes all work performed by Alpine Electric. I do fear God and my statements are true, I tried hard to conclude this matter in a civil way to benefit the both of use and keep mistakes us humans make unmentioned to all but this man gave me no choice but to defend our good reputation we value so much. I am disappointed it ended this way. Sincerely, George Ponce President

We received stunning service and professionalism from both Rocky & Alfredo of Alpine Electric. The quality of the work was above standard and exemplary. No kidding folks, this was a great experience for my wife and I. Discussion: It is difficult to find quality and service from the "Trades" in our area. Most contractors do not like small home jobs. We've left messages for service with several electrical contractors who DO NOT RETURN CALLS. In our area, its a sad state of affairs when it comes to home repairs and service with construction trades, especially electricians. So..., against all that, we were shocked to find Alpine Electrical and the kind of service that "RAISES THE BAR" and sets an example for others to follow. We run a small egg farm with several shops and out buildings. Our electrical needs are farm oriented and require speedy service. We will be calling Alpine and asking for Rocky & Alfredo for all of our electrical work in the future.

I need to have a ceiling fan fixed that matches another in the same room. I called Alpine Electric and checked on the cost to have them come to my home to look at the job. They told me it would be $70.00 to come to the house to check the fan out. I feel like this is way too much. A lot of people can't afford to pay $70.00 just to have them come look at the project.
